I downloaded limewire for personal use. I don't download porn or anything just music and stuff.... Is limewire safe for your computer?

No, sometimes people purposly embed virus onto the music and stuff you download causing your computer to go nuts, plus most of the stuff on limewire is illegal, in other words, don't download anything through limewire, if you don't want police knocking on your door to check on your computer.

I heard people get virus off limewire. but i havnt got a single one from limewire myself. if you ask me i say its pritty safe

Don't use limewire, it's filled with ad-ware, porn advertising, and virus'. Plus no talking about pirating and illegal stuff. I'm surprised nothing has happened to you yet.....

limewire is full of adaware and spyware. It aint pretty. I would suggest for you to check www.zeropaid.com if your interested for a safter software than that. My friends computer resources was always at full capacity because of the limewire resource hog.

If not, pat yourself on the back, you just admitted to a crime on a public forum, a crime that in the US can earn you a fine of several hundred thousand dollars. Will you get caught? Probably not, but that doesn't change the fact that you just did a very stupid thing.

They could go to like any house that has a computer and the internet and find illegal music. They can get almost anyone they just go after people every once in a while and put it on tv to scare people.

True, but admitting to any crime in a place where it can easily seen or heard by the people that can do something about it is never a smart thing.

Hmm I use limewire, just have a virus scanner going while you download :) I get spyware all the time but that can easily be stopped, hell from usual websites u get spyware. I think its best to just have a virus scanner running (one that runs all the time) and then every time after you download like 10 songs or just every night run a spyware checker and u should be safe. THe porn is what will really get you in spyware though so just be careful.

Scan everything before you open it. No exceptions.

You are more likely to get spyware and adware just be being connected to the internet.

Limewire is t3h slow, Ares is faster for me. Never, never get Kazzaa.

Thank god someone's with me. Anyways, is it because of using Limewire PRO you dont have any viruses? Hm...lemme try that. My limewire isnt PRO so im having some common viruses but norton just cleans it off. No big, major virus has come up to my comp.

He hasn't admitted to a crime at all, he could be using Limewire to download legal, free, royalty-free music tracks. Like the ones seen on Download.com!

It's safe only if you put a condom on your network wiring and stick it into your computer. There is still a 0.01% chance of your computer getting a virus tough, so watch out.
