Final Fantasy: Crystallis (forgive me if I spelled it wrong)

Edits:
Yay, got back from my trip, I still have 3 more days to screw around before I go to school again.

Edit:
Arcs/Shifts was deleted on Saturday, December 30th, 2006
__________________________________________________ _____________________________________

Setting:

Takes place in the same world as the games: Final Fantasy Tatics/Tatics Advanced, Final Fantasy 12, Vagrant Story (mainly in FF12 though, meaning Dalmasca, Archadia, etc. etc.).

Plot:
In the past, people used a form of power called "crystals" which was passed down by the god Bahamut in order to keep life continuing for society. However, the crystals were abandoned after over use and abusing its power that it possessed.
Recently, architects were able to find the crystals, and now their power is being used once again.

Story:
Over the years, the continent Ivalice has been corrupted since the sudden disappearance of members of the Supreme Court (judges) and the unknown death of the emperor. Because of this, government has become unstable and unorderly (I know, not a word <_<); A dictator who follows the same blood line of the previous ruler has now taken control of the continent, caring no other then the crystals for his own selfish beneficial reasons, executing those who oppose him, slaving away those who are innocent, and testing the power of that he obtains from the crystals to burn cities and villages to his own entertainment.

However, like all fantasy stories, there are always some heroes(s) that save the day.

Changes from FF12 and other Ivalice based games:

-Judges exist as law masters of the continent, not just for Archadia
-There is a main emperor that rules the entire Ivalice, Kings and Queens only make personal decisions for their nation, they do not possess as much power as the Emperor.
-The continents Ordalia, Valendia, and Kerwon are now nations
-Cid is an air ship pilot in this game, not a scientist like in FF12
-Bahamut is a god, not a fortress.

Hero: Role Taken
Name: Arshes Selaessi (SorenEmblem)
Age: 19
Gender: Male

Appearance: Tall (About 6'1"), tanned skin, and dark hair. His hair is usually at about neck length or slightly shorter.
Backround History: He was the son of a nobleman. When his parents were mysteriously murdered, he got his parents' WHOLE fortune in their will. (And we don't mean thousands of Gil, we're talking MILLIONS!!!) The first thing he bought? An airship. Apparently, millions of Gil wasn't enough. He wanted more. He wanted some.....excitement in his life. Sky Pirating was just the thing for him. He now has a hefty price on his name. Currently running away from the influences of a very rich nobleman. He has found himself many rivals and enemies aswell, including a rival sky pirate named (name of Companion 2).
Personality: He's normally calm and level headed. But he can be quite hotheaded sometimes, too. One wrong remark and he'll explode on you! He also gets upset easily, too. He believes in a few superstitious things, including reincarnation. (I want this to be implemented into his past, sort of. If you're interested, Raver, I'll PM you with the details)

Companion 1 (C1):
Age: (15-20)
Gender:
Backround History: Friend of "Hero", you RP'er will change name, age, gender, and personality.

Companion 2:
Age: (15-20)
Gender:
Backround History: Rival of "Hero", RP'er will change name, gender, and personality.

Companion 3: Role Taken
Name:Ushelia "Current" Tallen (SexiLexi)
Age:17
Gender:Female
Class:Sky Pirate/Wandering mercenary (C2)
Weapons:A gilded scythe inset with a small grey gem tied across her shoulder by a deep blue ribbon that she drapes around the hilt(or whatever you call it)of her weapon before every battle. She always wears her mithril gun; named "Roshan", at her hip, regardless of the situation. She can also use a small amount of healing magic.
Appearance:Standing at only 5'2, Ushelia's scythe is nearly a foot longer then she is tall(6ft.). Her flowing flame-colored hair extends well past her waist. She wears a silver breastplate over her set of purple robes.
Background History:Ushelia grew up in a small trade town. At the age of ten, she stowed away on a vessel she believed to be a trade ship heading to Kerwon to drop off a supply of weapons. She was horribly mistaken, for the ship was a Dalmascan flagship(rather slow, but has a ton of combat power) heading back to the capital because of the death of the emperor. The crew allowed her to live for as long as she continued to work on the ship as a slave. However, shortly before arrival in Dalmasca, they came under attack by an unidentified fleet of airships. The crew was astounded by her quick thinking and strategic skills that allowed this slow flagship to evade an entire fleet, and they offered her a position as a tactician in the Dalmascan airforce. She agreed to the job, seeing as it was that, or slave her days away on a single airship. Upon arrival in Dalmasca, she was taken before the Emperor(the old one that's dead now.) and swore allegiance to him. Five years later, she was informed of the emporer's death, and requested to attend the new emperor's ascension ceremony. But when she stood before the new Emperor, the madness in his eyes was apparent, and she refused to serve him. Refusing to serve him caused the judge standing next to him to attack, she quickly dodged the blow, and ran. Using her knowlege of the city, she was able to evade all but one guard, the man that found her as a stow-away. left with no choice, she killed him and took his weapon, a mythril gun. She named the gun after him and stole the airship, which she renamed "Slipstream". After that, she drifted from town to town under the name "Current", looking for a few good crewmen who were loyal to the old Emperor. Today she leads about fifty men as the captain of the Slipstream, and mercenary for hire, Current.
Personality:Quiet most of the time, but it's usually because she's thinking about the current situation from every possible angle. Some say she thinks too much, but thanks to her brain, she seldom has to get her own hands dirty in battle. But when push comes to shove...

Emperor Diliscan: Role Taken
Name:Emperor Diliscan (Deaths_Legion)
Age:27
Gender:Male
Class:Emperor
Weapons:Not favoring combat, he tries to let his guards do most of the fighting. If need be, though, he carries a small hand axe at his hip for close encounters, and he also excels at many types of magic, Black being his area of expertise.
Appearance:As emperor, his clothes are of the highest order; Red shirts with the royal insignia and fine black pants. When neccessary, and in war, he wears royal armor he had crafted solely for him. The armor is made of silver and has gold trimming, as well as the pauldrons, gauntlets, greaves, and boots. His hair, a dark brown, falls just past his ears and rests slightly on his shoulders and his auburn eyes have a glazed look to them. His face may look young, but under is steel commitment and a mature interior.
Backround History: The main antagonist of the whole RP, also known as the dictator emperor of Ivalice. Like all Final Fantasy main baddies, he's slightly insane, and also seeks godly power and enternal life from the crystals. Is rumored to be the one who killed the previous king.
Personality:Although considered insane by most, he actually thinks most things through. He is determined to do something when he puts his mind to it, and that is why he seeks the crystals. In short, he's a determined, intelligent and short-tempered young emperor.

His hair is brown, shoulder-length, and strangely thick. He often wears glasses when he is not on the field of battle, and wears only a plain white shirt, but he always has the lower half of his armor on unless asleep. Few, other than the Emperor, have ever seen his face through his helmets visor.
Background History: Serves as the emperors under dog, carrying out orders that he dishes out.

