I think the game is about as good as it gets for a "free' mmorpg, I have played a LOT of other free online games and none of them are any better, on top of that the game is still in the last stages of beta, so there may be some changes later. I do however agree that the game isnt what you expect is it heh, i think a lot of ppl have that opinion, still a great game for free tho!

If you want to compare dev screens to user screens or your own screens, you should proboubly look at advertising. A games only as good as it gets. Cabal on one side is an action mmo, it's based for fast skill action, meaning several things going on at once, several dynamics and other things that go into the game. For instance, many people get upset because the game doesnt look like the videos. Well this is where developer meets the user.
Dev screenshots and videos are on a need to be best quality standard. It makes advertising and creating excitement for the game easier. When they render movies or scenes in things like 3ds max or maya, those are animation movies unless there gameplay videos, they can have a high detail and poly rate because there a one time process.
Where as in games, theres always proccessing going on. Low polygon and high detail textures are placed in games especialy online mmo's, because many people play at the same time and it uses up alot of the server's processing power, as well as computer that the user is on.
The super high quality models and videos of actual gameplay proboubly come from an enhanced video card that can handle and adds support the games textures and shaders, to enhance looks that the game developers might have used during the creation of dev test stage of the game.

i have a shit gfx card, but the game looks just fine for me...
like wtf is up with ppl and gfx....gameplay is more important for me ^^;
what lacks in cabal is a better gameplay(one that is not stolen/copy from another game), the gfx in cabal is no problem...

Are you saying LoA graphics beats cabals? Seriously? LoA models were hideous. Cabal actually has quite a bit of detail, most people dont zoom in enough. It looks 2d because of the original camera angle, which makes it look a little like MU online, but if you swing the camera around and stuff, you can see the detail.

[QUOTE=Saaaaaad;385846]Are you saying LoA graphics beats cabals?[QUOTE]
Yes.
And the camera system isnt really good.. I agree that LoA isnt rly better cause they made a patch.. (They souldnt) but its still better...
Im not saying you must think that, but for the people who are going to try it.. its not that crazy.

Uhh.. I dont want to be argumentative here but... LoA graphics are NOT better than cabals man, where the HELL do you get that idea? they are equivalent or less than cabals easilly.... That is not even debatable O_o... Anyway though thats totally beside the point, the graphics are not important really, they are just fine.. If you want it to look better btw, get a better freakin PC and turn the gfx settings up... turn up the "blur" effect and everything else, the blur effect makes it look wayyy better, similar to the "post process effects" on guild wars or silkroad online, and honestly I have no idea why you people are saying the videos are different, because they arent O_o for me the game looks exactly the same as the videos, also keep in mind that you just started the game and arent far enough to have the cool looking armor and use the flashy colorful cool skills that they use in the videos yet either, dont forget that.

My opinion of the game after weeks of playing the closed beta~
(Do not say that I do not know....I have a lvl 68 Blader)
Gameplay (8/10): The gameplay in this game is quite fun. I like how they implemented the combo system and all. Also, as you hit certain lvls, you get a quest that lets you obtain "Battle Aura/Modes"
To get these quests you need to complete a series of tasks and then go through a dungeon that is challenging at best. These special modes are similar to super saiyan modes in DBZ (for those who know the anime). They give the user nearly twice the dmg, twice the defense, hit rate, crit rate, defense rate, etc. Also, the animations for these to activate is very fancy and stylish. Once you get Battle Mode 2, which is where you obtain Astral Weapons, you are given a new skill to use with the new weapons. I liked mine with claws and fast attacks. FYI, all of these modes are only for a set amount of time, I think around 30 seconds or so. (That is ALOT in the game)
Graphics (10/10): Graphics in the game are superb. I could not have expected less from the game. The effects and colors of skills you use is very good. However, the graphics do not get very interesting unless you get high-tier skills...which can take quite a while. I personally liked this type of graphics, the emphasis of implementing cool effects on skills and activation of modes is what sets this game apart from others. One of the main reasons why I kept playing this game past lvl 50 is this.
Storyline (5/10): This game is not meant for a deep, mind-grasping plot. You get a jist of what is going on when you read the introduction on the main website, but that is about it. The story takes on a complicated route of series of talks, rescues, etc. The quests that you do are also based on this. Some quests will require you to move about different places until the task is completed, others will require you to kill monsters....well yea. However, the transition of going out to killing monsters from talking to an npc is something like this: "I do not really trust you, so go kill 10/20/30 of "Name of Monster" for me and come back." or "These "Name of Monster" are causing a problem, go eliminate 10/20/30 of them." The normal quests that you get are all pretty much based off of this setting. I quit doing quests like these after lvl 50~ cause they became extremely repetitive. There may be some side-quests that is meant for humor, but they are not fun at all. One example is a Romantic Old Man quest that just requires you to talk with him the whole time. However, if you answer wrong, you have to start from the beginning. So this quest is like a quiz. Although you do get a nice little exp reward, its still not worth the time.
Quests (2/10): Reason? See above.
Overall (7/10): This game IMO is good, not great, or bad, just right.
The graphics and skill effects make the most of the score for me. The quests and story in this game is not a immersive, grasping type. The game is a typical grindfest, just what you will expect from a Korean-based game. If it were not for those eye-popping graphics and gameplay, this game would be goin down the drain. This game will last for a while cause its colorful and all, but eventually the boring quests and grinding will get to you~ and give you barely any motivation to continue playing. (Just like what happened to me....)

the storyline really sucks....if u get to lvl 100+ you'll basicly know the full storyline (im not gona spoil it :p), and the high lvl quests are gay coz they make u keep going back to do 50min to 1 hour dungeons...
