The pigs heads were a 'fad' due to the fact that a lot of the new quests need pig heads, and the pig heads rarely drop. So, the high lvls decided just to buy them, instead of KSing innocent newbies at pig beach. So, thats why they sell for a lot; becuase of the quests.