Gods/Goddess's (I think i spelled that wrong):

Gods made the world of Ivalice along with the Crystals. They play as the real "supreme judges" in the RP. However, they do not support either the "good" or "bad side".
You cannot kill a god or goddess and a god or godess cannot kill you unless if they actually have a reason (if you broke the laws of the RP).
In the RP RP'ers can play as gods, they are kindof, the "mods" of the RP, making sure that no one breaks the rules.
If you break a rule, a god or godess will kill you.
As you can see, the gods very closely related to those of FF X and X-2

List of God/Godess's:
Ifrit: Avaible
Shiva: Avaible
Bahamut: Unavaible, I am Bahamut ;) .
Gilgamesh/Yojimbo (I know they are different aeons, except they looks closely alike): Avaible
__________________________________________________ _____________________________________

Rules:
1. Obviously, no god modding, unless your a god, but even so, you cant do crazy crap.
2. Use proper grammar.
3. You cannot kill other players or NPC's
4. Dont spam
5. Read everything before posting.
6. If you dont follow these rules, the god, "Bahamut" will kill you.

((Meh, why not join, eh? :P

Although I have to point one thing out.

Ivalice is a insanely large continent, not a world

Ivalice was always just a continent. If you'd look at FFXII, you'd see that they aren't talking about the world as a whole. Dalmasca is one half (formerly, I should say) and Archades is the other, with two nations in the middle that refuse to lay to either side. (Rabanastre and the other one...forgot the name of it >_<)

In FF: Tactics however, this is different, with Ivalice being made up of different kingdoms, all of them allied, but things take a turn for the worse and war breaks out, etc. The story isn't relevant. :P

FF:TA, though. That was just odd, it was a continent surrounded by water, and not related at all to the original Ivalice, so I guess that's where they got the idea to change FFXII's as well.

Just had to point that out, but meh.))

Oh, oops sorry, my FFXII is in Japanese, so I searched on Wikipedia for the correct information xD.
Oh, if you want to change Diliscans personality as being insane go ahead, I just said so since most of the games antagonists (Golbez, Vayne, Garland) were all...kinda wierd XD....

((Just to let you know, I haven't yet beaten the game, and I don't know if you want this to follow any kind of procedure. I'm gonna make my first post now, but it's not going to reveal much, just more of a placeholder.))

Diliscan was growing impatient. "Judge Goler, don't push me!" he yelled in anger. He turned around from looking out the giant glass window. "You know as well as I do that the airship can withstand that much damage. Now stop making excuses and tell me what's going on!" he again yelled.

The judge stared towards the ground, possibly in shame. Or maybe anger. The judges had grown very skeptical of his decisions lately and were getting on his nerves. They had the audacity to defy their own emperor, the person they swore to protect. It made him sick to the stomach to see such deserving people go this way.

He walked towards Goler until he was standing right before him. "Well?" he asked with authority evident in his tone. The judge merely looked up at him and mumbled "I can't..." That was it, he had just sealed his own fate. Diliscan grabbed for the axe at his hip and held it to Goler's throat, under the massive horned helmet he wore. "You did this to yourself." Diliscan said as he pulled the blade of the axe across the man's throat. Blood spilled over the side of the armor and slid to the floor.

He turned to the two lesser judges standing at the door on the far side of the room. "You two, clean this mess up. I don't care what you do with the body, just get someone in here who can clean my floor." Diliscan wasn't in a good mood, and the judges realized that. They quickly went to the task before them, so as not to end up in a heap on the floor beside Goler.

Oh, no its alright, this RP doesnt take place in the exact time period of FFXII, so dont worry.
Although, there are many references to FFXII.

Im sorry I havent been updating anything so recently, I've been screwing around to much on Rakion so please forgive me.

btw, if you havent beaten the game yet, search on youtube for cutscenes to understand some things.

Edit:
Ok, Ive decided to start the RP, however, it'll be pretty basic until more people come.
Just start trying to interact with players and all.

"The sky is sure beautiful tonig--" The man was cut off in mid-sentence by a young girl in a suit of Dalmascan armor, who ran past him panting. "What the..." the man stood up and looked at the girl running off.
Ushelia turned right, taking the shortest route to the airship dock, only to be met by a member of her former crew holding a rapier, whose face could not be seen. Without a word, she drew her own sword, knowing that she had no choice but to kill him. She quickly lunged forward while still running, and buried her weapon in his chest. Only then did she see the face of the man who was her only friend upon the airship, Roshan. Roshan, the man who gave her extra food(more than the table scraps she usually got). Roshan, the man who taught her how to pilot an airship. Roshan, the man who taught her to use a sword... She knelt by his side, and began to cry. She left her sword behind her, and stepped into the airs....

"...dy.. rrent... Mil.. Curr.. MILADY CURRENT!!" Current suddenly awoke and looked up from the map-covered table she had fallen asleep on. Standing by the door to her cabin was her first mate, Lucas. "Milady Current... Please forgive the intrusion, but i bring word from the lookout. It seems that we were pursued by the nobleman after looting his mansi--" At this point, Current silenced him with a wave of her hand. "How many ships?" She said simply. "Only two, one of them looks like the one that we saw in the nobleman's airship dock, but one of them seems to be a Valkyrie-class crui--"

Current silenced him again with her hand. "Tell the capitan to keep the same speed and course, they mustn't be allowed to know that we are aware of them, tell the lookout to keep an eye on the ships behind us, but to not linger on them for more then a few seconds. Are we clear, Lucas?" Lucas nodded, and walked calmly out the cabin door.

As soon as lucas had left, Current began to plot the Slipstream's location using her maps, and looking for a place to land. About five minutes later, Lucas bursted into her cabin, panicking(spelling?). "Mi... Milady... The enemy ships are advancing... on our position... at an incredible speed..." Current's eyes narrowed. "Do you know if their weapons are arme--" Right before current finished her sentence, a large shockwave rocked the ship. Current and Lucas both ran out on deck to find a huge hole in the main deck. "Lucas!! Tell the men to assume emergency landing stations!!!" Lucas nodded and ran to convey the Captain's orders, while Current ran to her pilot's cabin. "Mila.. Milady Current.. this is a surp--" The Pilot was cut off as Current took the helm, and began to fly towards a cloud bank. As soon as she hit the cloud bank, she turned straight right, and brought the airship to a landing in a secluded forest glen.

Current let go of the helm, and got out of the pilot's chair. She then went back to her cabin and found that the Slipstream was very close to a small town within walking distance. "Lucas, I shall return, but while i'm gone remember that YOU are in charge. Begin repairs, but make sure to try to keep your location secret." Saying these words, Current took her Scythe off the wall, tied it to her back, and set off to the town.

