When D34THH34LER dropped into his map and started Kill Stealing.

My friend did nothing and said nothing in retaliation. He just kept to himself in the map and tried to kill his rats.

WELL this seems to have upset D34THH34LER because the next thing he said was "**** off Dumbass".

When my friend didnt, D34THH34LER defamed him.

I am a soldier (Sergeant 1st class). I am also a network technician and a buisness student. Im 28 years old and play this game with family and friends!!!

My friend is 12 years old for crying out loud. I was VERY angry with this D34thh34ler guy.

How do you think I am supposed to react? What am I supposed to do? Do we turn a blind eye to rude, selfish and racist players? Or do we fight back thru defamation, mass defamation etc... and get our hands dirty?

This is just a game tho. It shouldnt be so important... but when someone picks on friends I care about, I dont only want to stand up, I am trained to.

I think you should just leave those people alone and just log out or change channels or something. You could try to report them but it probably won't work. But, you could still try. So, good luck on doing whatever you have to do with those guys.

i'm 22 :) , and i know exactly what you mean, when something like that happens I remember it's just a game. I turn off the game and play something else or go hang out with friends. Games can piss you off periodically, but there are easy ways to take care of it.

for rare instances where racism and vulgar language is displayed, the BEST thing to do is report them to wizet. Get your whole guild to report them because this tallys up the reports to wizet and tells them the character has offended people multiple times. Don't have your guild/buddies do it all at once, maybe over a period of a week. Also send in a screen shot if you happen to of taken one, wizet will notice this. People might not think wizet gm's do their jobs, but the ban list says differently.

and just to warn you, only do the above steps if this person REALLY deserves it. If they just go in your map and ks you, get over it. Though if you feel the person has made you uncomfortable or has halted your playing of ms due to harassment then go right ahead.

I think you should just ignore the person. You get nothing out of flaming/defaming him, except he might flame/defame you back. Just ignore the people that are like that, since in the game of Maple Story, like all MMGs have popele that are just "scum bags" as you call them. Chances are that like Luthorix said just send some screenshots of the game, and send them to wizit.

Forget about it. Seriously, why waste time on revenge when you can just, you know play the game....

And where did you find that DS Maple story cartridge Luthorix? I guess maple is seriously coming out with a DS game wow that's sweet.

OnTopic: The best ways to deal with those ksers are basically just changing channels or ignoring them. Throwing defames back or talking to them may cause even more complication in the situation.

YES, YES IT CAN... but I can cool down faster, as for the guy in the beginning, I think by now, you should know about ppl like this, cause they are all over, and I think if every1 went up and posted harassments, the net would be filled to the max, but, you gotta learn to deal with it. Cause there are some things you just cant grasp, In this case, in a game I know you would really like to beat the sht out of the guy, (I would too) but you just cant, so its better to let go, then to ruin ur fun in Maple Story.

Ignore that person cause people like them love attention and when you dont give it to them they get even more mad and eventually leave. This is just a game in the end always remember that. Fame doesnt matter.What matters is having fun with the friends and family members that play this game.

In game and real life we will run into these kind of people best thing to do is avoid them unless they get completely out of line.

Seriously, If I were you I would get my entire guild to defame him. But then again, this could just start more issues. If I were your friend though I would usually just CC. Find a channel that is jerk-free.

well as adults we be the mature ones and ignore it

also no offense but a 28 year old should be either out partying or spending time with their family..especially since work is most of your life..im 21 but you never see me getting all huffy and puffy when im ks..i simply ignore it and move on.

also the best way to get rid of maple scum is wait until theres a huge build up then spray the scum with a high pressure hose..works wonders :D

before u get too mad about fame, realise, its only fame. check this d313 guy's fame, if its in the positive.. chances are dropping it by a lot will upset him.. SO DO IT! bring all ur friends in for the fun, make sure u laugh every time his gets dropped again be sure to ks him, mock him, taunt him... behind the computer hes probly crying right now..

The best cure for people like those are... not giving them what they want which is attention. Your friend did the right thing to just ignore him.

They will eventually get fed up and leave. Afterall, they are probably lacking attention elsewhere and are trying to get it in game be it positively or negatively.

Aye well, if that had happene dto me, I would have just hunted him down and defamed him once. Other then that, I'd leave the situation alone.

When people mess with me, I ignore it, when they start saying racist crap, call girls stuff like sluts, or ks newbs and make fun of them, I cuss them out.

Since i made my Wizard 8 days ago... i have been taunted twice because my charcters skin is black when in real life its white...
One guy spammed my whisper saying White Power! Black must be destroyed and GO KKK ( srry if this offended anyone (im not a racist) ) i got very annoyed but i just blocked whispers.. i was still annoyed so i just went out the back to shoot some hoops.. that calmed me down
Just find something to calm down when ur harrased, ksed ,defamed etc... even if getting guild members to mass defame and ks is the way that calms you down go for it!

I'm black and I did get insulted a few times because I was black but I just let it slide off. Reacting too much from the name-calling just makes the words more powerful then they already are. So its just best to ignore it and pretend the guy doesn't exist.

I agree with the poster said about tallying up the claims of harrasment from your friends. Thats a good idea and I'm going to use it next time someone insults me because of my race or any other reason for that matter.

Somtimes I get the impression that by not taking action I am part of the problem instead of a solution, however name calling and defaming arent going to help stop these people.
