What the hell?

This should be in the rquest section and why would you want someone to make a mmorpg for you? I mean if its a mmorpg shouldnt you share it so others can play. Otherwise its a RPG.

RPG is the same as MMORPG!
PhantasyRPG.com is a MMORPG game, and its RPG!
there 90000 regestered players and its a RPG, so what do u mean games that only 1 person can play is RPG?
i didint mean make it for ME, i meant make it foe me cuz i dont know how to make it.
so its just making it for me, not making it for ME!
i will let thousands of others play it!
DUH!!
i wont ask for somone to make somthing that only i can go on!

You've clearly missed what "Massive Multiplayer" stands for.

You're still:
1) Asking a complete stranger to do something really hard and time consuming, without providing anything in return
2) Intend to take credit, despite doing absolutely nothing.

i wont ask for somone to make somthing that only i can go on! :mad:Since you've already asked complete strangers to make a game solely on your behalf. I'd hardly be suprised.

 If you want to make a MMORPG your best bet is probably to make it yourself using a builder like Playerworlds.

Try http://playerworlds.org/ (http://playerworlds.org/index.php?categoryid=1&) they have forums too, apparently.

1. What kind of game is named ParkourRPG?
2. You probally should have put this in a request forum, shameless promotion, or game development. Maybe even Browser/MUDs because as far as I know, most of these people don't own companies that produce games.
3. RPG is the same as MMORPG!

RPG's can be a standard platform format on systems such as a PS2. If you really MUST make an RPG, it would be better single player than multi for you would probally have to purchase a web space for that. I'd suggest you google "Gamemaker" or something to make an RPG though.

Why do you think that someone will make a RPG game for you so that you can share it over net and take all the credit?

ok just for the people who dont know

Parkour is a french style of free form running or city jumping, involving acrobatic stunts and tricks, In america Parkour is referred to as "free running" and is not as widely followed. for an example of parkour you can watch parkour videos on www.youtube.com or google video.

I dont see how this would work as a game though... parkour style is against competition and violence.

I remember... they're doing this Parkour here in my city... the police and government don't like it too much cuz they think it can harm the statues and buildings.

Yeah, i have seen few videos of it. It looks really crazy, especially when you jump to an edge of a high building.

Well, anyway I dont know if this kind of idea works in a RPG tho.

Um, technolyze? Parkour isn't dancing. Parkour is running and climing. While audition is a good game, it has nothing at all to do with parkour...

I actually used to practice parkour but stopped because i needed more time for my writing

http://www.parkour.com

a website with information on the true act of free running.

Okay, in attempt to restore order on topic, and explain to you what you need to do to create an MMORPG, I will spend the next 5 minutes typing a post, made just for you ;)

So you want to make an MMORPG?

Well, first thing is first, learn a programming language! I personally recommend some heavy duty languages like C, C++, or Java, but most programming languages will work. Each language has their advantages and disadvantages, but neat and well structured code can help "lessen" those disadvantages.

Okay, so after you learn a programming language you think you're ready to make an MMORPG? THINK AGAIN! Next, you're going to have to start delving into the graphical side of MMORPG's. You also might take this time to start polishing your art skills. I'm not going to get too specific on this part, as I am not very knowledgable with graphics and such.

Okay, so you now know a programming language and you can combine graphics with your code. Think you can make an MMORPG now? THINK AGAIN! You should now take this time to gain some valuable skills that will benefit you later on, when you finally do get to the MMORPG level (that's if you're still going to want to, these tasks are to break you down!! jk). Now you should start working on some smaller projects, preferrably games if your goal is to make an MMO. If you don't have any ideas on what to do, try remaking some games, except make them better! I'm not talking about remaking Diablo or Quake, I'm talking about remaking simple games like pong or tetris. You will quickly realize that these games aren't so "simple" as you thought they were. Do several of these small projects.

Okay, so now you can program, implement graphics with your code, and have made some simple games. Think you're ready for an MMORPG. THINK AGAIN! Now, you need to get a bit more advanced with your little games. Try making an RPG, and then try making it multi player. This will teach you a lot of the obstacles and barriers that make multiplayer games difficult.

