i suggest using a Me/E and put high fast cast and whichever ele attributes u want although i had a mesmer that used domination magic and could take out dervs warriors monks and assassins easily. by takingh enchants and making them kill them selfs by casting or attacking. it works well. water is good to slow ppl like dervs crit sins or touchers by using spike moves
Guildwars:
lvl 20 W/Mo
lvl 20 R/Mo
lvl 20 R/N
lvl 20 A/R
lvl 20 Mo/W
lvl 9 D/Mo
lvl 8 Mo/N
lvl 20 N/Me
i had a lvl 16 E/W but did not like it much

I've always considered Water Elementalists somewhat useless, they don't seem to deal a sufficient amount of damage, but they are good for holding the target in its place (Sometimes needed in PVP).

water builds. don't underestimate them. not as strong as the other elements. its more of a supporting element. it gives the range classes an advantage by slowing some enemies down. its not made for damage dealing. it gives rangers, ritualists, other elementalists more power. its also very good for fleeing with mist armour. combined with fire you can slow enemies down and then nuke them off with some fire magic. water isn't the strongest but the most useful.

I perfer a Me/E with fastcast/earth as you main attributes.

Spamming stone daggers and then finishing it off with obsidian flame has the be the easiest strategy in the game.

But watch out for backfire ><

That will get nerfed sooner or later.

One Diversion to rule them all.

To the OP: Water skills are strong, and they're often used in hybrids within Air builds, or on secondaries, etc.
Common skills are Ice Spikes (snare and damage for 15 energy), Deep Freeze (biggest AoE snare in the game, 10 seconds unconditional duration, pretty expensive at 25 energy), Blurred Vision (very annoying to warriors, owns assassins), Vapor Blade (good spike skill), Ice/Teinai's Prison (great single target snare, watch out not to hit with fire damage though), Ice Spear (for some spammable damage), Armor of Mist (the line's standard speed boost).
Looking at Water elites, if you're not running dual attunements or Ether Prodigy, you might like Water Trident (annoying KD, can keep your enemy on his *** for quite some time), or Icy Shackles (nasty snare on enchant users, like ele tanks or dervishes). Shatterstone can also do some dangerous spike damage if you follow up with Vapor Blade, although it's not as good as Lightning Surge. Mist Form renders you invincible to physicals, but beware of degen and spells.

Overall, as always, just experiment and have fun.

Lol @ Deadly Haste. It's now the assassin's critical strikes primary attribute skill, so it's of not much use to casters. Unless you want that measly 5-6% less cast and recharge time. The only use for a sin now is apparently to go deadly arts, but it kinda defeats the whole purpose, wouldn't you think?

Other than that, i've not seen alot of water magic users. I play assassin, and I gotta say blurred vision kicks *** vs meeleers. It's not a normal condition, but a hex, so if you wanna shutdown a sin, use that. It's hard to remove hexes, much harder than a simple condition.
