i-Introduction Welcome to my 1st guide for the game Maple Story.
This being my first guide, don't flame mistakes/etc.
Simply PM me them and I'll fix em ASAP.
I've been playing as a Fire Wizard since the days of Beta,
so they're like my bread and butta u know.
=============================================
ii-Legal Stuff
This guide has been written by me, Christian G, and should not be
posted on other sites without first contacting me for permission.
=============================================
A1-Assumed Things
In this guide I assume that:
1) You have already EXTENSIVELY read up on how become a Magician,
and other matters related to Magicians.
2) All your 1st adv. skills are the typical skill build.
3) Proper Ability Point distribution.
4) That you have common sense.
=============================================
A2-Overview of the Fire Wizard
Fire Wizards are the strongest of all types of mages. As soon as
Fire Arrow is maxed your damage will become VERY stable
and hit 4digits numbers even at lvl40. Disadvantages of the
F-Wizard is that F-Arrow casts abit slower compared to other mages attack skills
and lack a mob control skill like Lightning till 3rd advancement.

End Result:
30sp Fire Arrow
20sp Meditation
20sp Teleport
20sp Slow
20sp MP Eater
11sp Poison Brace OR Magic Armour
=============================================
A4---Explanations on Skill Build
Fire Arrow was maxed ASAP because of known reasons. Meditation was
next because when maxed it adds +20magic att. That alone makes your
F-Wizard 5 levels stronger and stabilizes your damage.
However, the Teleport or Slow 1st really depends on where
and how you like to level. I choose slow 1st, mainly as a crowd control skill.
BUT teleport maxed does save ALOT of mesos when maxed ASAP.
Once again, it really depends on how you like to level and where.
MP Eater was next on the list because 3rd adv skills are mob attack
skills and saves you more mesos on MP pots.
Lastly...Poison Brace Vs. Magic Armour
I think both of this skills are utterly useless unless maxed. Just choose.
~My Opinion~
Poison Myst, the 3rd adv version of this skill, has no set limit on how many
monsters it had poison and lingers on the map for ALONG time.
Making Brace a waste of SP especially if u plan on making the 3rd adv.
===========================================
A5---Alterations on Skill Build
Basically Teleport and Slow can be switched around and u'll still
come out with the same final result.
=============================================
A6---Leveling Spots till lvl70
First off, ALWAYS ALWAYS TRAIN AT MONSTERS U CAN 1hit KO
or 2hit KO (only 2hit KO later on, like lvl55+) This will help u level
faster and at a steady pace.
The lvl40 and below lvls are old areas to lvl. Ludi probably has better areas
Level 30: Party Quest or continue with Horned/Green Mushrooms.
Level 31-35: Horned/Green Mushrooms until u can 100% 1 hit kill
Undead Shrooms (lvl35-36).
Level 35-40: Undead Mushrooms. Or Wild Boars.
Level 40-45: Jr.Grupins until u can 90% 1hit ko jr.pepes.
Level 45-55: Jr Pepes. Or if its too crowded Jr.Yetis
Level 55-68: Grupins
Level 68-70: White Pangs. You'll need about 420+ Magic Attack to 2hit kill em 90% of the time.
BUT at lvl69, switch over to Crown Flyer. The explanation will be in the lvl70-120 section.
=============================================
A7---Making the 3rd Advancement
Look here, too lazy to type lawl (http://www.hidden-street.net/characters/fire_mage.php)
=============================================
B1---Overview of the F/P MAGE
Finally...CHOICE! With 4 different builds you can choose which
one suits you best and hopefully follow it through to the end ^_^
Also, congratz on being the least popular mage. Being unique is bitchin.
Read on fellow F/P Mage, read on :)

