Hi, Im new to JGE and havent found any english/ german speaking players ingame as of yet. To try and get more people playing I will put everything I found out so far in a guide here. JGE is free to play.

STEP1
Your computer needs to support east asian language support. This can be done in the regional and language settings of your pc. Choose second tab LANGUAGE and tick the box INSTALL EASTASIAN LANGUAGES. This requires the windows cd, if you havent got one go to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=803A623E-C311-4591-A593-B0E24A6F38E8#filelist
scroll down and select JAMONDO.exe. I think that helps.

The other tool from ms u should get is this MICROSOFT APPLOCALE you can find it here http://www.freefunfiles.com/software/systemutilities/microsoftupdates/applocale-utility.html Install this and you only need this at the very end.

Thats all you need to fiddle.

STEP2

Now you can go on to register your account. You must use the Internet explorer to do this, firefox wont work properly. So start your IE and do this.

MAKE SURE YOU WRITE THE LETTERS IN THE COLORFUL BOX AT THE BOTTOM IN CAPITAL LETTERS JUST LIKE THE PICTURE SHOWS YOU else you wont be able to proceed properly and keep being relayed to the page before. In above example it is I4QBSX1, and not i4qbsx1!!! its case sensitive. And remember not to make your password longer than allowed, else you cant log into the jp homepage later on

log in to test your account. Click there to go to client download section. Use Internet explorer when u want to get the client!

click the blue box obviously, if plug in requests to be installed let it install.

Now all you have to do is wait a night, the bandwidth you dl will increase over time.

STEP3

Installation is simple, you can choose any location on your harddrive-it doesnt have to be on C drive. Once you have done that use the ms applocale you installed earlier. Choose the granado espada.exe on your desktop. Select the last language in the list.

STEP5

The quests to gain more charakters and to be able to control them (MMC) no longer are required. Im not sure if u can make your team with 3 chars right from the beginning, but you should be able to after you get out of the tutorial ship. Just try making 3 chars when you fell like it.

The Tutorial Ship

To get off the ship you dont have to do anything except, talk to the people with exclamation mark. After that youll be zoned to the first town.

The first town Port of Coimbra

I havent figured much out here but it seems you cannot go outside to lvl here. To get on with the game go find the fat white mayor of the city, he stands on some stairs near the docks.
Talk to him. Then talk to him again to zone out to the next town where you can start to lvl etc. You can always come back to this harbour town.

Cite de Reboldoeux

Run around to npcs with exclamation marks above their head. More about each later. Youll figure the first things out by trial and error. Thing is you can go outside and start to lvl.

is the JP version like the KR version, where the game "HAS" to be installed on C drive??

the game doesnt have the be installed on c driver you can select , but whats takeing space is the TEMPORARY folder, you can change this folder easily, google up.

The installed game is only 3.5gb. 6gb+ if you keep hold of the client (i would suggest you do cos i wouldn't want to redownload it).

Are you using internet explorer for this? You have to! And allow for the plugin to install. It should open the download just fine. Also try to log in first.

Yes I am using IE. When i click on the blue button, the green window pops up I installed the plugin and when i start the download, i get Failed to Connect.

You play korean GE version 2.0.3 whatever... and the ones I have done are the same with Japanese version 1.9.6.9. They worked all right. Also helps if you roughly know what to do. So Ill do the things that work...

korean GE is version 2.0.14 :P
there's lots of new updates...like SP potions,new quests,npcs...they made changes to a few quests too....not to mention NPCs have been moved around...

After the two years I have been making registration guides in the place, one actualy gets stickied. I am kinda glad that they did not sticky some of the popular guides I made cuase if they did then Fgames would have never been made. As nicho said, the mission you mean is the kid ramiros first quest for you. Hes in queensgate right outside city of reboldoeux- opposite the fountain. You have to protect the dead body (blue square on alt+z zone map) from the hordes of mobs coming out of the three corridoors. after successfull mission, you can do ramiros second quest, where if you beat him in combat hell lend you his card. Go to barracks and create him there in the character create menu. Hell be last on thedrop down list. remember you have only 4 char slots at first, can however be expanded by paying a small amount of vis(ingame currency) to the mayor of port coimbra, for instance. He sells shop slots and character slots. ask someone if you want to know how to get more character slots.

so at this game you can play with 3 of your own chars ??

when you start of at the town you can do that quest which gives you a Guard Card or w/e...

and look through the quests, to see what you want to do- if you like the reward or do them all one by one.

And yes this version is free to play.

As for recipes, in the beginning you will find many in the first dungeon, then they seem to disappear alltogehter and will be quite rare at lvl 60.

