quick question: is there some kind of soften option, rather than just blurring? because using multiple filters and blending effects is making some of my stuff look really sharp, but blurring destroys the details... and it doesnt make enough of a difference if you do a real soft gaussian blur...:-/

Opacity, i think. Try smudging not blurring.
