Hello now that i have gained some attention i would like to ask a Few questions about Maple Story Online, Just a bit of a background first of my Exp with MMORPG,s


Well i started with Runescape which lasted probably the most out of most mmos i have played until i got banned, not for anything bad just trying to advertise my clan lol, (Strict game that is)

Then i went overseas which opened my eyes to KOREAN mmo's, first of which was a Game Called Khan Online which was alright until i had to pay since my level was at a requirment to pay.

I then went onto Many more Korean MMOS which were all just the same *grind grind grind*


After that i went onto DOFUS ONLINE it was one damn good game pretty damn good for a flash might i say!, i played in the beta days and fought for no reset on the dofus forums rofl but in the end it went psp and then i lost interet in it.

umm... i then went onto WoW, this is hard to brgin to terms but i just did not like the game!, its just for example, (this is weird eg but its my way) but you know like in Tekken how you get a nice hit on the opponent and you feel the UMPH like "yeah! fell that pain!", well when u attack creeps in WoW its just like ur not actually hitting it u dont feel a satisfaction just, that u need to kill for exp.. lol that is my weird way of explaning things lol but bare with me!..


and after 5 months i have not touched another mmo and actually got into it but after thinking about it i want to play Maple sotry lol, i dunno why but i just do.


Well since you got some of my exp of mmos, might make is eaisier explaning the answers to my questoins lol :S

Well here they are.


1. How do i become an assasin, what classes or job changes do i need

2. is this game fun to play with friends?

3.well this question is weird but here it goes, can you make ur character look like an EMO?, lol thats for a friend i have lol :S

4. is this game very popualar in the mmo world?

5. what are the ports for this game (incase my router starts to be gay) :p :p

I can anwser question number 5 :D

You just play the game, no need to configure a router. Since there isn't any connection coming into your computer, just coming out from your computer.

Just start a play.

u become an assasin but u need to be a rouge and lvl 30. u can turn into a rouge by going to the fusion bar and when ur lvl 30 go to east construction place

2. is this game fun to play with friends? Yes,every game is better with friends

1. At level 10 you become a rogue by going into the fusion bar in Kerning City and talking to the guy hanging upside down in the basement. You have the choice then to either use throwing stars or daggers. Use throwing stars to become an actual assassin, or use daggers to become a bandit.

2. Yes, this game is very much fun if played with friends.

3.Yes, you can choose many different clothes and hair styles ingame or through the NX cash shop.

4. I believe it is, especially considering on OnRPG it has the most posts out of any other MMORPG specific forum.

Thats only half true. I don't personally know of any specific ports that MS uses, but there are incoming connections, not jus outgoing ones. If there were no incoming ones, how would you see what others are doing? -.-

To become an assassin make a beginner with around 4 or 5 str and int..dex and luk doesn't matter..then as you lvl raise your dex and luk..cap your dex at 25 before lvl 10 and put the rest into luk at lvl 10..go to kerning city and go into the fusion bar,go down the stairs,and talk to the dude with wings. then after you become a rogue buy a claw and stars, which are the weapons used as an assassin. when you start lvling after getting your gear make sure dex is 2x your lvl and the rest go into luk. when you hit 30 go back to the bar and talk to the guy again to start the quest to become an assassin.

2. is this game fun to play with friends?
Its so much more fun..and easier to lvl if your playing with friends

Yeah you can with an asortment of different armour and cash shop items

yeah it is considering the first server(scania) is almost always full

The ports don't really needed to be forwarded..i also have a router and have never had any problems with playing MS..but if you'd like i can find the ports for you

THankyou for your replys they were very helpful. i just have a small proble, i cannot start the game becuase i get an error saying "unable to connect to login", or somthing along those lines, i was thinking it might be my computer blocking it in some way?, i have my firewall tunred off, and the firewall in my router also is turned off?.

i once had maple story working ages ago (2 yrs), but now its not?

your help is greatly aprreciated

1. You have to become a Rogue at level 10 first, then at level 30 take the 2nd job advancement and pick Assassin as your advancement.

2. That's the only reason I go on. If my friends aren't online, I don't bother playing unless I plan on grinding.

Grr its still not working i keep getting the same error and i downloaded the game again iand tried it agian and still not working?

Why is everyone responding to his questions like ten times although he's already got the answers.

I don't really know what your problem could be, but reinstalling might always help.

1.At level 10 you go to Kerning city and become a rogue by talking to the Dark Lord. At level 30, go back to him and tell him you wanna be an assassin, you have to do an easy test. For an assassin, get these skills http://www.onrpg.com/boards/maple-story-guides/97-zadams-thief-guide-assassin/
Credits go to Zadam for guide. Never put anything for hp, mp, str, or int. Every level put 2 into DEX and 3 into LUK.