Lvl 117 --3sp Element Composition

End Result:
30sp Fire Explosion
30sp Element Composition
28sp Poison Myst
30sp Element Amplification
20sp Seal
13sp Booster
Advantages:
Explosion is a MASS ATTACK! W00t!
Drops, EXP, crazy insane numbers when u mulitply by 6, equally
crazy insane range are the benefits of this skill >:)
Disadvantages:
Have to wait to use Element Composition...waiting for Explosion to be maxed.
The Element Amplification will eat your MP like crazy if your not careful.
Especially after lvl95.
Skill Explanations on F.E.Build:
If u, the readers haven't noticed, Booster has 13sp instead of 11sp.
(and Mist has a respectfully 28sp instead of 30sp)
Why?
Because of these 2 reasons:
-Mist has the same range, poison time, mastery at lvl 28 and lvl30
BUT BUT
at lvl30 it has 4 more base attack and 2% more poison rate.
-Partial Resistance is utterly useless in Ludi.
So if u don't mind leaving Mist at lvl28;
having a slightly longer Booster is never a bad choice.
BUT
If u want to have Mist at max level, just pump another 2sp into it
and u'll have the same build in the end.
In the end it comes down to personal choice for the Mist at lvl28 or max.

End Result:
30sp Fire Explosion
30sp Element Composition
28sp Poison Myst
30sp Element Amplification
20sp Seal
13sp Booster
Advantages:
You can finally replace Fire Arrow with a better, slightly faster attack ^_^
Neutral monsters will also be easier to kill now. Once a fire and poison weak
monster is released in gMS, Comp will have a KILLER 225 base attack.
Take that Thunder Spear!
Disadvantages:
Can't use Explosion have a nice lonnnnnggg time.
However, Mist is a excellent partner to Composition.
Skill Explanations on Element Composition Build:
The Mist at lvl28 and Booster at lvl13 explanation is in the F.E Explanation.
Other than that, nothin much to say here.
~My Opinion~
ONLY ONLY take this build if fire and poison weak monster(s) are released.
I personally would rather do the Dual Attack build instead of this one.

End Result:
30sp Fire Explosion
30sp Element Composition
28sp Poison Myst
30sp Element Amplification
20sp Seal
13sp Booster
Advantages:
You get the best of both worlds!
A powerful mass attack and a replacement for that old Fire Arrow!
U'll save meso on MP pots cuz Element Amp was put on hold.
Disadvantages:
You WILL not be as strong as other F/P Mages who went Element Amplification after Explosion.
Have to wait for Poison Mist, but Comp still enables u to poison and run.
Besides at later levels its best to solo monsters instead of mobbing.
Skill Explanations on Dual Attack Build:
The Mist at lvl28 and Booster at lvl13 explanation is in the F.E Explanation.
Other than that, nothin much to say here.
just kidding kekeke, mines gonna be really weird

30sp Element Amplification
20sp Seal
11sp Booster
Advantages:
SUPER FAST LEVELING TILL LVL95! If u're a leveling junky THIS IS THE BUILD FOR YOU!
What else....u'll never be KSed cuz they'll end up doing the work for u...
Disadvantages:
Poison Mist damage relys 100% on the monster HP. Pretty much damage
will never change because the monster HP is also set to a certain number.
So u'll be seeing the same exact numbers pop up for along time.
And, dew to popular disbelief, this build costs around the same as the other 3 builds.
TOUCH DAMAGE PEOPLE TOUCH DAMAGE. jeez.
What else.....of course (utterly retarded)
FART JOKES!
~Update~
With the new drops in gMS, this build is EVEN more costly.
No more Kages from those Grims, Mist fans.
Skill Explanations on Poison Mist Build:
To be added in the near future. Probably when I get some info from
someone whos doing this build.

End Result:

30sp Element Composition
30sp Poison Mist
30sp Element Amplification
20sp Seal
11sp Booster
Advantages:
With this build u can take on bigger stronger monsters with ease.
I've been told a lvl26 Mist leaves enough HP left on a grim/shark to kill in a Explosion.
Also once Element Composition is max, you should/will be ready to take on a Zakum if u feel u need too.
Disadvantages:
Since you will be maxing Element Composition right after Poison Mist, damage is obviously be
lower then a lets say, a Explosion-Amp Mage. But however Mist will cleary make up for the "lost damage"
Skill Explanations on Explosion Support Build:
My variant of the old and dated Explosion Build.
Since Mist pretty much leaves most high monsters at low amounts of hp after a misting...
it seemed clear to me that Mist would be the far greater choice over Amp. Also after trying
Phantom Watches with only a lvl1 Seal (and getting pot raped in the process)
I decided to throw in a lvl5 Seal which has a 50% chance of Sealing, hence making the hit and run
tactic easier. Element Composition was next because it has a stronger base att compared to F-Arrow
and be the lvl10x, I'd personally would like to have a new single target attack.
No, this is not my build. f3 Mines already getting weird...er.

