Iv had it for maybe 2 years now but have only played it like for about a month once i got it. I was wondering if there are still alot of servers open? and are there alot of plp who still play. Thanks!'

On a another side note: Does unreal tournament 2004 have voice chat? if yes, how do i activate it.

I don't believe UT2K4 has voip, not many mp games don't have it yet because it can sometime be very hard to incorporate the software.

I'm sure people still play it (because it's a good game), the problem is that games like ut2k4 don't last very long because everyone plays the maps hundreds of times over, with no real reason to play, other than beating opponants that they may never play again. Sure, people make maps, but one of the problems with the UT series, thus far, is when you join a server playing a map you don't have, it can take forever to download. After finishing with that server, the game deletes the map.

UT and its engine is great, but my bet is that there are mods using its engine being played more than UT2K4 itself. (look at Half-Life, it lasted 7 years, because over 90% of its players were playing mods, rather than the origanal.)

Update: UT2k4 does have VOIP, i just got it to work and played a game with this guy for like 20 minutes and he was teachin me how to play :). He told me there are still hundreds of servers that still have tons of plp on.

The mp sucks 50 percent of the people who bought it played it for the awesome AI

My bad (I said I havn't played in a while)

But like I said, the problem with UT2K4 is that it's gotten old, and has no unlocks, tere's really nothing to look forward to except new player made maps.

But also take into consideration, UT2K7 is supposed to be ut this Christmas, so expect to see a sudden flurish of old players getting hyped up about the release.

-----
My real problem with UT2K4 is that it saps too much bandwisdth in online matches. I have excellent bandwidth, but not as much as DSL. UT just lags like all get out.
-----
Great, now I want to pop in my old copy and play a match or 2.

The Unreal Tournament series has always been amung the top of the list for fast paced action shooters. It provides veried options to frag your prey and promote a very exciting experience.

Essentially, the gameplay can be very addictive at times.

Ofcourse it's still alive, it's fucking Unreal Tournament.

However, I've just decided to move towards Gears of War till 2007 is released.
