Well seeing as alot of people are online all the time, why not mod a bit and put a built in chat to the forums? it would save alot of spam and people can converse with the chat instead of with the forums ;)

i would use it alot to have convos with specific people instead of PMing them all the time.

Yeah a shoutbox will be nice.. Though I think many will still use the forum to increase their post counts.

A shoutbox would be good to speak with users one on one if need be or still use the PM system. But shout box would be a quick answer.
Speaking to member one on one in a post is against the rules.

I personally wouldnt like a shout box but more of a realtime chat to be honest with you.

Is it possible to do like java or irc?
Maybe could be placed in affect.
Realtime chat is what I was thinking of as well really.

actually theres a plugin for VB that is for a chat, no java scripting i think,
actually one-on-one member post chat is not against the rules...
ive done it quite a few times with members and no moderator or anyone had said that its against the rules.. and also ive seen other people do it as well.

A shoutbox could be a spamfest. But I wouldn't care. I'd use it.

The Shout(spam)box shouldn't add to your post count and you should only be able to make one shout/30 sec or more. Thus preventing spammers.

Yes it does not say anything about a shout box, I think it would be a good idea to have an integrated chat system, they have them that work very well if they auto update every time you refresh or automatically once every 5 seconds. I think it would be really fun to have. It would make one on one conversations easier, you could ask questions in there and responses would be faster. I shall bring this idea up with the staff.

yeah but im talking about a shoutbox or an built-in forum chat, its a big difference, i didnt use the other chat because it sucked butt! it was javascript and it was annoying to use anyway.

Now this is what I'm talking about. Please do speak about this with the others.Because like you even stated one on one conversations and faster help will be right there.
