new layer (transparent)
select all, right click,
stroke,
And thats it.
I set it on "inside" 1 pixel ussually black.
I set it on inside so I can see a difference in the border while I'm in Photoshop,
so I know I did it right.

thats pretty good for your first sig ever, but as i was told before, your dimensions are too big, try using 350 x 150 in pixels :D , yeah borders do help alot, other than that id give it a 7/10

You ussually want the sig's you make to be long and skinny.
