My Maple Story Guide.

1: Why I made it...

I made this guide solely because I am at school, and I am bored.
Well, maybe to help all the newer people to the game, 0.o, or am I?
Anywise, off to the guide.
This guide will explain the stats and a few basics, not the skills, IÕll type them up later.

2: Version history...

.01 (9/21/2006) Began writing guide, put in the first 4 sections.
.02 (9/22/2006) Continued on guide.
.03 (9/27/2006) Finished basic skill distribution.
.04 (12/20/2006) Changed some mistakes in guide.

3: Intro to game...

Maple Story is a free to play game to anyone who wished to play, it is an MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Role-Playing game.) That is addicting, some people believe it to be over addicting, but heck, it is better then sitting playing games that all you do is click the mouse all over the screen.
Anywise, this game has 4 completely different professions, The Bowman (my favorite class, so I may show a little favoritism, not to be mean or anything.), The Warrior, The Magician, and The Rogue. All of them has advantages, and disadvantages, such as a Bowman can attack from far ranges, while Warriors attack at close range, but has allot more hp. Magicians have an overabundance amount of mp, but rogues have both warrior and archer style of fighting.

4: The path of the beginner...

When you start the game, you are a beginner on an island called Maple Island, where you learn the basics of the game. But, all Earned was that I did not like the standard controls, so I changed it, and the leveling system, I had to read countless guides till I got the hang of the game. Level 1-10 may seem hard, but that is as easy as it gets, if you can not handle that, then I suggest you quit, and make it allot easier for all of us.

5: What profession is the best?...

There are no definite selection, everyone likes something different, although archers are my favorite, just became a hunter today, ^^, allot of people donÕt like archers because of their high damage range do to critical hit, but but if you are new to the game, I would suggest you start out with a warrior or mage, mages may be harder at first, but they become fast leveling and good mes makers. DO NOT MAKE A SIN UNTIL YOU HAVE ENOUGH MESOS!
Sins are no good unless they are funded, archers may be hard to level, defiantly in their hell period (level 50-70), but all the classes suit all people, personally, I do not like warriors, IÕm not much of a melee fighter.

6: Choosing your profession...

You should choose your profession before you make a character, IÕll explain each profession in more detail later on in the guide. But for now, this is how you should start out.
Warrior: Str=*
Dex=*
Int=4
Luk=4
*= any number.

Archer: same as warrior.

Mage: Str=4
Dex=4
Int:=*
Lu=*
Opposite of warrior and archer.

Rogue: Str=4, unless Str. Bandit, then *
Dex=*
Int=4
Luk=*

7: Path of The Warrior.
Follow the stat roll in section 6, try not to settle for a 5 for int or luk, you WILL regret it. The requirements for a warrior is to be level 10 with 35 Str. to become a warrior. Make Dex 2X your level.
Make sure after you start to gain levels, put all the points into str, after you get, then make dex 2X your level, like. say if you got this stat roll.
level 1:10 Str
6 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

level 2: 15 Str
6 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 3: 20 Str
6 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 4: 25 Str
6 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 5: 30 Str
6 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 6: 35 Str
6 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 7: 35 Str
11 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 8: 35 Str
16 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 9: 38 Str
18 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 10: 41 Str
20 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Follow that and you should be fine. IÕll make a skill guide later for each class.

8: Path of The Archer:
Follow the stat roll in section 6, try not to settle for a 5 for int or luk, you WILL regret it. The requirements for an archer to get their job advancement is level 10, and 25 dex. Str should be 5+ your level for a hunter, but equal your level for a crossbowman.
Make sure after you gain your levels, make dex 25, then make str 5+ or equal to your level.
Depending if you want to get a bow at level 10 or not, these are the 2 different builds, lets say this is what you got.

Melee at level 10-15:

level 1:6 Str
11 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

level 2: 6 Str
16 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 3: 6 Str
21 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 4: 7 Str
25 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 5: 12 Str
25 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 6: 17 Str
25 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 7: 22 Str
25 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 8: 27 Str
25 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 9: 32 Str
25 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 10: 35 Str
27 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk
Then put rest into Dex untell respective level.

Bow at level 10:

level 1:6 Str
11 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

level 2: 6 Str
16 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 3: 6 Str
21 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 4: 7 Str
25 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 5: 12 Str
25 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 6: 15 Str
27 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 7: 15 Str
32 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 8: 15 Str
37 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 9: 15 Str
42 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Level 10: 15 Str
47 Dex
4 Int
4 Luk

Then make Str either equal, or 5+ your level, depending on your proffession.

The Path of The Rogue:
Follow the stat roll in section 6, try not to settle for a 5 for int or str (str only for Str Bandits.), you WILL regret it. The requirements for a rogue to get their job advancement is level 10, and 25 dex. Dex should be 2X your level, but but after you get 60 dex at level 30, only add 1 per level.
Make sure after you gain your levels, make dex 25, then make dex 5+ or equal to your level.
Here is the build, but not putting up Str bandit, meh dunno that one.

level 1: 4 Str
5 Dex
4 Int
10 Luk

level 2: 4 Str
10 Dex
4 Int
10 Luk

Level 3: 4 Str
15 Dex
4 Int
10 Luk

Level 4: 4 Str
20 Dex
4 Int
10 Luk

Level 5: 4 Str
25 Dex
4 Int
10 Luk

Level 6: 4 Str
25 Dex
4 Int
15 Luk

Level 7: 4 Str
25 Dex
4 Int
20 Luk

Level 8:4 Str
25 Dex
4 Int
25 Luk

Level 9: 4 Str
25 Dex
4 Int
30 Luk

Level 10: 4 Str
25 Dex
4 Int
35 Luk

The Path of The Mage:
Follow the stat roll in section 6, try not to settle for a 5 for dex or str, you WILL regret it. The requirements for a mage to get their job advancement is level 8, and 15 int. Luk should be 3+ your level for a, but but after you get. Make sure after you gain your levels, make Int 20, then make luk +3 your level.

level 1: 4 Str
4 Dex
10 Int
5 Luk

level 2: 4 Str
4 Dex
15 Int
