Welcome to my thread for SOUL: Paradesha.
I made this thread as a way to get some hype for SOUL, as I finally got tired of playing your average cookie cutter MMORPG's.
This thread will serve as a placeholder to start the hype about SOUL before the website goes up. so i'll be updating this with news as to how the game is coming along, as everyone here at OnRPG I consider family :o
First let me tell you a bit about SOUL.
About SOUL: Paradesha
Online Action/RPG (About 128 Players MAX per server, not massive)
Fully 3D
First Person and 3RD Person Perspectives (First person recommended)
No Mindless click, wait 5 minutes, click Gameplay
No killing thousands of monsters to gain a level
to list a few.
Let me go indepth here,
Well I was sitting up and was ranting on in my head about how im sick of all the cookie cutter MMORPG's that take no skill at all to play, I hate click and move, I hate leveling up, I hate clicking on a monster and occasionally pressing a button, they call that a fighting system?
Anyways the aim of SOUL is to create a "User Inspired" game of such, using the resources available to me.
The Name
SOUL: Paradesha, why Paradesha? well I wanted the ultimate goal for SOUL to be something important, not just becoming wealthy, or powerful, mind you those are always important, plus if there was going to be a story I needed a backdrop, so...
I thought of it! why not make the players ultimate goal, to find a Paradise, a place so beautiful, perfect in every way, now I needed a word, you might think Paradesha is made up, but the reality is, its Sanskrit (one of my favorite's mind you) It means Supreme Country, or Paradise.
Inspiration
This game is inspired greatly apon by The Elder Scrolls(TM) series, one of my long time favorites, so if you dint like Morrowind, you probly wont like SOUL.
The Team
James "Hayloe" Hartley - Programmer, 3D Modeller, Project Lead, Ect.
"Kattuz Strophius" - Concept Artist
I might take on some 3D modellers or a Webmaster, talk to me, maybe we can work something out, I need to see your work though as this needs to be consistant.
Leveling and Skills
I'll either use the Morrowind level system or design my own, ditching levels and making stats and skill dominant, this is an Action/RPG you know, think of intense battles requiring skill rather than just how much time you get online to click on monsters.

Edited the house in the screenshot a bit, fixed the scaling on them, ingame the door opening and window was huge.
Programmed in doors, with sounds and animation, yay for me! doors can be either locked, or freely opened, if there locked they wont open unless someone has the key in there inventory, Hmmm i'll leave you with my last concept thought of the night... "lockpicking"