They are indeed to make items. The guy selling fighter equips in Reboldoeux and Bernelli in Coimbra can make items from the recipes, they have this in their last options in the dialogue I think. Thing is you need lots of materials- the materials you usually loot. So I didnt bother making any yet.
There is actually a recipe seller in the Reboldoeux shopping lane. He can also synthesize materials, sometimes this is needed for a recipe. Hell take some of the materials you need for the item and make a third material from it, that is also required.

So dont worry about recipes till lvl 60... even then Im not bothered about them.

maybe there was maintenance being done on the website when you tried. I recommend you keep going back now and again and try to login. Or like SoulFunny said, you did not yet activate your account. And be sure to use Internet Explorer.

Lol, this is the worst and my currently most hated installer!

lol my comp is low on space ( i have a 80gb HDD) and i only have like 5-7gb lol and when i dl-ed the installer it was 3.6gb so i was ok with it then someone said it need 3.5gb to install GE and then i was like ok this ok! then when im installing it does the verifying thing so it took like 30-min-1hr lol and when it finidhed i click next next next...then it does the install part. then a pop-up came and said i dont have enough space so i was ok....maybe what the one of the first posts said "can be installed into any drive" so i was like ok maybe it accidently is being installed to some other drive (other than C) so i then did the verify thing again! another 30min-1hr lol, and then it goes to teh installed where i t still said C: drive so...then it said that it required: 3.5gb and the remaning space : -2.???gb (YES NEGATIVE) i only had 779mb!!! i was like wtf i remember have atleast 4-5gb (i freed up more space) then i noticed one HUGE ANNOYANCE! here:

1) GE dl-ing the installer----> 3.6gb
2) Verifying extracts another 3.5gb from the GE installer
3) then to install GE you need 3.5gb!!!!!!!!

TOTAL: 10.6 gb ( i think) WTF!!!!!!!! thats huge!..no now im in a huge dilemma on what to keep and what to delete.. my bro dls a lota stuf (movies...more "if-said-maybe-ban" stuff) so i can only delete a set ammount of stuff.. none of his bcuz he olda and...yea older bros..are....ya.... either way lol waste of space(this post i mean)....

Oh and last time i checked the game only takes 3 gb of my harddrive, and i have about 224GB total. And with 99 GB left, i gotta uninstall some crap (games, programes, u know)

The first one is in swedish but translated it's something like:

No idea, same thing happened to me today when I tried to play, but since I found no answer on this thread, I worked around it. If you want to play and the JN button won't work, how I went around it was to check the auto-start button on the patch window (the top box of the 2, the bottom one is window mode), and that's how I played. Hope that helps ya.

Hi, Im new to JGE and havent found any english/ german speaking players ingame as of yet. To try and get more people playing I will put everything I found out so far in a guide here. JGE is free to play.

STEP1
Your computer needs to support east asian language support. This can be done in the regional and language settings of your pc. Choose second tab LANGUAGE and tick the box INSTALL EASTASIAN LANGUAGES. This requires the windows cd, if you havent got one go to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=803A623E-C311-4591-A593-B0E24A6F38E8#filelist
scroll down and select JAMONDO.exe. I think that helps.

The other tool from ms u should get is this MICROSOFT APPLOCALE you can find it here http://www.freefunfiles.com/software/systemutilities/microsoftupdates/applocale-utility.html Install this and you only need this at the very end.

Thats all you need to fiddle.

STEP2

Now you can go on to register your account. You must use the Internet explorer to do this, firefox wont work properly. So start your IE and do this.

Now all you have to do is wait a night, the bandwidth you dl will increase over time.

STEP3

Installation is simple, you can choose any location on your harddrive-it doesnt have to be on C drive. Once you have done that use the ms applocale you installed earlier. Choose the granado espada.exe on your desktop. Select the last language in the list.

The quests to gain more charakters and to be able to control them (MMC) no longer are required. Im not sure if u can make your team with 3 chars right from the beginning, but you should be able to after you get out of the tutorial ship. Just try making 3 chars when you fell like it.

The Tutorial Ship

To get off the ship you dont have to do anything except, talk to the people with exclamation mark. After that youll be zoned to the first town.

The first town Port of Coimbra

I havent figured much out here but it seems you cannot go outside to lvl here. To get on with the game go find the fat white mayor of the city, he stands on some stairs near the docks.
Talk to him. Then talk to him again to zone out to the next town where you can start to lvl etc. You can always come back to this harbour town.

Run around to npcs with exclamation marks above their head. More about each later. Youll figure the first things out by trial and error. Thing is you can go outside and start to lvl.
