well, really you can live a pretty normal life with diabetes, it will be a hindrance for a while, but you'll adapt, and as you're friggin like 13-17 probly, I wouldn't worry.

gosh i hope so. diabetes must be a pain, having to check urself like every hour, and giving urself insulin. i hope they cure it soon.

im hoping its still possible to prevent, and not just delay, by exercising and eating good.

Its not so bad. I have to check my bloodsugar 4 times a day and i get insulin 3 times a day. After a year or two its not that bad.

EDIT: Type 1 is genetics or you can just get it out of nowhere. Type 2 is more common when someone is overweight. You can still have sugar with type 2 just not alot of it and you have to watch out what you eat.

Is there not a type of diabetes where you just need to make sure your blood sugar stayed high enough, without the insulin? I did a study on insulin once, and with it, you can live a normal life. it was invented by a canadian! also, they have painless (or near enough) ways of checking blood sugar. I met a guy on Knight Online once, really nice guy. we partied for like a few hours, and then he said afk, and I waited for about fifteen minutes. he came back and said, sorry, my blood sugar was low, and i said LOL! yeah, so was mine, I grabbed my slurpee to get hyper again! and then he said no, dude, I have diabetes. and then I swore a lot and felt really bad.

Well im not sure if this is what ur asking but. When you have Diabetes type 1 your pancreas does not work at all you need insulin and have to balance carbs. Type 2 your Pancreas still works but not as great as a normal person's therefore you have to watch what you eat and exercise. Hope that cleared it up.

ah. thanks! I did think that was the case... I knew (not personally) a guy with type 2, i think, even though he was really active, and they said if he started to get really dizzy or act weird, we should try giving him something with sugar in it to keep him from having a seizure or passing out.

well my dad side, has diabetes(every one) my mom side no one does( i mean no one, dateing back 100 apon 100 of years(ok maybe just alittle more than a 100 as said by my 101 year old great great grandmother befor she died...) but any ways, yeah so i might get it... but i might be immune to getting it(lots a fat white people in moms side so yeah no one has ever got it... imunitty? maybe) so i mean, its really up in the blue...

Its not bad, i mean its not good, but as they said, its not a hassle really after the first few years... my dad goes into the bathroom casualy and just injects himself with insilin and goes on with his normal life... he prob spends about 5 min a day with it... 5 min. thats it...

im guessing u got a low chance cause ur mom got homozygous dominant fro NOT having diabetes, and ur dad got homozygous recessive for diabetes, and if diabetes is recessive, and if u do the punnet square, u shouldnt get it, but im not sure, i might be wrong, im still in biology:p

i think theres an unofficial type 3, its the kind u get when u give birth, most of us dont have to worry unless ur female...

smackhack, its a serious disease, if u dont control it, u get kidney failure, death, or even blindness

I heard when your diabetic in your adult/matured age (lets say 40-60), is that when you got a big cut or wound on any part of your body (but I heard its always on the foot), your gonna need to CUT it... My grandfather...is one of them...so...just a heads-up.

Nah...that's just if you don't take care of yourself. And I'm not even going to worry because by the time I'm that age, there will be a cure. Actually I'm guessing there will be a cure in 5 years at the MOST.

im betting within 50 years. there will be a cure eventually, im almost sure of it. all they gotta do is find a way to fix the diabetic gene, and the number of diabetes will cut dramatically.
