Seeing the grave mood everyone on onrpg is experiencing, I decided we needed something to completely change onrpg for the good. A complete reform. Getting onrpg to what it used to be, a loveable joyous gaming community. I would like to stress that these points are for discussion.
1-Back to the good old onRPG Skin:
The old skin always used to spread warmth in my heart. I want a nice confined dark gaming related skin for this forum.
2-Joking, less debates and arguments. More gaming related giddy conversations.
3-Less rivalries, maybe aboloshing the graphics shop area or putting strict rules on critisizm.
4-More active moderators who will follow the rules. Also moderators who do not care for darn personal problems and will not let that get in the way of them while they try to make onRPG a better place.
5-A new advertising campagin.
6-More maturity, I dont want onRPG to become a debate ridden flame fest as most sites have evolved into.
7-Simpler morals, thoughts and experiences. Less hostility and more personal love to each other.
Things like these will truly make onRPG better. What do you think?

There is plenty of immaturity as is and thats actual one of the factors that are influencing people to leave if that hasn't become painfully obvious enough...-_-

1-Back to the good old onRPG Skin:
The old skin always used to spread warmth in my heart. I want a nice confined dark gaming related skin for this forum.
Just use the panel at the bottom left corner of the page. Change it to midnight blue, and voila! You're happy again.
2-Joking, less debates and arguments. More gaming related giddy conversations.
What may I ask is wrong with debates? Some of us enjoy the chance of challeging others thoughts without the need to flame. This is the general section, and we're supposed to be talking about things in general. Just because this is a game site doesn't mean everthing we say needs to be related to gaming.
3-Less rivalries, maybe aboloshing the graphics shop area or putting strict rules on critisizm.
Let the moderators handle that. I say get that for every forum section, not just the Graphics.
4-More active moderators who will follow the rules. Also moderators who do not care for darn personal problems and will not let that get in the way of them while they try to make onRPG a better place.
That's for Gabriel to decide. Keep in mind, the moderators were chosen for a reason.
5-A new advertising campagin.
A what? What exactly do you mean?
6-More maturity, I dont want onRPG to become a debate ridden flame fest as most sites have evolved into.
More maturity? Well, you might be the last one to say that. Maturity isn't something everyone has. Some people are extremely mature, others aren't. It's not something you can choose, it's something you'll need to get used to. Not everyone in this forum needs to be mature.
7-Simpler morals, thoughts and experiences. Less hostility and more personal love to each other.
That's up to the members of this forum. Do you think we can accomplish it?

Well exactly, we have seen debates and in all honesty most of the forum members are pretty much irresponsible people when in debating conidtions. There is a fine line between debating and flaming. People cant really put their fingers on it.
If you just say, let the mods do this, let the mods do that. Nothing much will happen for the majority are normal members and the normal members must start trying to post useful, humourous or thoughtful posts. Not just flaming spam.

Again, I take that as an insult. Considering I made a post for people to discuss improving forums I didn't expect that kind of answer. Which is a kind of immature answer.
If your talking based on that set up post by kichi, I need to remind you that I didn't do it. Its stupid of you to think so anyway.
That's up to the members of this forum. Do you think we can accomplish it?
Yes, I have hope embedded in everyone, even kichi.

I would appreciate mods who visited to "suggestions and feedback". It doesn't feel like anyone on the staff can actually change the site.
-Oh, and you can't smack maturity into members, unless we decide to ban every single member that can't type correctly, and onrpg isn't strong enough to lose members.

Quoting for truth.
It's ultimately up to the entire members as a whole. What the Staff do will hardly make a difference, beyond warning and locking.

Lets make ONRPG better by banning the snobby people. I think itll set itself straight when the snobby "Dammit Im the sig God" people have "Permanent Ban" under their names.

Yes, Ultimately the members choose how their forum wants to be like. But then again, the moderators are the forums security and the forums role models. If we have bad, useless moderators. The members will lose respect, flame insult and ravage. Its a two sided job. Neither side can do without. So all im asking is for co-operations between the members and moderators.

Availer, I suggest you talking to Phoix when you say that you didn't do anything. You might be surprised about what he says. Immature answer? Who said I wasn't immature? I know I'm not mature at a lot of times. I don't need 500 people telling me so.
Changing onrpg would mean changing the way people act, and they way they think. Like I've said before, it's all up the the members to do it. So, instead of complaining about the staff, for once complain about the people who post here.
Edit: Moderators are not the star of the show. We are. If we all left, and only the moderators were left, what good are they? Mods are here to keep us in order. But it's like a one man army. They can't possibly do everything. If you read my post in the thread by Legend, you'll see what I suggest we could try and do.

I disagree with the changing the way people act. I think that it is soley based on what they give from their personalities. If someone just gives hostility all the time yet he does have compassion in his heart, they are holding back emoticions. That is what is happening on the forums. People had a disregard of other people, thinking they are animals and insulting them as if it is ok to abuse humans for fun.
I am complaining about the members, I am telling members to be more thoughtful about their posting.

