Yeah I heard about it in school. I was pretty amazed that the YMCA was still open, but it doesn't really concern them since we're in Chinatown. I was in the 4th story computer room visiting when I saw the cnn news. I heard it was on 72nd street, near the FDR drive. They say it probably wasnt a terrorist attack. It seemed pretty dumb to bomb a condo with a plane to me. I doubt anyone was home at that time. Maybe a few injuries, but nothing much. Oh and the kids from eleanor roosevelt highschool saw the whole thing while they went outside for gym. I can't be sure tho, since I'm from pace.

I just heard about it but there seems to be no evidence about a terrosit attack.

The real question is: Who the hell gave him a pilot's lisecense?!

Question: Why would terrorists ram themselfs into a worthless buildining in a tiny wheeny plane? Answer is they wouldn't, if you had watched one of the videos or other topics about it you wouldn't be screaming "ATTACK ATTACK!" silly. :hmm:

I heard, that the pilot had called the peoples just about a couple moments before, that he was having mechanicle difficulties. Oh, and 2 people are dead, thank god no one was really there in the apartment building at the time...

couldn't catch any news segment from the tv at the computer room, so I didn't know. But, it's sad that 2 people died. Good thing that no body else was hurt or something. Even if they were, let us hope that their minor wounds. Oh and I'm atheist

You'd be suprised.

Believe me, that's not as hard as it sounds. When you sit in the front seat of a Cessna 172 (or just about any plane that size) you lose a good portion of your forward view because it's taken up by your instrument panel - it's nothing like what you're able to see out of the windshield of your car. Not even close. You ever see an old person looking through their steering wheel while they drive? It's kinda like that.

From what I gathered on the various news reports, he was having fuel problems. Guess where that knob is located? Pretty much on the floor between the two front seats. So if he was switching the fuel selector and making sure it was in position, he would be looking just about straight at the floor. Add that to what the visibility was and you can see how something like this could possibly happen, especially to a new pilot. He was obviously off course - way off course, but I'm sure he was concentrating on figuring out his fuel problem and just forgot to keep flying the plane in a moment of panic. If shit hits the fan when you're at altitude, you can't just "pull over" and check things out, it's easy to panic and forget common sense stuff.

Yes, I'm a licensed pilot so I speak from experience.
