View Full Version : Announcements Section?
I would like to see a section of news and announcements. I wanna know whats up with the staff members and how the site is going and everything. You could post, "WELCOME OUR NEW MODERATOR: BLAH!" to, "Warning: New bug in the fast reply.", or,"Patch update!" and so much more. Basically, I'd just like to know how the site is doing and not be clueless like the last OnRPG we had.

Ahh so you want a "Forum Announcment" Section sort of like like in games they have updates we would have forum updates?
Hmm it is a good idea, what we can do now is have announcments last for a certain amount of days. So we should be able to do this with out adding a section.

Agreed.
Although I do think a section for it would be more efficient then just posting a sticky in general.

Ahh no it is not a sticky, it is a announcment like the forum rules, they will be shown in every section unless we don't want it to.

Ah, I see.
Well in that case, I think it would work out perfectly.

You could make a pop-up with daily updates and announcements. That way everyone will see it. What about the people with popup blockers? No problem, sinc ethis is Onrpg, the home of secksi people (and pervs..) they will probably think it's a porno popup and turn off their popup blocker.

Hmm I have never seen a pop out message other then when you get a new private message. How ever we can do announcements that show up as if you opened the post at the very top. Such a thing would be like having the information of a section showed. But I am starting to lean towards the Announcement section because then we could have a archive of all information.

Not a system-message-like-pop-up, but a small html window with updates and announcments.

Ah so it would in a way appear like a list of latest announcments on the Main page of the forum?
Any kind of thing that would keep me up-to-date with the site and how it's going is fine with me. :p

Actully, I like the idea of an announment forum.
It allows staff to put up forum updates, and then users can only reply to them, not make new topics.
It allows input on the updates and such.

I think it would be a very handy section. I think when Gabe gets back from Europe he should add it in.

So this will be in action when gabe gets back from Europe correct?
Announcement sections is well needed, epsecially on what's new to the forums with updates and what not.And could also use it constantly since it will be pastured in front of the user then rather stickied in a section, where the user would try looking at the sticky.

I agree. Good idea.
Nonetheless, isn't updates what the front page of OnRPG.com is for?

Well, that seems to be more used for MMO updates and installs.
And also, it would be harder for the community to put out thier thoughts on it.
Have forum updates with-in forum, and it's easier to manage and discuss