((You're actually pretty good. Better than most of the people here. [including me...] I think you really have talent. ^^))

Diliscan went back to looking out the window, down at the city below. A normal day with normal people doing their normal routine. That would all soon change...

He came out of his trance and looked behind him to see the mess was gone. A mere 15 minutes and they had already cleaned it. He felt joy well up inside of him at the sight. Just one word and these people would throw their lives away for him. But this power wasn't free...it came with a price. He was constantly haunted...haunted by "them".

He pushed the thought aside and walked forward to his throne. Once sitting, he conjured a small fireball into the palm of his hand. He started twirling it around, and tossing it in the air. When he was done, a small surge of magic snuffed the flame out and it dissapeared. Reaching into the closest drawer to him, he pulled out a piece of paper and some ink. A letter was in order, and this time, to the Draklor Laboratories. he had something to test, and the sooner, the better...

((Sorry I haven't posted. I've been messing around on RO lately))

Arshes looked behind him. The nobleman had quite a big army at his disposal. And they were coming after him in mini-airships. "Sh*t! They're gaining on us!" He shouted in disbelief. "Montblanc, I'm leaving you in control of the Levis, I'm gonna go and use the turrets!" The Moogle looked at him and nodded his head. "Kupopo!" He sat down in the captain's chair and went full speed ahead. Arshes and the other Moogles moved to the back and activated the turrets. They were flying over the Westersand now. "Montblanc! Raise our altitude! We need to fly over Rabanastre unntoiced!!!" Montblanc made an assuring squeal and tilted the Levis upwards. Arshes continued to fire the turrets, knocking soldier after soldier out of the sky, but they just kept coming. He noticed another airship in the sky, they looked friendly, but it was an Imperial airship. "Montblanc! Send a distress signal to the other airship!" Montblanc nodded and sent a transmission to the other airship and sent the distress signal. He notic.ed a woman's face on the transmission screen. He couldn't help but recognize her, he just didn't know from where. But she definetely looked familiar. At that moment the soldiers advanced on the Levis and attacked. Striking the main engine and disabling the backup engines. "Montblanc! Prepare us for a crash landing!" Montblanc nodded quietly. "Yes, sir, kupo!" he said and pressed the emergency landing button in an attempt to soften the landing. The Levis started to slow down and it hit the ground and skidded across the desert sands. It seems they were in the Dalmasca Estersand. Hopefully the other ship got their signal and they would come down to save them. Then he remembered who the young woman on the ship was. It was that tactician from the Dalmascan Airforce. What was her name again...? Oh, yeah! It was Ushelia Tallen! He then saw their airship go down, too! They appeared to have landed in the Giza Plains near the Nomad Village. He decided to take a shortcut through a small cave in the Estersand to check it out. He slowly approached the airship and peered inside. "Hello!? Anybody here!? We saw you crash land from the Estersand. We were the ones that sent you the distress signal! We crash landed in the Estersand."

The last period was in place. All he had to do was fold and seal it. Then came the waiting...

He was anxious to get the results back, and he hadn't even sent it yet. If they came back positive he was in luck. He pulled out the stamp he used to seal his letters and looked at it. The royal insignia...the thing he saw most in his life, and it gave him pride for he knew it was symbolic of the emperor.

The stamp formed a perfect circle around the folded area of the paper and it the seal was there when he took it off. "You! Judge, bring this to one of servants. They'll know what to do with it!" Diliscan said. The judge sprang to action and swiped the letter out of his hand. He watched the judge run out the massive mahogony doors and down the corridor. He turned left at in intersection and his footsteps echoed for only a couple more seconds before fading away.

Diliscan was proud at himself for thinking up the idea, and if it worked, he was gonna win this war!

Exactly xD.
I.e. there are some scenes that are prety dramaic, where the character may change their personality momentarily to match the situations.

btw, I believe monk is the promoted form of White Mage. I think blackbelt is the right name for the character. I am also suggesting that you will be Companion 1?

btw, im in arzona right now, im using the TV internet connection so i wont be able to post the new roles onto the main post xD..

((According too a PM Rater sent me, I'm the "Chief Judge". So I'm guessing its a bit of both.))

((Ahh, I see. Ok. Well, now that it's cleared up...))

Diliscan walked the empty halls of the 67th floor of the tower. Empty because all of the soldiers were out on duty; patrolling the place or slacking off in the rec room up a level. That didn't matter, however, because he knew one person would be where he always was. He came upon the double doors and noticed a red light on above the room. "Hmm...wonder what he's doing all alone in there." Diliscan said with a grin. He was always one for perverted jokes, and he couldn't help but say it, even if no one heard.

He knocked on the door. A metallic clang echoed through the halls from the sound, and then the light turned from red to green. He pushed his hand to a side panel at the side of the door and it slid right open. There, sitting at a table with books strewn across it, was the Chief Judge. "Roderick, been a long time since I've seen you. How's your 'research' going?" Diliscan asked, mockingly. "I hear you've made a lot of progress!"

Lefos
12-26-2006, 04:14 AM
Roderick looked up from his table, somewhat annoyed at the knocking at the door, despite the clearly visible red light. He flipped a small switch on the under side of the table, turning the light from red too green. Only a moment or so after he had flipped the switch, the doors opened, and there stood the Emperor himself. "Roderick, been a long time since I've seen you. How's your 'research' going? I hear you've made a lot of progress!" said the Emperor, with somewhat of a mocking tone too his voice.

"Ah, my excellency, had I known you would be stopping by, I would have made the room somewhat presentable." Roderick said as he slowly stood up from his table, sending books tumbling from his lap. "I'm going to assume you're referring too the 'special' research you requested?" inquired Roderick, with a small smirk on his face. "It is proceeding quite well, I have hundreds of pages of reference compiled here." he mentioned, as he patted a large book on the table's edge. "But, I must express my concern too this. I have no doubt in your judgment on this matter, but something doesn't seem right. My research is incomplete as of yet, so it could just be some paranoia." Roderick's smirk had changed too a forlorn frown upon expressing his concern. "However," he said with a heavy sigh, regaining his cocky smirk, "I will continue the research for the time being. Here I'll provide you with my findings until I've completed my work." Roderick then handed the Emperor the book that had been sitting on the table's edge. "I haven't translated all of it quite yet, some of it is written in that damned Nu-Mou tongue, and I think there may even be some SeeQ in there."

"Oh, and was that REALLY necessary, I mean what you did too Goler. He was my best airship captain, what with Cid being gone and all." Rodrick has always had a soft spot of Goler, considering him somewhat of an apprentice.

((I added more detail too the character sheet.))

