S CRY Ed

EVERY SINGLE person who watches anime should watch it. It's like wow. And I'm into stuff that makes me go wow. I love suspence but I can't take it well, so it was hard to wait everyday in the summer to watch it.

S-Cry-Ed is okay, but a good anime is Ninja Scroll, either the movie or TV series, both are equally violent.

Watch on youtube. I loved it. The first few minutes of it is a bit boring but it gets much much more interesting. You might wanna copy and paste too. Took me forever to remember how to spell it.

Yes, and don't forget that huge guy also cuts a bunch of ninja's in half, in an extremely gory way.

Neon Genesis Evongilion

It is the best anime series out there, I've seen all of them on that list and non of them are better, close, but not better. Plus, the full metal alchamist movie really was not that good for the end of a really good series, but neon genesis evongilion had an amazing ending of the series.

The Animes I've seen:

*NOTE* I have not seen the full series for all these.

Blackjack, GTO, s-CRY-ed, Fushigi Yuugi/Inuyasha, This Ugly yet Beautiful World, DN Angel, Mezzo, Orphen 2, Ikki Tousen, Outlaw Star, Trinity Blood, Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist, Pilot Candidate, .Hack//sign, (Another .Hack show that in my opinion sucked as apposed to .Hack//sign), Eureka 7, Mythological Detective Loki Ragnarok, Trigun, Maze, Gravitation(Gay Anime, but it was funny in a way... Lacked action, so I stopped after episode.. 4?).

I'm sure there's more. But not all of those are very good, nor do I remember them very well.

Blackjack in my opinion was kick ***, I loved s-CRY-ed, Inuyasha got old, This Ugly yet Bueatiful World was canceled, DN Angel is overly annoying voice wise, Orphen 2 -- Also canceled, Ikki Tousen -- Overly Perverted, Outlaw Star -- KICKASS, Trinity Blood -- Started watching on Adult Swim, Bleach -- Same as Trinity BLood, Full Metal Alchemist -- Seen some in Japanese and all in English, Pilot Candidate -- VAGUELY remember, .Hack//sign -- Despite weirdness; I liked it, Eureka 7 -- Also very weird but still kickass, MDLR is kickass, Trigun -- kickass, Maze -- Slightly odd and the English Voice acting is some what sloppy but still good, Gravitation -- Gay anime but funny nontheless.

And as I said, there's probably assloads more, like Cowboy Bebop and Wolfs Rain, etc...

They're in no specific order, just came to mind as I remembered them.

ALL OF THEM WERE WATCHED IN ENGLISH, BECAUSE I HATE JAPANESE VOICE ACTING, AND I ALSO CAN'T STAND READING WHAT I'M SUPPOSED TO BE LISTENING TO.

You can check them all out.

Lain, excellent if you love deep involving plot and massive twists. Don't watch this if your an action fan, there is none. If you love to have very deep meaning in your anime, this series is for you. I loved lain and it had me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what twist will happen next.

Eureka 7--although I'm still waiting for my unmentionable fansub group to finish the last 8 episodes, it's excellent. Plenty of subplot and not to mention episode 28, I think, where the main character finally realizes he's killing people when he shoots sown the vehicles when he see's a disembody arm gooily attached to the bottom of his mech; excellent. note: english version is terribly dubbed, best to stick with a sub on this one.

Gohst in the Shell-- both seasons are great cyber punks with meaning; however, if you don't like shows involving police drama, then you may not like a majority of the episodes.

S-cry-ed was great,

oooh, oooh, oooh!!! I almost forgot my most favorite anime, with exception to FLCL, "Dual, double trouble parallel adventure" An excellent 14 episode long anime full of the ussual hormone driven boy funnies. Believe me, this show is excellent and those who like parallel universe stories will definatly love this maturish (teens can watch too) anime/sci-fi/comedy.

Hope this helps.

Rurouni Kenshin, Cowboy Bebop and Yu Yu Hakusho. These are the only ones that come to mind when looking at your list.

Yeah, my list of favorite anime are stuff I've seen on TV at some point, so they might not neccesarily be what your interested in. DUBS > SUBS!

If you are so confident that the topic is over, why not lock it?

And to the Dual thing. I have heard of it (same creator as Tenchi Muyo), but I never got around to it.

Hopefully it is as good as his other work.

