Please tell me what your favorite Single Player RPG is!
Cause i really want a good one to play when my internet doesnt work :D


Edit: Oh yeah.. because everyone posted Games that you have to buy or you need internet for (Like Adventure Quest) and no one read the other posts but this one.. o_0 I want FREE and games that you dont need INTERNET for.. -_-

well if you want a good game that is single player but has the multiplayer capabillities you can play diablo 2. you dont have to play it on multiplayer to keep playing the game but if you got diablo 2 then nvm.

i already have diablo 2 and i dont think it's that funny on Single player.. and i also have played: Warcraft 3 (In Single Player) Dink Smallwood, Eternal Daughter.. thats only those i have. But please all those who read this post your best single player rpgs

well for old school i'd say ff7 and 8, chrono cross if u like chrono trigger. new school ff10 was a lot of fun. wild arms is real old but was fun and u could play emu for those older ones for free

If you could call KOTOR an RPG, I really liked that game =).

Elder scrolls IV: Oblivion.

Final fantasy games can't compare. This is truely the ultimate rpg. Unlike most rpgs this one has as much freedom as the game designers could possibly give you.

i agree, ff6 in my opinion is the best ff thats been made. all the new ffs are basicly focused on graphics. ffX was ok but then ffX-2 came out that shit sucks. and FFXI is just horrible :(

Guild Wars all the way, there is multiplayer aspect to it, but you can try and finish the game alone with henchmen.

You want good RPGs, you want Dungeons and Dragons. Baldurs Gate, Baldurs Gate 2, Icewind Dale 1 and 2, the list goes on! They had me playing all day and night just because i wanted to know where the plot was going. So, if you haven´t played them, you have a _lot_ to do :D [edit] these are not free, but they are pretty old, so probably not very expensive anyway.

Yeah your right man im a old school rpg player and i think that after final fantasy 7 all the final fantasy are just crap and final fantasy is not an a-rpg like FFXII and FFXIII so i just say that why they change all the system in all rpg this day it good to have beautiful graphic but when the story is crap and the gameplay too ,graphic are nothing without this 2 things. Like yesterday i checked the trailer of dawn of mana WHATT have they doing with this game an action-adventure wtf the serie of mana is an a-rpg like the wonderful seiken dentsu 2 and 3 ahhh the good old days with my snes

I would say that the Final Fantasy series is probally my favorite. If you like tactical RPGs, I would suggest Disgaea or FF Tactics (either the GBA or the PS version).
P.S. Disgaea is now an awesome anime. Final Fantasy was already an anime... :rolleyes:

Yeah if you love tactical rpg i recommend you all the game of nippon itchi ( NIS America) like the great Disgaea with many class , a lv max of 9999 so if you are a powergamer and you like to do lv this your game to do damage of 1 000 000 000 easily loll

i would have to say that the fallout series by interplay and black isle studios is my favorite RPG of all time. The seemingly realistic plot and a wide range of different characters really add up to the incredible storyline. The gameplay is like an average RPG turn based, but theres a little touch of gore and blood to add to the excitement. You can pick up many different NPC's along the way of your quests. Many perks, traits, skills to train up on and use. As well as a wide array of weapons to use and many different hostile humans, creatures that u will meet along the way. To round things up, in my own opinion no other game has ever given me this much enjoyment as Fallout. And you gotta love that blonde cartoon character pipboy that appears around the game. Even the intro of the games cool with a whole preview of the past. And of course topped off with spooky sound effects to match the vast wastelands.

I would have to say my favorite that I'm playing is FFVII, such a beautiful game!

Thats pretty hard for me x.x. Its between Chrono Trigger and the Suikoden Series(Well Suikoden 1+2, forget the others). I can't pick between the two =X.

thats awesome character building RPG, and every game of it has an awesome story.

Oblivion is not free, but it is worth your money. Many say it has over 300 hours of gameplay.

Another thing is your PC. Your graphics will most likely suck. And you will probabbly play in 800x600. But that never stopped me.

Or get an Xbox 360! I'm getting one soon just for Oblivion.

some of my all time favourites, FF series ( 8 and 9 was a bit disappointing though, and haven't played 5 personally (one of the ones wasn't realeased in US or somin like that) the numbers before 7 in FF series confuses me.

Secret of Mana I + II, Crono Trigger + Cross, Terran Igma(maybe incorrect spelling), Golden Axe, Breath of Fire, Wild Arm (quite average game)

Well.........FF X was the shit.....i never bought it but rented it for a week 5 times so i could beat it.....but because of that i never beat it cause i kinda rushed the game and my guys were weak and couldn't beat one of the last bosses and i couldn't go back to lvl cause of my save situation......so i ended up playing blitzball religiously the last week i had it....my guys were like lvl 67 out of the lvl 99 cap........BROTHER IS GODLIKE!

The Baldurs Gate series beat's them all, no doubt about it. You havnt played an RPG till you've played BG 1 & 2 all the way through without stopping. Made me feel hardcore >.< RAWR!

i love morrowind. id have to say its a toss up between that and vtm. oblivion i will play soon so im likely to have a new favorite

they are cheap and you can go multiplayer with them if you would like

If you don't want to buy Gothic 2 (which I think you should) you can always wait and save your money until Gothic 3 is out.

Oblivion is fun so far. I'm playing it again because I gave up on it the 1st time. The only thing missing is bathrooms in the game. Do people just go on the streets!?

well if you are hoping for a free rpg there is a online rpg called turf battles its not single player but if your looking for a single player only rpg i would have to say eldar scools 4 oblivein or something you have to buy it but my friend downloaded it:D

I love Fable. Although it's really short, it's still pretty enjoyable. You get to choose your own fate, etc etc. I never got the chance to play Fable TLC, so be sure to pick that one up instead.

You can try Mount and Blade. You have to pay like 17$ for the full version, but its free up to level 6. Great game. Super Fun.

you have to buy it but Jade Empire is one awesome game. its also pretty fun if you replay it too because the combat never really gets boring and there are many different styles you can learn. BTW that mount and blade game looks kind of like morrowind. does it have any online capabilities?

No online features its all single player.

There're a few good abandonware RPGs worth checking out. Bloodnet and Wasteland are pretty good. I've heard great things about Betrayal at Krondor, though I haven't played it yet. Of course, you'll probably need to download a program that emulates an older DOS environment like DOSBox to play them.

There's also [Nethack] (http://www.nethack.org/). ASCII graphics aside, the game's continuously updated (for like 20 years now), and it's pretty fun.
