View Full Version : ONRPG: Target Practice for Shock sites/images?

This is a quite concerning issue about OnRPG, as one of the internet's guide to finding free MMOs for us to connect to various MMOs, we are extremely vulnerable to Shock sites, in my last 2 months I think I had the unpleasant experience of seeing shock images. Which is an anonying issue. Do you believe Onrpg is more vulnerable as site to shock siters and stuff?

The entire internet can be used.

It doesn't stop here.... There's shocks, or what I'd prefer to call them, traps, everywhere. Anywhere you can post a link, there can be a trap.

Whats a shock image...? The crap 4chan loyalists post in raids? Willy Wonka's Shock Tarts?

I don't think it's more vulnerable than other sites, just some people have a grudge against it for whatever reason and feel like pissing the rest of us off. Just ignore it - it might not go away, but at least it won't get you as angry about it.

In fact, you can even joke about it, like with the advertising in the RP threads.

There are many ways one could easily spam onrpg...

Its just a matter of how much persistance they have, and how fast we are :)

Perhaps Ridley's idea could also be extended to images (including in signatures) or something.

And we are pretty fast, but these guys pop up a lot more then other sites from my personal experience (Went through a shock image earlier, not pleasant for the eyes)

You'd be surprised what can be done with one trace. How many proxies do you think he's routed through? 2? 3? Not hard to trace through.

EDIT: The old lemonparty trick aye? That's as old as the hills (in a figurative rather than literal sense)

I have this feeling Sandman doesn't really care about my idea for some reason....

Added to that a flood-prevention measure until 50 posts.

That isn't a good idea. You've got to think about other sections too. Many people sign up just to advertise about upcoming games, or shamelessly promoting their games/website. It would be a lost if they couldn't inform us with the information we might need.
