i thought archers are strong during 3rd job but when u search the rankings its hard to find archers.

i play archer too.a xcrossbowmen lvl 31 lolz.its hard to lvl up.cuz low hp.but can shoot fast and far lolz.

Unfunded archers are a PAIN to level. Almost as "bad" has double stab bandits.

Anyways, most don't like the style of play needed to play an archer. Others solely believe that archers are utterly weak.
Funded people usually create an assassin or warrior, as they are "the better choice" also. I personally love my hunter =)

actually more ppl want to hop onto the acher/sniper bandwagon however they fail to due to the fact that archers are hard to lvl and ppl give up during the 40-50 hell period.

theres actually been a increase on archers in ms but not as much as sins or dks.

Archers are hated because they have the worst damage stabalization in the game, and 3rd job is a longggggggggg wait to have good skills. Personally, I said "I will NEVER have an archer!", and I made one. I don't really play it yet, I'm leveling him on Huckle, just up to 30 then playing. I may change my oppinion.

wots rong with iron arrow? it does very gd damage wen maxed. i have to wait till about 80+ before my hermit gets some decent skills. probably about lvl 90 before my avenger is half maxed. archers will be maxing bomb/iron arrow at lvl 50/60 (depending on skill build) thats a gd 30/40 lvls difference.

also u dont have a archer past 40 which means u dont even have mastery yet so u cant really talk about there stable or how unstable their damage is. and i can tell u, there damage is stable. (obviously not as stable as a dks or a cbs) BUT wen ur fiting monsters like death teddies as long as u kill them at a stable rate then stable damage does not become a factor.

stable damage IMO is only important wen u want to 1hit ko, other than that i dont find it that important as long as i kill Dts etc at a stable rate.

where as sins can lvl at an insane rate due to the fact they have high damage and even higher if you get decent stars

i was just wonderin the same thing, kuz in fact i think archer is the best class. There is really no need for pots or anythin, and arrows r easy to get.
I had a funded sin, a mage, but they r both overplayed and tiring. warriors just get repetitive because you dont really get different attacking skills till the 3rd job. personnally, archers are the best class

Some skills as much as triple from level 1 to 30, so don't doubt this.

And cheapness isn't an excuse anymore for being a bowmen. From the low of 300k last year, 60% bow scrolls are being sold at an average of 600k-1m in the free market.
Additionally, Arund drops have been changed from mass-trained areas to empty, desolate lands such as bains.

Unfortunately, due to lack of STRless Bows, by level 60, they would become weaker than normal bowman.
Approximately 3 dex = 1 attack. Sure you save some 15 or so attack, but in a few bows, from soul searcher, it'll even out. In a mage where INT=Magic Attack, this concept would probably work, but I doubt it would be a success in a bowman.

yea, str-less archers just ain't as good as other unique stat classes. even with a good BOMD, a ranger with just a decent metus can out damage it.

Even knowing this, it still wouldn't stop me from leveling my hunter to lvl50 (and possibly onwards).
I always found my hunter to be tons o' fun, even before I had Double Shot.

I am quite sure you have not tried the archer job before sakumo! they can make arrows before they have soul arrow. and they have a skill called power knockback which does more dmg and has a higher chance of knockbacking. their not weak! its just that their damage is uncontralable meaning their damage is sometimes high and somtimes low. their equipment is cheap, good looking and good. people don't hate archers! they have range more than sins! so i ask you to try make your archer a pro and find out whether its weak!

Sins can jump over monsters and hit monsters behind it. Bowman shoot, and if they jump over a monster while shooting, the bowman whacks it instead. It's basically jumping really quickly after shooting an arrow.

how ever, still very effective ^^ i used to dodge plenty of DTs magic attacks by jump shooting and never mind speeding up training at zombies X_x my god that was hell (lvl 50-80)

the hell periods are 40-60 and 70-75

60-70 is quite fun and 75+ is just awesome with some gd points into strafe.

y are snipers/rangers slow? they can get 140% speed and 120% jump quite easily. i myself had ~134% speed (ic 2, bone helm, speed dex shoes, speed pot) easily done.

as i have done damage calculations, snipers ARE stronger than hermits BUT once past 110 hermit's damage surpasses snipers. just fyi ^^

+20 More range shouldn't decide what class you choose. The reason people usually pick Assasin cause Stars can Boost your attk. Bowman always cant do that. Unless you want to pay the rediculous Price of 10Mesos per Bronze Arrow.

Even if Bowmen are stonger, an Assasin could easily KS and got good party Skills.

I enjoy archers, the problem is that most they get pretty boring once in a while, and tend to be even more boring then warriors in total.
Unless you can jump shot, which takes some skill, which most over weighted people dont possess nowadays.

I agree with dazzatron archers don't really attack that slow but sins attack faster.

Actually, I believe regular strafe shoots 72-74 shots/minute.

EDIT: Bow with booster and strafe is 87 shots/minute according to wiki.

im not talking about strafe, im talking about their new skill hurricane.

For all of you who thinks Archers suck go suck my shlong. My xBow at level 47 can outdamage any other class at the same level. Most people go Assassin because they think jump shooting is so cool. Guess what? It gets boring after about level 35.
And how can you not jump and attack with an Archer? It's called pressing jump and attack at the same time morons. What's up with the damn noobs in MS these days.

But I agree with Random, Sins get boring after 35 (trust me, I have a 36 Sin) they have high damage and all, but what's so fun about standing in one spot and spamming Lucky Seven? It's not even a cool skill. My friend got to 65 easily on his Hunter. He quit, though, but for a different reason. And, to tell you the truth, I've only gotten to 17 on an Archer before, but that was when I was a noob. XD My one friend quit when he was 27 as an Archer and he said he'd come back if someone leveled him to 30. >.>

Oh, and what's so awesome with 140% speed for like 3 minutes? Archers can get 130% Speed PERMANENTLY! It's called Thrust people >.>

sins dont get boring trust me i have lvl 79 hermit :) oh and trust me snipers do get boring, BUT so do every other class.

u say "what's so fun about standing in one spot and spamming Lucky Seven?" nothings fun about it, cuz no one does it, thats one reason i made a hermit, is cuz hermits make the game more interesting BECUZ snipers skills are jus too dam gd. they make u so that u can stand in one spot and strafe. hermits require skill (snipers do too dont get me rong) as in jump shooting and dodging stuff its just fun =) but snipers, mark my word, can jump shoot and dodge too. just not as well :p

if u knew anything about the wide range of skils snipers and rangers have u'd also kno they dont have enuf points to actually use them on all the skills. thurst shud NEVER be maxed becuz 1) waste of sp 2) u can gain 140% speed by a) using speed equips -very easily acheived b) train with hermit. u'll end up training in parties at higher lvl due to the better exp than soloing (unless u goby XD )

If Sins aren't supposed to spam Lucky Seven, then what do I see EVERY SIN do when they train? It's basically the ONLY way to do good damage. And if you think Archers have unstable damage, try a Spearman, one hit you'll do lke 1100, the next will do about 90 >.<

as cool as bomb can be, in turns of damage i'd rather spam L7. oh and in 3rd hermits do get other skills. and one skill happens to be the funnest skill...flash jump XD

in terms of skills wise in 2nd job most classes only get around 1-2 skills to play with any way and sins happen to only have one skill however the damage calculator for that skill is absolutely insane! XD

@SorenEmblem: L7 is sin's way of dealing GREAT damage. and classes get boring if ur impatient. u havent even lvled a class to a great height yet and ur judging things. at lvl 50 u cud probably start doing some comparison work at 30 u cant becuz u just havent had the exp.