Anywho, you should watch Cowboy Bebop (if you havent already seen it).

Full Metal Panic! is like Gundam, EVA.. etc.

I saw the Cowboy Bebop movie. It was killer.

I know this may seem like an odd question coming from Kult but.. who actually liked the Digimon movie?

Psh... I thought Eva was terrible...

Gundam isn't something that I cared for.

Full Metal Panic........... That doesn't even make sense. O_o

In general, I'm not a huge fan of giant robots beating the hell out of eachother, but I still like Eureka 7, and even if it is horribly dubbed I don't care. Subtitles = SUCK. I refuse to watch subtitles or listen to terrible Japanese voice acting.

I also don't like how if some robot smashes the hell out of the other, the PILOT gets tired and starts breathing like they ran six miles.

As for FLCL, I'm getting so sick of it.

I agree that EVA was terrible (to philosophical for my tastes)

With subs: Even though the language is in Japanese, you don't really notice they speaking that language. Read the subtitles long enough and you rarly notice your listening to Japanese unless you look away from the screen. Also, the Japanese voice acting is so much better than English versions (A kids voice is really a kid who went to a voice over school
. The Japanese are that dedicated)

I sudjest just watching at one subed anime before making choices. I used to be the same way, but soon changes when I realized I needed some new anime.

Anyway, back on topic.

I HAVE watched subbed Anime, and it's terrible. Not only that, who cares if some kid is doing it? 90% of the time the character shouldn't even sound like a kid, muchless a child shouldn't be focusing his life on voice acting when he/she has much more important things to learn about, that, is what I find wrong.

And I don't want someone ranting and blabbing at how it's a differance in culture, I really don't care, if I think it's wrong too bad.

Just because Japanese voice acting uses a very annoying kid to do the acting for a child character doesn't mean the kid has to be like 5 years YOUNGER than the character is.

Take Full Metal Alchemist for example -- I watched it in both english and subbed.

After a few episodes in subbed I saw no real differance except EVERYONE sounded like a little girl.

And Quite honestly... Edward is like what... 15? He isn't going to sound like a little girl at 15.

Granted he sounds exactly the same as he does when he's like 6, sept minor differances. But that's impossible to replicate without sounding completely differant in tone and everything. So I'd rather listen to a more mature person than some 10 year old who sounds like a 5 year old little girl talking in a differant language while I'm forced to READ instead of understand and being able to watch in comfort.

I don't know where you people get off that Japanese voice acting and subtitled anime is better than English dubbed, First off TV was altered so you can listen and watch instead of being forced to read, Second an English dubbed anime has very little differance except maybe a few words are editted out to make it appropriate for television.

Japanese Voice Acting and Subtitles << English Dubbed

I don't care what ya'll anime freaks say. I'm sticking to the shit I can understand, got it?

Serial Experiment Lain was a really good show.

I'd say check out Excel Saga, Noir(For some serious storyline), Hell Girl.

Noir will be like serial experiment lain except not as confusing but definately worth it if you enjoy a good storyline that alot of animes lack these days since everyone to caught up in explosions and lame ninja shows.

Haha, too much of a mind-***** eh?
If you can deal with all the mind-***** it's really great.
Really, anything from GainaX is wounderful, if you are able to understand it.
Course, it's the studio that has set more standards then any other.

All of the above are pretty short, ranging from 3-13ish episodes.

I don't care what ya'll anime freaks say. I'm sticking to the shit I can understand, got it?

I'm sorry if I offended you (probably that suggestion to watch a sub part) but we all have our own opinion. Yes, I know most prefere to listen instead of read, and truth is that many english dubbed animes were done very well, but I'm only warning ya'll that some companies tend to downgrade the audience from what it was intended for.

I've read of one anime that was intended strictly for teens and up. It had blood, guns, guts, and thick plot lines. When a dubbing comany got hold of it, they replaced all the gore with water, all the guns with wate guns, and changed the plot so that a 4 year old could understand. You just got to look out.

Yes, Full Metal Alchemist was well dubbed, but in my oppinion, the voice and choice of words in Eureka 7 are way off.
[spoiler]
One of the members in the Gekko Go is actually closser to the age of 35 than 20, and here voice makes her voice just doesn't fit.
[end spoiler]

Just remember, everyone, some dubbs may be good, but in many cases the origanal is better, and in other cases it doesn't really matter.
