Greetings,
As most of you might know Blizzard is currently running a "Recruit-a-friend" system that allows me to invite people for a 10 day free trial of the game. Naturally since all my friends already play it I decided to offer this to whoever is serious about trying the game out. There are no stipulations put on the Trial accounts even though it says different on the Blizzard website. All chat's are open, trading and the Auction House work AND you can get your character over level 20. I kid you not. The only thing that's required is a credit card for registration which won't be billed unless you subscribe.
Here's the article:

In return for recruiting people, anyone that signs up to WoW will give me a month's free play and to show my gratitude, anyone that decides to subscribe will receive 50 Gold courtesy of me but only after you've subscribed. 50 Gold goes a LONG way in WoW especially from levels 1-30. I will send you the money via the in-game mail or in person. Sound fair? Also if you decide to stay I can invite you into my guild that does raids and PvP on a regular basis.
Lastly, I'm looking for people who are serious about giving WoW a try. I don't want to hand out my limited keys to people that aren't going to play it. If you don't have a credit card please don't ask for the trial since it's necessary to get into the game.
Interested? Please send an email to ruffestdream@yahoo.ca and please confirm that you have a credit card by saying "I have a credit card" or something to that effect. DON'T TELL ME YOUR CARD NUMBER!! HA. I have a limited number of keys so not everyone will get the opportunity. People who confirm that they have a credit card will get emailed first.
Thanks and goodluck.

Can i have one of the keys? I don't have a credit card but my country sells prepaid cards that gives like 1 month for 12$ SGD, cant remeber, and i can afford that since im like 20$ per WEEK. that'll be say.. 80$ per MONTH, but i wanna see if the game is good first, cause i may regret it :/, and I've got 60$ in my pockets right now, so i am sure i can get the installation disk as cheap as 5$ and than go all out my 55$ for like 4 months.. So, yeh im intrested, Me please! :3

I checked the entire site and it looks like the only way to get into the trial is by credit card. I personally think it's unfair to the younger people who wouldn't have a credit card at such an age. Perhaps in the future they'll remove the whole credit card thing from the program. Sorry!

Unfortunately yes, they want you to buy the game. They let you download the entire thing for the trial and if you want to subscribe you can either pay Blizzard $39.99 USD which gets you an authentication code and 30 days game time or you can go out and buy the game costing $49.99 USD which also gets you 30 days free and the code but here you'll own the game and the packaging. When I first read about "Recruit-a-friend" a while ago, I figured Blizzard was just asking for the monthly fee, giving you the game for nothing but of course there's never anything for free.
I still have quite a few keys left for all who want one. Just send me an email.

Ok, that does'nt matter, So i'm just going to go and buy the whole installation thing and one prepaid card to try it for 1 month, Mind if you can guide me through though.. Bur i'm still trying to find out the exact price for WoW, because it said around not more than 15$ for Singapore, but in USD, it cost like 30$ >>>, thats just insane, gonna check the price:D

If they didn't make you pay for the game, just the time, that would be like handing out free cd-keys. Which wouldn't be very smart on their part. People would just be able to send free cd-keys to their alternate emails and bam a free account.
