Okay I dont know if this is the right place to put this but where can I find a free server host for a website. I can't stand Freewebs and how its like Free webs.com Freewebs join today,ect all over the site. So does anyone know of any free servers? Or free non advertising hosting?

no offense but is it that hard to pay 15 dollars a month for 5 domain names and 600 subdomains at www.1and1.com

Im setting up my own server soon. I just have to buy a donaim name. Ill be using Linux Fecora 5, and hook the server with a nice water cooler ;)

I hope you downloaded Linux for free and not bought it but nether less go daddy is the way to go for domain name yahoo was having a $1.99 domain name promotion but you just missed it :(

Or you could do a cheap option which is, install a webserver on your PC, then use NoIP.com for a static updating address with their little client and then you got a website you can update super fast and is online with minimal hassle. Only thing is, if you don't have your PC on 24/7 like I do, the webserver wont be up, so failing that you could always check your School and see they have a public folder you can use (my uni does for example) or you could just get your parents to buy a cheap Server from a shop and do the above and keep that turned on 24//7. :eye:

Uh, I wouldn't trust web hosts that give unlimited bandwidth. Read their TOS. Once (rather, if), your website gets too much traffic, they have the right to end your service. Go for something like awardspace.