"Goler? Hmph, he deserved it. I had reason to believe he was working with the judges that want me taken down from the throne. Better he be dead rather than running that airship of his straight through this tower..." Diliscan said as he grabbed the book. Opening it's pages just revealed that he couldn't read it, nothing more. At the back of the book were some extra pages, seemingly sewn on in a hurry. "Roderick, what is this?" he asked, pointing to the extra pages that were frayed beyond belief. It looked as though someone had torn a section of the book out and added their own in. "It looks like someone found the book before us..." Diliscan mumbled under his breath. Elias was staring as well, obviously unable to make out who's handiwork it was.

Concerned about it, he flipped through the pages, only to notice that he still couldn't read it; all but one section of it. Coming across a passage that was in plain english, he read it aloud.

'When the Emperor falls and the two powers collide a plague will sweep the land.'

That was the only part in english, and it seemed like a prophecy. "Roderick, I want to take this book back to my quarters and study it there. Give me the notes I need to translate this, and any others you have on the Nu-Muo language as well. If you don't mind, that is." He had stumbled upon something big this time...

"I don't mind at all, here, allow me too give you what I have now." Elias spun about and sifted through his books, finding a few that were basic Nu-Mou too Hume, he also scribbled out a small list on a loose piece of note paper he had. "Give this list too one of the clerks at the castle archives, these are books I don't have, but should prove of immense help, since I haven't had the time too begin my translations." Handing the books and list too the Emperor, he then grabbed one last, small book on the ancient folklore figures, 'Espers'. "From what I have learned so far from other works, it seems that the Espers may be tied too this, but I'm not sure." He the handed the last book over, and went back too his table.

"I'm not sure about what happened with the book, but I wouldn't worry too much. The replaced portion was only a minor part, and appeared too be gibberish, even too myself." Elias sat back down at his table, repositioning his glasses as he lowered himself. "That's all the information I had, and I hope it's enough for you, sire. Now then, I'll be getting back to my work."

"Hahaha, I dont believe it, i forgot to grab some gil for supplies." Current thought to herself as she turned around and began to walk back to the grounded Slipstream. When Current reached her airship, someone suddenly called out "...Hello!? Anybody here!? We saw you crash land from the Estersand. We were the ones that sent you the distress signal! We crash landed in the Estersand!"

Current walked up behind the speaker, laughing softly. "Hahaha, we meet again, Arshes Selaessi... Heh, i never thought you were the sort to call for help... Anyway, in case you hadn't not-- Lucas, put that gun away! he's not an enemy!" Current yelled at her first mate as he rounded the corner carrying an old blaze gun. "as i was saying, in case you hadn't noticed the smoke and bits of lumber everywhere, we took a heavy hit and i dont think the slipstream can fly."

Current sighed as though she was being forced to do something that she normally wouldn't do. "I.. Have a proposition for you, Arshes. I need to get to Rabenastre, but I... cannot make it on my own, the judges are still after me. If you would assist me as a... bodyguard of sorts, i will fly you back to your airship and assist you with YOUR repairs as soon as the slipstream is fully functional. As Diliscan struggled to hold the papers and books up, a judge noticed him and came by. "Sir, do you need help?" he asked nervously, if anything. Diliscan lifted the stack and set it on a nearby table. "Yes, if you don't mind, I would like you and a couple others to bring this up to my throne room. I have some...studying to do." he said without a glance back at the judge. Without looking, he could tell the judge was obedient. He set right to his task, the echo of his armor ringing through the halls.

"Roderick, I need you to look into something else for me. I know I ask much of you, but this should be rather simple. I want you to look around for some sort of a biography on a woman I've been..."chasing", I guess you could say." Diliscan said. He was hesitant to ask the man, but it had to be done and he didn't have the information to know how. "She's recently been reported...something about stealing one of our airships. She goes by the name "Current", if that helps. I have no other information for you, I'm sorry, but that should be enough to find her."

Arshes looked at Current and sighed. "Alright, if you say so. Rabanastre is just north of here. We *might* run into the soldiers, so it won't hurt to be prepared for battle. I've got everything I need with me." Arshes saw Current walking toward Rabanastre. "Seeing as if you're already walking toward Rabanastre, I assume you're ready." Noticing a lesser judge scrambling towards the Emperor's books, Elias yelled at the man, "You! I want records of from every airship port on this continent. See that I get them soon!" Despite the judge's helmet, Elias could still hear a faint groan from him as he hurried away with the last of the Emperor's belongings. "We should have an airship name, model, and possibly even a crew list before long now. Is there anything else you need, or may I return to my work?"

"That will be all. I thank you for your help as emperor and as a friend." Diliscan said with a bright smile on his face before turning and leaving the room.

When he had returned to his throne room, he noticed the stack of papers and books next to his desk. He was tempted to get to work on it, but he was extremely tired and if he got little sleep, then he wasn't going to be able to give his speech tomorrow.

His own personal room was directly connected to the throne room by a wide corridor. The corridor had many windows, allowing enough light to get in, even at night. He looked around at the statues in the place; all of previous emperors who had died or been killed. Luckily, they had bred before doing so, letting their legacy live on. There was one vacant place where a statue was missing...it was his. Seeing that there was only one, and that no more statues would be able to be placed after his death, he thought of the prophecy again. It had said that he would "fall". Whether that meant death, or just embarassing defeat, he would still lose his title as emperor, and his statue would be placed in its rightful position. Seeing as how he had no kin, there would be no more emperor of Archades...perhaps by coincidence, or maybe through prophecy, the sculptors knew that his reign of the land would be the last, and so had the number of statues put in here to be an exact number.

He waved off the notion and headed for his room once again. Closing the door behind him, he flipped the switch and heard the metallic "clank" as the door locked itself. The bed was neatly made, and the room looked spotless. The servants were ordered to clean his room everyday, no matter if it was messy or not. He trudged over to his bed and pulled off his shirt, then unbottoned his pants, becoming stark naked. He slipped into his night robe and then lay down on his bed, exhausted. Before long, he was fast asleep...

Some hours after his meeting with the Emperor, Elias was rushing down the hall, realizing he had forgotten to give the Emperor a small book on the gods. When he reached the corridor leading too his majesty's room, Elias noticed two soldiers attempting too, what looked like, pick the lock on the rooms door. "You two, what are you doing here? This corridor is restricted to all those without at least judge-level authority." The two soldiers spun around, wondering who had stumbled upon them.

"Dammit, its Elias! I told you we should have used poison!" Screamed the soldier that was trying too pick the door. "Don't worry, look, he's unarmed, we can kill two birds with one stone right here." Mentioned the other, drawing his blade. The other soldier got up realizing now that Elias had no weapon or chest plate, "Yeah, you're right, lets get this lapdog." They both charged him, swords drawn. "Fools..." would be the last words they ever heard.

