honestly i've been looking for popular p servers of wtever games to play
i tried one of the very top one among those "top games" sites and its a MU server
still, i uninstalled it after 15 mins =S

There aren't any private servers for it anyway. So no, there is no way to play for free.

well i must say my friend had one... i think u needed to dl the game over Bit-t'''''' an then u could play it free... tho its down now its really waste of money for the one that made the p server... they can cost alot to keep runing ... an i would say try the real game out.... its really sad with p server's :-/

He had a PSO server, not PSU. PSU can be torrented, but not played online for free.

There was a private server for PSO(All except Xbox version)
That had a better population,allowed hacking (Some of you might think this was bad,but there wasn't any really bad ones,Just ones so that humans could use Force only skills and stuff) And it had less FSOD,and new quests added all the time.
It was actually better than The sega servers.
On the gamefaqs message boards(Am I Allowed to talk about other boards here? I Don't want to be in any trouble)They referred to it as "The server"
And they all played don it,the moderators actually allowed talk of it.
So yeah,I Just felt the need to post here.
