Here is my pop out signature, I followed a tutorial from Gimp Talk. It's just a simple signature, but this time I got down the transparent background stuff. I guess i'll just have to find a new way to make the parts above the background less choppy. But everyones on the tutorials were somewhat choppy above the background, just some worse than others.

No!!! Bad GoFlyAKite, Thats not a very good render lol, bad cut. Get a smoother one! lol

4/10

No offence but this is your worse :P i mean the ones you put less effort in is better. Since your new at pop outs i cant blame you but still... you can do alittle better than that.

have you thought of maybe a real soft blur, like gaussian blur.. I dunno, .2 or something? it wouldnt actually blur the render noticably, but maybe take care of the roughness. think you could try it and post the results? I'm curious! and, btw, it's good, a bit too washed out for me (which is wierd, becuase I like washed out things, and subtleties) but for the washed out style, the bg is good. I dunno, 7.5/10.

It is a clean cut render. But when I save it to .gif the parts out of the background go choppy. I'll try the blur idea, but since the choppyness only comes after I save it to .gif, i'm not sure if it will work.

4/10 Theres no blending, and blending is one of the most important parts of pop out sigs

No offense dude but this isn't your best. Then again the render completely ruins it.

Ahh! I followed this tutorial. I know the render ruins it, but that because I followed the steps, I could have made it like Realisms with the color background, hmm I think i will. By the way Realism use this color code, it's the color of the forums background. :D

Well thanks anyways people for the criticism, I'll do better the next time I make a pop out signature. :p But my next thing I want to do, there was a tutorial on Gimp Talk, that taught you how to vector a render, it looked awesome, but hard, but still awesome, so I'm going to try that next whenever I have alot of time! :D

I heard from Cloud13 that you should save stuf as PNG, maybe that'll fix your choppiness...

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i132/goflyakite4/CityofHeroesPopOutSignature.gifIn my opinion it looks like the picture was just put on it which makes it pretty odd and bad looking which is something I suck at since I'm a noob anyways.. unsure of a rateing.