The fight didn't last long, no more than a few moments, really. Elias had hit the soldier in front with a firaga spell, melting his armor too his skin at first, and then turning him into a living hell fire. The second soldier managed too reach his target while Elias was casting his spell on the first, but when he brought down his sword, there was nobody there. Elias had deftly evaded the blow, and positioned himself behind the soldier. Placing his hand on the soldiers back, he quickly used a blizzaga spell, impaling the soldier with a gigantic shard of pure ice.

Having dispatched the two traitors, Elias left his book at the foot of the Emperor's room, and then began to return to his quarters. He would send a group up to clean the corridor before the Emperor awoke.

Diliscan awoke early at night to a scraping sound outside his door. It stopped shortly after, and he heard muffled voices. The only thing he caught from the brief conversation was "he's unarmed, we can kill". He knew now that they were assassins. He quickly got out of his bed, but heard the scream of a man. He froze in his tracks, fearing the entrance of the two assassins. There was a short metallic clanging noise, like a sword hitting stone, and then a sharp cry of pain. He heard nothing for a couple of seconds, and then the sound of metal against stone again, but this time it was that distinctive noise of armor hitting the floor. A soft thump and some more muffled voices, then followed by the fading footsteps again. That led him to believe that his forces had won; good to know. He was still exhausted, and so decided he would get to bed.

With his head on the pillow, he fell right to sleep, but this time had dreams. Not normal dreams, ones that had haunted him for years now. He tossed and turned through the night and awoke suddenly. Light came in through the windows; it was morning...

"Chief Judge, sir! It's morning." These were the first words Elias heard every morning for many years, and he still hated them. "Sir, today you were scheduled to look into a matter regarding some bandits, but since the events last night, you are being made to investigate. Oh, we also found this, a seal of a local noble family."

"Excellent, prep me transport there. I'm going to get this matter straightened out by tonight." Elias then got out of bed, equipped himself with his armor and blade, and made for the airship bay. The battleship "Tiamat", his own personal mobile fortress, had been made ready. He was going to destroy the entire noble house if need be, and he was going to make sure nobody that was a threat to the Emperor survived.

((Thanks you Lefos!))

Diliscan finished putting his attire on, and headed out the door. He stepped forward and his foot hit something. Looking down, he saw a small book with the title "Gods and People". Odd name for a book, but important it seemed. Was it Elias who had dispatched of those two last night when he came to drop this off? Who knows, but he was grateful to whoever had done so.

He entered the throne room and layed the small book on his desk. Upon inspecting the stack of other books, he found the one he wanted. The pages were still frayed and the binding the same. No one had touched it last night, that was a relief. The cover beared a title that he couldn't translate; not too surprising. He flipped back to the page that had the english text and looked at the passage once again. He still couldn't translate it, and he hadn't enough time at the moment.

A judge peered her head in the giant doors. "Sir, your speech is to be made in approximately one half hour. I would advise you to get down there immediately." Diliscan grabbed the paper next to him, the one with his speech written on it, and headed out the door. When passing the judge, he whispered loud enough so that only she could hear him. "Do not tell me what to do." A look of fear passed her face and she saluted. "Uhh, Y-yessir! Sorry sir!" she said. Diliscan smiled his sly smile. He enjoyed giving the judges a hard time, it kept them in line.

Diliscan sat on a small wooden chair, awaiting his name to be called so he could give his speech. "And now, without further ado, I give you the one, the only, Emperor Diliscan!!!" That was his cue. He walked slowly up to the podium, building suspense in the audience. This would be a speech they wouldn't soon forget...

Before the nobles mansion was even insight, their house guard had assembled. They knew what was coming, and they were prepared to fight to the last man in order to protect their masters. Every corridor had been secured, and the wall around the grounds was being stationed in full force.

"Sir, the mansion is in sight. From this distance, we can't tell how good the security i-" At that instant, a cannonball had hit the ships stern battery. "Sir, the stern firing battery has taken a direct hit from the mansions defensive cannons!"

"Very well then, let us return the favor. Hit them with a salvo from the forward battery! Let's show them just why we're an Empire and not some pitiful lords." As the last words left Elias' lips, the forward cannons of his ship fired a salvo of somewhere near 40 shots, punching through stone and sending anybody unlucky enough too be near them flying. "I want each of their defensive cannons destroyed." In no time at all, there were shots firing from all angles of the "Tiamat", decimating the walls and cannons that were stationed on it. "We'll go in on foot, I want every one of them brought to me."

The army of the Empire was not to be trifled with, and in this moment, they showed why. They cut through the guard like they were nothing, bringing the hammer of the Emperor's justice down onto his enemies. Countless hundreds of the house guard were slaughtered in less than a hour, and the Empire suffered only minimal losses. It seemed as if a wave of silver had passed through the house, engulfing everything as it went. Elias himself, however, stood out as a black cloud in the wave, leaving nothing but red as he went. The members of the family themselves were brought before Elias, to face their judgment.

"You have each been charged with conspiracy to assassinate his excellency, the Emperor, have you anything too say in your own defense?" Spoke Elias, a tone of pure authority in his voice. "Don't you know anything!" Screamed a man, who was obviously head of the house based on his clothing, a long blue robed, laced with golden trim. "That bastard is insane, he's going to kill us all!" Elias looked at the man, though his expression was covered by blackened steel, the man could tell he had just sealed his, and his families fate. "So be it, you have all been found guilty, and the penalty for this heinous crime, is death!"

Elias then unsheathed his blade, a monster of a sword. One by one, person by person, he brought his blade down upon the now former nobles, freeing their heads from their shoulders. Elias showed no signs of remorse or care for these people, even as he killed the lady of the house, and her children. As far as he cared, these were just more enemies of the Empire, and they were now dealt with. "All soldiers are to withdraw back to the "Tiamat", we are returning home. I also want a list of every one of our men that died here this day, I shall make sure they are not forgotten." The wave of silver was now retreating, moving back the way it came. The soldiers boarded the ship, and prepared to return home. "His excellency should be giving a speech soon, lets see that we don't miss it."

"So you've finally decided to join me, 'eh Arshes?" Current said in a very sarcastic tone when she heard him running up behind her.

They walked in total silence, in part because Current was drowning in memories of her stay in Rabanastre. "I wonder if Old Dalan is still around.. Heh, he always was a clever one, i doubt he'd die easily, although.. Those imperials are extremely loyal to their new "Emperor", Diliscan.. If Dalan had said anything that Diliscan didn't approve of... No, Dalan is smarter then that, even if he DID do anything, the Empire would have a hard time finding him.."

Diliscan stood at the podium, ready for his speech, and looking out at the audience. Before even starting, he saw the airship approach. It was the Tiamat; Elias's ship. Seems he had been out running an errand, but no matter, he had gotten back in time to hear the news. Elias may not have known, but he would soon enough.