Okay, so you can now program, do some graphics, and make multi player games. Think you're ready for an MMORPG? THINK AGAIN! The name of the game is "networking". Now try making some real time online games, where a set of 2 players can play a simple game of cards or pong against each other. You will do a lot of research on this part. Networking is very important. If you don't practice good technique, you will find that your worst nightmare has come true. LAG! It will be slow, and could drive a lot of potential players away. This also increases need for new servers, even when you only have a few players online at a time. Practice, and practice well.

Okay, since my computer is supposed to automatically restart in 2 minutes because of some updated, I need to wrap this up. You have now become quite the programmer, having polished knowledge in programming games and the server side difficulties of these tasks. You just might be ready to do an MMORPG now. Take it slow, and do your best. You might find that you will re write a lot of the code you create. Remember, avoid spaghetti code, and keep it neat and structured.

So you're ready to make an MMORPG, and think you're ready to recruit a team? THINK AGAIN! You should have the skill to make an MMORPG now, but you think you are worthy of having a team, lol? No, not just yet. You need to start doing the work yourself! Trust me, unless you are waving around a ton of cash, nobody is going to want to join your team unless you have some progress made. It would be best if you had a working prototype of the game before recruiting, with screen shots and concept art. And a website! Appear professional, even if you aren't!

So you have a working prototype of your game (hopefully you practice good approaches to programming games, like creating a design document of your game). Think you're ready for a team? NOPE! Think again. Now, take the time to check the status of your bank account, or wallet. See anything there? Probably a good savings, but think about it. These programmers you want to recruit to your team are probably people who want a real HOURLY WAGE. Can you support these guys with that kinda cash?

Okay, before you answer yes to that question, take a deep breath, put your wallet down, and read this paragraph. MMORPG's take FOREVER to create! Even if it is simple! I'm not talking weeks, I'm not talking months, I'm talking years! It might even take you 2 years just to get that working prototype that I was talking about earlier, and even that prototype is going to suck. So an hourly wage, for an estimate of 2 years (that's putting it nicely). Let's say they are being paid $15 per hour, working a few hours a day (let's say 3). 3 * 15 = 45. 45 * 365 = $16425 per year. $16425 * 2 = $32850. $32850 for 1 person for the next 2 years (and even then you possibly won't be done). Now how many people do you want on your team? Take that number, and multiply it by $32850. Yes, WOW!

Okay, so you think you don't have to pay these programmers, and you could just promise them a percentage of the profits you get from the game? Okay sure. Except one problem. WHAT PROFITS? You can't promise something you don't have, and something you possibly won't get at that. Either that, or they will want to be part owners of the game. Is that something you really want? Someone who can call the shots, just like you can? Doubt it, but if so, go on and see if you can get somebody with this reason as motivation.

Okay, you either hired some guys, or you decided you'd rather save your money and go solo. You're making a lot of progress on your game, and it's almost ready to roll! Well, not quite. First of all, you're going to need a reliable server. This costs money. Look into it, I don't feel like giving esimates because my computer is about to restart lol.

Debugging. One of the biggest pains in the butt in a programmer's life. Get yourself a trustworthy group of beta testers, and have them report some bugs to you. Fix the bugs. Now you have a bug less game, and hopefully a server.

Now, you have done all the technical bits of the game. Let's return to reality. With such a massive game, you're going to receive some massive complainsts, hackers, cheaters, bug exploiters, and law suits. Customer support is key. I read an article earlier today that explained a lot of these things, called "10 Reasons Why Not To Make an MMORPG". I hope it doesn't discourage you from creating an MMO, because it can be a very rewarding experience.

Here you are:

http://archive.gamespy.com/gdc2003/top10mmog/

Read it, learn it, live it.

Now get ready to dedicate the next few months of your life to this game. You will need to be with it every step of the way to help get it off the ground. Hopefully you can appoint some trust worthy players to help moderate the game.

Now the game is up and running. Hopefully you have already set up some methods to generate some income to support the game, and keep it running.

If you made it this far, congratulations.

-----
Now the alternative to all this pain and suffering is an MMORPG maker, but it will definitely not be what you are looking for because often times they still require programming experience, and don't quite fit your game. Do you know why? It's because many of these MMORPG makers were engines created for other people's games! They were made to fit their game specifically. Some of these weren't, but many were. A lot of people will see you use a game maker, but if you can still make a somewhat decent game with it, then I guess go ahead. But have you ever heard of a famous game with thousands of players shelling out money to play that was made by a game maker?

Gotta go, computer resets in 10 seconds.