B3---Leveling Spots till lvl85
*UPDATED AUGUST 1,2006*
Level 70: Crown Flyer yo. Great drops+spawn, never boring.
Need I say more?
Level 71-78: Time for Ludi! Ghost Pirates are the best bet during
this time period. I HIGHLY recommend u stay at G.Pirates.
Even though the exp is less than Death Teddies, STAY HERE.
The drops rates are good and the drops themselves are actually worth something.
Level 78-85: Time to upgrade to DUAL PIRATES!
I know what u're saying......
"OMG U NOOB, ALL THE GUIDES ON SW.NET SAY U GO THERE AT LVL85! -insert evil smiley-"
Wrong wrong wrong. Its all a conspicary I say.
At lvl78 u can knockback Dualies a good percentage of the time
and the bump and magic damage is nearly identical to Ghost Pirates.
=============================================
B3a---Leveling Spots after lvl85 to lvl120-Build Divided
If you went Fire Explosion Build
Level 85-95: Dual Pirates=great exp and fun.
Mass kill Jr.Yetis, Grupins or try a mass spawnage map on Victoria
(like Cursed Sanctuary II) if u get bored outta your skull.
Level 96-104: Normal Phantom Watches
Level 105-120: Grim Phantom Watches or Gigantic Vikings
----------------------------------------------------------
If you went Magic Composition Build
Level 86-95: Same as FE leveling areas
Level 95-104: Normal Phantom Watches
Level 105-120: Grim Phantom Watches or Gigantic Vikings
----------------------------------------------------------
If you went Dual Attack Build
Level 86-95: Same as FE leveling areas
Level 95-104: Normal Phantom Watches
Level 105-120: Grim Phantom Watches or Gigantic Vikings
----------------------------------------------------------
If you went Poison Mist (1st) Build
Level 70-73: Crown Flyer
Level 74-78: Ghost Pirates
Level 78-80: Dual Pirates
Level 80-120: Gigantic Vikings or Normal/Grim Phantom Clocks. Your choice :)
=============================================
B4---Ludibrium/Ludi
Um...Ludibruim...where to start....
Bascially just about all the monsters here are weak to fire.
Awesome you're thinking right? Wrong! (sorta)
Although this is a great thing, on the other hand its sucks.
Five Words: TOUCH DAMAGE and POT COSTS
So what does that mean? Well for one, Magic Guard is gonna be your new best friend
Even though we have great skills like Slow, Seal (and knockback) to keep the touch damage low...its still going to happen.
Teleporting, "surprise" spawns...etc.
No Magic Guard=instant death.
With Magic Guard=ability to level and pot costs.
Secondly...pot costs.
Since we have already accepted the fact Magic Guard is going to be that
annoying little brother/sister who always follow you around, it brings up another "issue"...which is pot costs.
First and foremost,
POT COSTS ARE NOT A ISSUE TILL LEVEL100.
Later on however it will rear its ugly head. Why?
Dual Ghost Pirates.
These monster are the saviours for all F/P Mages out there.
Flat out excellent drops (both equip and meso wise) and the
set-up and spawn rate of this map is just as awesome.
The only problem with these monsters....horrible exp after lvl105ish.
If you want to level faster, you will have to leave here and move onto deadlier monsters.
Grims, Sharks, Squids for example.
Its a shame that these monsters give great exp but are coupled with
possibly the worst drops and damaging attacks ever I feel.
However, Poison Mist makes all these maps child play so...:3
There are alot more factors involved to the pot costs of a leveling F/P Mage
I honestly admit. Luck, the ability to super scroll items, and when you get
Mist are the main three. But I'll talk in-depth about this more in its own section.
Next section is a in-depth breakdown of the Ludi Maps. :D
=============================================
B4a--The Ludi Monsters Breakdown Chart
---------------------------------------------------------
Warped Path of Time 3:
What monsters are found here?
Ghost Pirates
30000 HP
Weak to fire
3200 KB
1100 EXP
Bafoons
16000 HP
Resistant to fire
1500 KB
340 EXP
---------------------------------------------------------
Recommended for: Level 70+
---------------------------------------------------------
How Ghost Pirates attack: Their attack pattern very simple.
Heres a simple list:
1) They will NEVER attack as long as you stay close to them.
2) If you are slightly higher then them THEY WILL ATTACK.
(off ground level, like jumping or on a rope for example)
3) Their magic attack is not AVOIDABLE.
4) If you are DIRECTLY ABOVE or BELOW them they cannot attack.
---------------------------------------------------------
How Bafoons attack: Nothing special here.
All they do is slam down their giant clock. This attack is not avoidable.
---------------------------------------------------------
Description of map:
This is a pretty large map...even for Ludi.
It is full of alot of safe spots to spam Explosion/F-Arrow without the worry of touch damage.
The Bafoons only spawn near the top of the map.
However they are very annoying to kill, being weak to fire and all.
The rest of the map is full of Ghost Pirates. Most of this maps spawn
happens on the bottom level so Explosion makes easy exp out of them
on the far left platform.
Move in a clockwise pattern for full exp gain.
---------------------------------------------------------
Overall Rating of this map (skill wise):
Explosion: :3 :3 :3 /:3 :3 :3 :3 :3 (4/5)
-Lots of safe spots to explode from.
-Monsters have a habit of mobbing.
Poison Mist: :3 /:3 :3 :3 :3 :3 (1/5)
-HP for both monsters are too low to make Mist a great help here.
Seal: :( /:3 :3 :3 :3 :3 (0/5)
-Pointless here, once you have seal u'll kill these monsters with extreme ease.
Slow: :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 /:3 :3 :3 :3 :3 (5/5)
-Helps avoid touch damage
-Helps keep mobbed up monsters in Explosion range.
Element Composition: :3 :3 /:3 :3 :3 :3 :3
-Doesn't replace F-Arrow, as poison half doesn't add to much more damage.
Overall Rating: :3 :3 :3 :3 / :3 :3 :3 :3 :3
-Great alternative to Death Teddies for those who don't want to waste pots.