"Citizens of Archadia! I stand before you to bear some bad news. As you all know, the war is still raging down in the southern countries. The time has come for us to win, but the empire needs your help! You must become part of our forces so we may have enough soldiers to win, and enough to spare in battle. This, my good people, is why I am calling a draft. All able men and women are to report too a legion stronghold and join the military, or we will force you to do so."

Upon hearing this, the crowd broke into an uproar. People were unhappy, they were always unhappy. He knew how they would react, so before even finishing the sentence, he had held his hand up with impatience to show that he wanted silence. The crowd was hesitant, at first, but slowly the people stopped talking and there was a silence once again.

"However harsh it may sound, it is for your nation and for your honor. Would you really defy your ancestors like this?" No one spoke up, a good sign. All that was heard was the occasional cough or sneeze. "Good, now that I have your rapt attention, I must now explain something else. A small amount of people know about this, but there are great objects of magic out there; objects I wish to acquire. Obtaining them will not be an easy task, so I ask of any adventurer out there willing to put their life on the line to report to anyone of judge or higher rank. They will bring you too me and I will give you your mission personally. You will be rewarded handsomely."

The crowd, sensing it was the end of his speech, broke out into an uproar once again. This time talking about what these items of great power were, and some were still angry about what he had said earlier. He payed no heed to them though. They were nothing but a nuisance!

The instant the Tiamat had docked, Elias was off the ship, and he was storming up to the Emperor. To do so, though, he would have too wade through the countless fools willing to participate on this suicide mission. Though it was far from the easiest thing he had done, he gathered up every judge from his ship and had them dispersed through the crowd, taking then names of any who wished too throw their lives away for something they were far from ready for. It had taken him some time, but he had found the Emperor, still coming from the balcony.

"Sire, I must express my concerns on your recent announcement! Though more soldiers would help our effort, we wouldn't be able to train them all. WE'D BE SENDING THEM TO THEIR DEATHS!" Elias shouted, his voice ringing through the halls, drowning out even the voices of those outside the palace. Having realized his recent error of action, Elias was quick to apologize, "I beg your forgiveness sire, I have just returned from slaying those that made an attempt on your life last night. The battle had cost me some of my best men, and I am somewhat grieved by losses. I shall give you the report on the battle later today, and may I also request a memorial? I would like the men too be remembered by their families for protecting their Emperor."

Oh crap I am so sorry for being gone for so damn long, I just got back from Arizona/Colorado.
My mom made the family go hiking in the Grand Canyon, as you may know, theres no wireless connection in a moutain valley.
I'll look at all the new posts now, sorry again >_>.

Anyhow, it looks as if I dont need to make any arcs, seeing that RP'ers are able to develop their own plot of events.
I'll delete the "Arc/Shift" part of my main message.

However, I am lost in the events of whats going on, it seems that I cannot read 2 pages worth of posts in 5 minutes. Is it alright if someone gives me a summary.

Btw, RP'ers who have to post still are:

"Your request is granted. I'll see to it that my servants get right on it. If they were my relatives, I would be grieving too. In fact, get me a sheet with all the soldier's names that have passed on. I will personally visit their relatives and pay my respects."

Diliscan walked the corridor back to his throne room, Elias in tow. "Roderick, I want you to know something regarding what I said today. I'll tell you away from prying ears." he said as he looked at the troop of guards escorting them. As soon as they got back to his throne room, he dismissed the soldiers and they all left for the elevator. Inside there were three judges posted around the room. One by the corridor leading to his room, for after what had happened last night, and two by the massive entrance doors. He dismissed all of them, letting them know that the Chief Judge and him needed privacy.

He sat on his throne and looked down for a second, gathering the words to speak. "Look, Roderick, you've been my friend for as long as I can remember and we know each other. You know I wouldn't do anything to harm my good people. Is it really necessary you know about this draft I have put into order? If so, then I will not hesitate to tell you."

Arshes looked over at Current and looked down. "I hope Migelo's doing OK..." he thought to himself. "Well, I wasn't looking for anything specific, but I raided his mansion and in the basement cellar, I found this." He held out the golden dagger he found in the basement of the man's mansion. "I also took a large sum of money, just to piss him off." He playfully winked at her. "I didn't know his military rank was that high. This dagger must mean something to him."

Elias let out a heavy sigh, and then removed his helmet so that he could talk with his Emperor unobstructed. "I have said it time and again, sire, or should I say Diliscan; I trust your judgment, and I know you would not ever willingly hurt your people. This draft though, can it really help us that much?" He placed his helmet under his left shoulder, waiting for his Emperors reply.

((Meh, it's ok, I just needed you to respond so I can say what I want. :P))

"The draft...it..it won't be much help to us, but it's the only help we'll get. You see, I've been having a recurring dream lately, one that foreshadows our defeat. When I saw that book you had given me, I wanted to study it to see when exactly my fall will take place, but I have yet to do so. In the dream, there is a battlefield. On both sides are large armies, one force wearing Red Armor and the other wearing Green Armor. As you know, red is my most favored color whereas green is the one I dislike most. That symbolizes that the Red Forces are ours, and the Green Forces are our enemies...but that's not all. The Green Forces have a giant army, and in comparison to the Red Forces, it is thirty times larger! Both forces rush the battlefield and steel clashes, but a wave of green envelops the red and ambushes them from the back, taking all of their men down within minutes." Diliscan paused, fearing what Elias was thinking of him right now.

"Look, I know you think it a trivial matter, but I have talked to the prophets and they clearly state it as prophecy. I don't know where I have gotten the gift for doing as such, but I can assure you that we need as much help as we can get. That is why I needed to put this draft in order. As I said, I don't know how long we have, but we should have long enough seeing as how the battlefield was covered in snow. That gives us half a year, at the least and if we keep the new recruits in tip-top shape, they should be good by then. Who knows, we may win just yet, but that is a story for time to tell."

After saying all this, he finally looked up. Elias had taken his helmet off...but one thing was different about him. This wasn't Elias the Chief Judge, this was simply Elias, his friend. Diliscan was relieved to see the look on his face, although grim it may be. "Please, try to see this my way."

It took Elias some time to take all this in, but afterward, he could help but let a sly smile creep out. "Diliscan, have you ever seen this dream the whole way through? We may still have a chance if you haven't. Providing you have, however, why not ambush the ambushers? We have the information we need, all we need do is place the battlefield and plan out a counter-attack."

"Oh, and here is the list of all the casualties we incurred, I had the list compiled before we even arrived." Elias handed Diliscan a sheet of paper, and then turned to leave the throne room. Raising his nose slightly into the air, he sniffed, and simply said, "Huh, I can still smell the burning."

"Thank you, Roderick. I am grateful that you can accept what I have told you. I may have forgotten to tell you, but no I have not seen the whole of the dream." Diliscan quickly scanned the list Elias had handed him. A couple of families he knew, but no more. He would have to visit each of these people and pay respects to their dead sons and daughters.

