I'm just curious what the exact (or as close to the exact) function of the stats are.

I dont' want to be guided or anything I just want so info on the 4 stats to get my plans in order.:-/

what class?

Strength= increase in max attack and hp (I think someone said it was 2 max attack and 2 hp)
Dex=Min and Max attack (and supposedly crit/dodge)
Int=increase sp and magic attack
Vit=increase defense and vit (I think someone said vit does not increase as much hp as strength does)
