woot, i finally get to start playing today :D im gonna be on the valefor server with some friends from school, if anyone else wants to start there too, i can try and get a world pass for you.

a world pass is a password in ffxi that you can use to get onto a server of your choice, say you wanted to join the bahamut server someone would buy a world pass then tell you the code...that my friend...is what a world pass does...then theres a gold world pass...which lets you get a mandragora hat i think...kinda lame IMO... cept you get to look more like a mandy lol

ok, umm lemme make it clear...when you start FFXi you can't pick the server you want to go on it places you in one randomly, but with a world pass, you get a friend to buy one for you in game (costs like 1000gil, not much) then you can enter his server, because at the character creation page you go through what you wana be and your race then theres asection for the server code, if you dont have one you just continue on, but if you have one you put in the code...
