A few days ago it was reported that on the Ellen Degeneras show an amazing “blind” kid who uses echolocation to “see” (he even wants to be a game designer) got a free gift package courtesy of Nintendo that included the Wii console (not even yet released), Twilight Princess and other gifts like a Nintendo DS Lite. Looks like Nintendo’s marketing strategy is slowly moving in on shows like Ellen.
It also seems that with a free copy of Twilight Princess, the game may as well be already completed.

Lucky him probobly one of the first wii owners in the world if not the first.
I wonder how he'll play it.
Only 59 more days for us in North America(Wii), and 57 for the PS3.

That's impressive and really inspirational. Goes to show you how people with difficulties like his are able pull through.

He's not blind - he said his eyes were fake but they move.
He also says -
"Yeah I saw the videos you showed me..."
"The Wii? I saw that on the internet..."

It shouldn't be hard for him to play on the Wii blind. In fact one of the best players in Soul Calibur (or Mortal Combat I forget) beat the creator of said game. I saw him play against Kevin Peirera in AOTS and dear god he's amazing!
I can't tell if it's fake or not, but I think that this stuff is fake. >_> But IF it's real, then damn (in a good way, like "damn that's good"). I wish I got that Wii....:(

his eyes are fake, as in a plastic ball that looks like an eye. How does that constitute as him being able to see? I know there is the technology to be able to see even if you were both blind, but I only heard of 2 instances of that. When he said that statement notice how the audience was laughing?

Here you got a wii, have fun with it but you can't see anything, and as the games are on a flat screen you cant touch or whatever... You got it first but you cant play it..
What is the point of giving a blind dude a wii... thats just MEAN! :hmm:

people have special compy's when they're blind, so they get stuff read out to them by it.

Perhaps his friends or family read it aloud.
Anyway, that's cool. I wish I got a free Wii.

Uhh, have any of you guys ever opened the narrator thing that is in microsoft applications? It kinda, reads everything out on screen.
Opera also has an option to speak out whatever you highlight.
As for videos, he can hear those.

How can you just say "a blind kid" you have no idea what he can do, you have no idea how he visualises thing's.
You are not blind, so you have no say in what he can and can't do.
And i don't think lowering a person's standerd's over a videoconsole is a respectful thing to do.

I'm not lowering his standard, i just stating it would be pointless giving a video game console to a kid who can't exactly... see the video game... unless he was like half-blind, tunnel vision or something... =]