"Roderick, will you come with me?" he asked as he held the paper up. "They were in your squadron after all."

Elias, now near the massive entrance doors, turned to face Diliscan. "Old friend, we both know that I don't do well visiting the families of the fallen, and had the request come from any other, I would deny the request. However," Elias said, letting out a long sigh, a small grin come across his face, "I will grant this request for you." Elias returned to his quarters, completely removing his armor, which he rarely did. He, in turn, donned a plain white shirt and loose brown slacks, picking up his glasses on the way out. Upon his return to the throne room, he walked up to Diliscan, saying afterward, "I'm ready to go whenever you are. Let me tell you a bit about each soldier, before we leave." Elias grabbed the sheet of paper, and began to point out names, talking about each soldiers personality and habits, as if he had known them all his life.

Before Elias had left, Diliscan smiled and said "Again, I thank you Roderick. You have been a great asset to me in these past days and I will not forget it." As Elias left to get his things, Diliscan realized he wasn't in the most proper attire for what he was about to do. Too fancy, and they'd think he was lording his position over them. He went to his room and put on a more casual shirt, but kept the black cotton pants on. He returned to the throne room to see Elias waiting for him.

After explaining the situation and some things about the young soldiers, Diliscan looked to Elias. "It seems you were very close to these people. I'm sorry for their deaths..." he said with an expression of sorrow. Elias simply nodded and turned away. Diliscan knew that he shan't question it more, and so they were out the door.

The gold blade held Current's interest for only a moment, but the gem set within the dagger's blade captured her attention as soon as she saw it. Current's eyes widened. "This gem.. This belonged to.. No, it couldn't be.." She grabbed her scythe from her back and held it above her head. Staring deep into the grey gem set into the blade of her scythe, she said quietly "War".

About a second later, the gem suddenly began to glow red, and Current turned to look at the blade in Arshes' hand. The odd colored gem was glowing the exact same color. Current lowered her scythe and touched the now red gem, muttering a single word under her breath. Both gems stopped glowing as she did this.

"Arshes, that dagger belonged to my Commander in the Dalmascan army, Mizar. I'm not going to take the dagger back, I dont belong to Dalmasca anymore, but I think you should know what I just did. These gems were made by Dalmascan alchemists as an early warning device of sorts. A few choice keywords make them all glow in different colors, so they could be used to convey messages to everyone who had one of these gems, called 'Inferi'. For instance, 'War' makes all Inferi close to the sender glow red, and 'Peace' stops the glow. Perhaps i'm rambling now, but i have a feeling that this information could help."

(((Alright, just tell me if you want this "Inferi" stuff gone. i was just trying to think of some way to use these gems, and it seemed to work.)))

All day, one by one, Elias and Diliscan went down the list, house to house, family to family. These people were all of different social status and race, but the reaction was always the same, tears. When they were at the last name on the list, Elias suffered a sudden realization. The name was that of his younger brother, he had not even noticed it before, but he knew that he would now have to return home to tell his parents that their youngest son had fallen, under the command of his own brother.

When the arrived at his parents home, Elias simply request, "Diliscan, please stay here. These are my parents, and it is my duty to tell them what has happened." Elias slowly started to climb the steps, the weight of his heart increasing with each one.

((No, that's alright. I actually found that quite original.))

"Really?" He looked at the gem on his dagger, and thought to himself 'This dagger really belonged to a Dalmascan general? Then that must've been his house he raided....no wonder he had that much military power...' He saw Dalmasca drawing near. He put his hands to the sword and dagger on his waist. Now he knew there would be trouble....they were sure to notice Mizar's dagger.

"Stop right there! We need to see your I--hey! That's Mizar's dagger! Get them!" All of a sudden the gate opened and some soldiers ran out, weapons ready. Arshes quickly drew his sword and dagger and swiftly and elegantly knocked the helmets off of both soldiers and then slit there throats. He watched in satisfaction as the soldiers fell to the ground, dead.

"Are you sure Roderick? Well, it's your choice...you can do things as you please." Diliscan said. Elias nodded and pushed open the door. It only took a few seconds before the sudden silence settled in. The street was still bustling, but the world just dissolved around Diliscan. It was so sudden and yet, it felt very relaxing. For once in his life, he wasn't the one making decisions. For once, he had time to rest. He basked in the glory of the moment before the door opened once again. Elias stood there, the distant sound of crying behind him followed by the comforting voice of his father. Elias' face had no worry, no concern and no remorse for what he had just done. Just pure loyalty to his emperor...this was the Elias he was used to seeing, and not his friend. "You ready to go?" Diliscan asked, trying to still escape from his utopia.

"Well Arshes, it's good to see you haven't lost your skill, but that probably wasn't the best idea..." Current said while she moved the dead soldiers behind some bushes. "Now they know someone hostile to the throne is here."

Then she turned around and said "Arshes, I have an idea. I want you to go into town as if you were only a traveler, and go to the tavern near the east end of town. Tell the bartender that Amaya sent you to get supplies, and show him Mizar's dagger. He will show you a secret room where those soldiers will never find us. Then i want you to use the Inferi as a signal that you're safe. I will join you as soon as I can. Up until then, conceal the dagger as well as you can. With any luck, the soldiers will regard you as only a traveler, but if you are caught, run toward the southern exit of town. I will meet you there and assist you with disposing of them, although that will force us to find another town to get supplies.

Their army mobilizes quickly, especially for special cases like us."

((Sorry I didn't post sooner. FFXI is too addictive. >.<))

Arshes quickly tucked away the dagger away in a concealed pocket in his belt. He nodded to Current and made his way toward the tavern, trying to be inconspicuous. He entered the tavern that Current spoke of and went to the counter to speak with the bartender. "Um...excuse me.....I was sent by Amaya to get supplies. He quickly took out Mizar's dagger and showed it to him. The bartender nodded as Arshes quickly concealed the dagger again. He took Arshes to a wall in the back of the bar and put his hands on the door. He chanted an incantation a few times, and the wall crumbled to pieces, opening a passageway. He led Arshes down the passageway into a dark room. The only sources of light was a fireplace and a few lanterns here and there. The bartender left the room and reassembled the wall. Arshes began to explore the room....it looked like some sort of abandoned library....Arshes remembered what Current said about the Inferi. "War" he said quietly. The jewel began to glow. After about 15 seconds, he said "Peace" and the glowing ceased. He continued to explore the room, but he tripped over a pile of books. Arshes lookd at the dusted cover of the top book. He couldn't really make out what it said, but curiosity got the better of him. He opened the book and began to read. Something caught his eye on one page, though. It was a picture of Mizar's dagger. And beside it, a picture of the God of War, Kratos. He read the paragraph beside the pictures.

