Fileplanet hosts Vanguard Beta client, invites coming next week
Saw this news at Fileplanet:

In early January, subscribers will be the first participants to receive an invitation to the Vanguard beta. Sign-up for a chance to join today, and start downloading the Beta Client Right Now! Created by team members of the EverQuest franchise, Vanguard looks to be one incredible MMORPG!

I hope everyone who bought a particular issue of Computer Games finally got their invites. And wouldn't that mean that Fileplanet subscribers are not the first participants to receive invites? Unless waiting 7 months for something that you paid for doesn't put you at the head of the line.

Sign-up for a chance to join today, and start downloading the Beta Client Right Now! (http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/vanguardbeta/prepromo.aspx)

Well It's time to bring MMORPG news to the community instead of mass of spam about betas. We need more depth info. THat's all I'm trying to get going here. Discussion.

EDIT::

You should check out my info in "General Section" about the wii getting an MMORPG since Nexon is formed with NINTENDO WII.

buy and P2P, one thing i will say though is this..no mattter how good the game actually is i will NEVER touch it...this is $OE the same people who destroyed SWG and has no care for their customers...SWG was a life lesson in dealing with soe, they dont care and you CANNOT trust them, dont put your time and money into a game they might on day randomly decide to completely redo the game without anyones concent or approval...it would be a mistake to deal with SOE in the future, theyve burned us more than once and they'll do it again

Anyone have a rough idea of the system requirement for beta? the only thing said in their FAQ is that the game will be unoptumized for beta... which isn't very good news for people with an old comp like me lol...

Ok, if you haven't played it, why are you judging it ?

How is it not going to be successful ? You know how many people have been following this game for like 4 years ?

and anyway, it takes up like 17 gigs when installed.

I'd rather not try it after they massacred SWG, its enough to put me off of all $OE published games.

First participants of the beta my butt. This games been in beta for about half a year.

One of my co-workers got into the beta based on a clan application, but seriously though, the game sounds great. I've been waiing forever for the next release of beta's to the forums members of the site, but it won't happen now.

Anyway, Fileplanet lies about a lot of things.

Umm Tray, I dont know how many patches this client will go through but, I am now on a patching which states it will last an estimated 300 hours.

LOL, I been patching the game since midnight last night, but I started with a auto installer updater program. Much like how Cabal installs their game.

No worries though, the hours are decreasing fast. I guess its cause of all the ones who got invited to CB phase 6 in the past days are DLing during the day time.

OK now its 215 hours. Yeah, its seems to be related to the traffic.

Its now 13Gb

Yeah, for anyone considering trying out the beta here, you must remember that the game will suck up close to 30 gigs of space when its released.

The beta from what I understand sucks up between 13-15 gigs (depends who you ask) and takes forever and a month to update/patch/install. So if you don't have the hard drive space, don't bother :)
