I want the alienware laptop m9700 which is better than their desktop equivelent they offer for 2300+ im trying to get my parents to buy it and my dad says he wants the desktop and i really dont, i want the lappy damnit! lol. But i need some good things to say to my dad to get him to change his mind any suggestions

i know like 5 reasons off the top of my head why desktop is better then lappy:

desktop is cheaper

desktop is more powerful (much better for gaming)

desktop doesent break as easily

desktop is upgradeable

no battery changing for desktop.

a lot of lappys dont have numeral pads, some do though

u can make a desktop, u cant make a lappy (or can u?)




besides, alienware is ripoff, just make one, lots cheaper, or pay someone to make one. it can still look cool, with cool lights and stuff, and be just as powerful, just like 1500 dollars cheaper

U can make a 'lappy' but the parts are gonna be way more expensive, since its sized down to laptop version.

Ok well for my company I am going to get a 13,000$ alien ware DESKTOP but for the casual gamer these are the pros and cons of each one

Desktop:

Pros:
Stronger, and can take allot more punishment
Fully upgradeable
Not easily stolen
Windows Vista (best version, with all alien ware products)

Cons:
Big, bulky, and needs allot of space
Can’t take it around

Laptop:

Pros:
Easy access
Take it around everywhere
Wireless features (play games anywhere)
Lightweight, and takes up little space
Windows vista

Cons:
Easy to be stolen
Easy to break
Mostly upgradeable
More expensive for the most part (I think)

it depends what kind of games you like, If you are a WoW addict, your going to get a laptop(goes for any mmorpg thats p2p and you can get addicted to) because you can play it whenever and wherever you have time. if your a casual gamer, you get a desktop so that you can play and play well, fast, no lag, but it all depends how much your willing to pay

Lappy :3 has a problem on overheating that can actually fry your motherboard or HD (happened to my cousin) and the replace parts cost nearly a whole new desktop computer. sigh. Thats why I would go for desktop. :3