The great Kratos, god of War and destruction, was skilled in the art of combat and a vicious opponent. He weilded a large blade in one hand, and a slim, golden dagger in the other. Soon, though, his power became to great. He began to combat the other gods, and layed waste to Ivalice. Eventually, he tried to combat Athena, the goddess of hope and tranquility. She was considered the ruler of all gods. She weilded a perfectly curved-bladed scythe with a blew jewel in it. The jewels on their two weapons wer known as Inferi. When one says the word "War", the jewels on both weapons glow. When one says "Peace", the glow stops. It is said that when these two powerful entities collided, the Inferi began to glow as if to quell the fighting. Kratos' Inferi along with Athena's Inferi, eventually overcame him, and he was sealed forever in Purgatory. Athena then disappeared from our world. It is said that these two gods have been reincarnated several times, and that eventually, the two will collide once again.

When Arshes finished the paragraph, he began to feel sick....he put his hand on his aching forehead as he began to have brief visions. Mizar's dagger, Kratos, Athena, Athena's Scythe....then he had a vision of the battle between the two.....he then felt a sharp pain in his chest as many other things flashed through his mind. Eventually the pain became to much for him to take, and he fell to the floor, unconcious. Left in his head, the vision of Kratos being sealed away by the Inferi. Then he saw Current in his head....then himself...then Mizar's dagger, than Current's Scythe, and finally, Athena and Kratos. Then an imaginary sword cut a straight line in between Arshes and Current, Mizar's Dagger and Current's Scythe, and Athena and Kratos. He then dozed off and completely lost conciousness....

Elias flung open the doors of his families home, heading inside to find his parents. He found them in the living room, reading books in an attempt to help pass the time between seeing suitors after Elias' daughter, Sheena, whom he didn't want the Emperor to know about. Diliscan had no need to know Elias had an illegitimate daughter.

"Mother, Father, I'm home." Elias said, trying to catch their attention. "Son! We didn't know you were coming home, or I would have made you some of your favorite soup." His mother replied, not noticing his grim expression. She put down her book and approached him, hugging her rarely seen son. "Oh my, you don't look as though you've been eating well. Come, sit down, I'll go prepare some food. Oh, I should probably get Sheena as well." Elias stopped her before she could scamper away. "Father, I need you to hear this too." His father, who rarely spoke, put down his book and stood up, wondering what could have been the problem. "I'm sorry, but...Raff...he died in combat this morning, I'm sorry."

Elias was up and heading for the door before his parents could even react. He wanted to leave quickly, before his daughter heard their cries and came down. Elias had no desire to see her tears. Elias threw open the doors, standing at the top of the stairs, hearing his mother's cries and his father attempting to comfort her, and then the sound of somebody running down the stairs. Before he was even half-way down the stairs, his daughter was behind him, a mixed look of curiosity and confusion at the crying, and joy from seeing her father in her eyes.

Diliscan looked from Elias to the little girl, a wide grin spread across her face. She looked happy at seeing Elias, and confused at what his parents were doing. Who this girl was, he didn't know, but would soon find out. "Roderick, who is that little girl? She seems happy to see you, won't you share the same sentiments?" he said with a serious tone instead of saying it sarcastically, which he so desperately wanted to do.

The cries of his mother seemed to worsen as the seconds dragged on. Elias, instead of grim commitment on his face, seemed to be angry. Probably at Diliscan, but the little girl was a possibility too. He looked to the side to avoid Elias' menacing glare and said with a sigh "Come on, let's go. We have more important work."

Elias looked down at his Emperor, simply saying "I'm aware, sire." He then turned his attention towards his daughter, his anger slowly subsiding. She reminded him so much of her mother, it was difficult for him to stay angered. He let out a long sigh, and looked her square in the eye. "I am sorry, Sheena, but you uncle Raff passed away this morning. Go to your grandparents, and for the love of the gods, see if you can get your grandmother to stop crying." He could see the sadness in her eyes, but she did her best to hide it behind a smile. "Don't worry dad, I'll make sure they're alright." A small grin passed over Elias' face, and he ruffled her hair. "Good girl, now head inside. The Emperor and I need to get going." With that, she spun around and started climbing back up the steps. After the doors were closed, Elias turned around, and walked down the steps. "I'm sorry about that, sire. I am returning to the palace. It has been a long day, and I am tired."

Diliscan overheard the word Dad in the conversation and knew right away that this was his daughter. He said nothing, however, because Elias had been through enough. "Go ahead, get some rest. I'll be up translating that book tonight, and hopefully I'll find something useful in there." he said just before he walked off into the crowded streets.

The bustling suburbia seemed to melt away once again as he walked. Nothing seemed to exist. Everything melted away, and he found himself bathing in his moments of utopia. Hours passed, and though they felt like seconds, he found himself sitting on his throne, the book in front of him. He opened to the page where the text mentioning him was. He had a long night ahead of him, and he was barely ready for it. All the walking had made him tired, so he decided to put off the reading until tomorrow.

"Ah, the signal. I was beginning to wonder if he had gotten lost in the town..." With this thought, current picked herself up off the ground and headed into town. "The guards are everywhere... That house looks empty..." Current thought as she quietly opened the door to the house and slipped inside. "I'll need to hide my Scythe, I stand out enough already without having a large weap--" At this point, Current's thoughts were interrupted by a sick feeling, and a few fleeting visions.

At first, the image of a dagger that closely resembled Mizar's appeared, but it quickly faded and was replaced by a portrait of a man that Current had never seen before, but he seemed so... familiar. Before she could remember who the man was, his face was replaced by another portrait, this time of a woman, but it was quickly replaced by the image of Current's Scythe. The next vision was a scene of battle between two blurry outlines. One was a man wielding a blurry sword, and a dagger that was in perfect focus, and the other was a woman fighting with a Scy--.
*thunk&
Current had fallen over into a table, causing the visions to abruptly stop. As soon as the scene had faded from her mind only to be replaced by a throbbing headache, Current realized that she was kneeling on the floor of a small shack. Taking only a moment to gather her senses, Current decided not to leave her Scythe for the soldiers to find, and departed for the tavern, which was only a few steps away.

And Current was lying unconcious next to him. "Ah! You're awake." the doctor said. "I found ya unconcious in the secret room below the bar. I called a doctor to come help ya." the bartender said. He held out his hand. "The names Azareth." he said. Arshes shook his hand. "Arshes" Arshes said. "Pleasure to meet ya." Azareth replied. Arshes looked over to Current as she awoke. "It looks like your girlfriend is awake." Azareth said. Arshes face grew red and hot. "She's not my girlfriend." he said. "Aww, come on, it's alright, you can tell me." Arshes slowly turned around. "SHE'S NOT MY GIRLFRIOEND, OKAY!?" Arshes shouted. "Alright, alright. I was just teasing ye." Azareth said quietly as he walked away.