i-Introduction Welcome to my 1st guide for the game Maple Story.
This being my first guide, don't flame mistakes/etc.
Simply PM me them and I'll fix em ASAP.
I've been playing as a Fire Wizard since the days of Beta,
so they're like my bread and butta u know.

ii-Legal Stuff
This guide has been written by me, Christian G, and should not be
posted on other sites without first contacting me for permission.
=============================================
=============================================

20sp Teleport
20sp Slow
20sp MP Eater
11sp Poison Brace OR Magic Armour
=============================================
===========================================
A5---Alterations on Skill Build
Basically Teleport and Slow can be switched around and u'll still
come out with the same final result.
=============================================

A7---Making the 3rd Advancement
Look here, too lazy to type lawl (http://www.hidden-street.net/characters/fire_mage.php)
=============================================
B1---Overview of the F/P MAGE
Finally...CHOICE! With 4 different builds you can choose which
one suits you best and hopefully follow it through to the end ^_^
Also, congratz on being the least popular mage. Being unique is bitchin.

So if u don't mind leaving Mist at lvl28;
having a slightly longer Booster is never a bad choice.
BUT
If u want to have Mist at max level, just pump another 2sp into it
and u'll have the same build in the end.

End Result:

=============================================
B3a---Leveling Spots after lvl85 to lvl120-Build Divided
If you went Fire Explosion Build
Level 85-95: Dual Pirates=great exp and fun.
Mass kill Jr.Yetis, Grupins or try a mass spawnage map on Victoria
(like Cursed Sanctuary II) if u get bored outta your skull.
Level 96-104: Normal Phantom Watches
Level 105-120: Grim Phantom Watches or Gigantic Vikings
----------------------------------------------------------
If you went Magic Composition Build
Level 86-95: Same as FE leveling areas
Level 95-104: Normal Phantom Watches
Level 105-120: Grim Phantom Watches or Gigantic Vikings
----------------------------------------------------------
If you went Dual Attack Build
Level 86-95: Same as FE leveling areas
Level 95-104: Normal Phantom Watches
Level 105-120: Grim Phantom Watches or Gigantic Vikings
----------------------------------------------------------
If you went Poison Mist (1st) Build
Level 70-73: Crown Flyer
Level 74-78: Ghost Pirates
Level 78-80: Dual Pirates