It has always been like this. Mature to immature and from a immature personnality, the forum went back to mature. That is the circle of life. So is the forum. The old forums WAS loveable to some extend but it was pretty much chaos at some point also. There is need for a downhill in order for a rising to come.
1-Back to the good old onRPG Skin:
The old skin always used to spread warmth in my heart. I want a nice confined dark gaming related skin for this forum.
Old skin or not, Skin does not determines game related or not. Actually, Skin has nothing to do with the so called "Onrpg Downhill"
2-Joking, less debates and arguments. More gaming related giddy conversations.
Gaming Section is located elsewhere. This is the General section meant for NON-GAMING subjects. It's a gaming forum but it doesntm ean we have to discuss about games every single thread we create.
3-Less rivalries, maybe aboloshing the graphics shop area or putting strict rules on critisizm.
You want the Mod to take away our freedom of expressing opinions.
4-More active moderators who will follow the rules. Also moderators who do not care for darn personal problems and will not let that get in the way of them while they try to make onRPG a better place.
Onrpg is filled with LOTS OF PERSONNAL PROBLEMS. You think they can handle it much. Also, it's "personnal" by bother to get in others thing? For me, I rather stay away form tourble than diving into one.
5-A new advertising campagin.
We do not need any advertissement. Onrpg is simply Big enough already.
6-More maturity, I dont want onRPG to become a debate ridden flame fest as most sites have evolved into.
Debates are filled with flames because people cannot accept their opinions or beliefs to be crushed by what we call FACTS. More or less, flames appear in debates because some people does not refere their beliefs or opinions with what we call Logics. Other words, unreasonable.
7-Simpler morals, thoughts and experiences. Less hostility and more personal love to each other.
Experience are aquirre through having problems.
Morals are self taught and it's not like we can learn them in one day.
Thoughts cannot be controlled, it's person-wise.
Hostilities cannot be controlled as lots of Gamers have absolutely no life at all.
Personnal Love are personnal things. Do not bring you personnal stuff in forums. No one give a damn about it.
The thing that Onrpg need is a new rule which indicate this.
" Think before you post. "

Well did I say that? I only said that media is very bias and we shouldn't extract logical reasoning what the media shows us.
Is it not possible for somebody to be entitled to their opinions. Have I caused much hurt to peoples by posting different thoughts and concerns about this forum. The stubborness of these members always seems to amaze me.

Yes if they cause harm to others, they shouldn't be allowed to be expressed. Opinions that are reasonable will abide by the forum laws.

Availer, you've managed to get a big part of the community against you. I respect you as much as the next guy, but this reform business is pretty farfetched.
I suggest you stop trying to make the forum better, because every attempt of yours is an inch deeper in that hole you're digging.

It's onRPG "employees" who make the choice. I suggest we make new forums.
No one will know the out come though, onRPG never changed until new forums
came out for some reason. So it's a mystery if we wipe, will we turn into a better community?
Let the forum find its way, we will manage... I hope

Oh.. my.. ****. Man, the downfall of onRPG started when the flamers came. When the rules were changed. Those are the the big issues. The skin has nothing to do with it. PLUS! If you'd check the NEW skin.. (bottom left) entitled "OnRPG 2.0" you can see they are working on it.
What about bringing back the old onRPG.. I mean I know it was "easily hacked" but I'm sure someone.. like TLM, or Sandy could manage to do something about it. I like these boards and all, but the new ones owned way more ***. It also might piss a lot of the new flaming members off, because they will lose their posts, and have to register again. Maybe some of them will forget about it, and just leave. They are all the same, except gigabit and Shadow Of The Lost Empire. That's all I can come up with. We had some rough edges back in the day too. We had flamers. The thing is.. the reason we had flamers there is because we used to have a "flame wars" forum. That started some of it, I'm sure.

Onrpg was Hacked
Onrpg Rules were changed
Onrpg went down for quite sometime for changing a board to another.
Onrpg was invaded by immature emo kids
it has totally no issu with the skin or not. it's jsut a matter of colors and not community. Not like you will hate your parents for putting black pants or pink.

i usually try to stay out of those onrpg is going down, or its dying. but this time i am going to put in my opinon about all of this. About a month ago it seemed that onrpg was doomed with flamers and a-holes, but in the past week and half i can see a MAJOR change. I have saw numerous time in the past week were i would see someone post somthing that would have been flamed to hell a month ago, but insteed everyone was mature and put in a bunch of good advice.
I also think that onrpg is going to have its up and downs and hopefully we will have a break and onrpg will just keep getting better, but this want happen with a little bit of speedbumps in the was, and if we all stop being so dramatic about these little speedbumps then as i said things will get better.
And for mods i think that they are doing a good job and that we should't blame them for everything that goes wrong. they can only do so much, so give them a break every once in a while. It would be great if we didn't need mods in the first place because that would mean that there are no bad topics and no one is breaking the rules.
About those good members leaving- i know that it is hard and surprising that some of the better and older members to leave but shit happens so everyone stop leaving just because saint, warhorse, TLM are leaving because there will be more great people coming along, they may never take the place of them, but it will make for a better comunity.
Please everyone hang in there and if you see that there is a lack of good threads and you feel the need to rant, ***** or other THEN JUST COOL DOWN because you will do nothing but start hell, instead make a diffrence and think of some cool threads and post them, because if you do that onrpg will seem more appealing.
And if another member has done somthing wrong you should not hold a grudge on him and flame his *** to kingdom come because that would be awful, instead correct him and try to get him to apologize. If the member dosn't apologize then just forgit about the problem because it is bound to pass.

Icy speaks the truth. When OnRPG got hacked by script-kiddies it started going down it seems like. But now it is forum wars. Everyone needs to stop taking sides, stop competeing of which forum is better, this is a gaming forum too anyway not one big army against another, all communitys have mature and not mature people, its inevidble its just the rules that maintain it. SilverIce isnt being a suck up because Sandy is a true mod who is trying to keep order unlinke some others who really go into these forum wars type of things and SilverIce is supporting them. You guys should also look up too Endless because that kid has a lot of wisdom if you dont look deep enough it his posts.
