Too much grinding would be were your exp earned per kill is an average of .10% to .08% or below to your next level. Basically just like grinding at a wheat mill. You work hard to get something so small (flour).

So if one kill gives you .10% to your next level, that would mean you need to kill 1000 of those monsters to level up.

Please do not rely on WoW manual for the definition. I dont know where they got that definintion from, but its wrong.

Page 193 Grinding: Staying in the same area fighting the same types of monsters for a very long time.

Thats the definition of poor game development/mob disbursement.

LOL, my new mouse has a metal casing. YAY for my B-day being near tax return time!!!

Yeah, that woul be a good sign of grinding.... or you get that caked on dead skin in the cracks of your mouse.

The definiton in the WoW manual IS right... All of my friends who plays WoW has the same defiition of grinding, anyone who plays WoW has the same definition.

I don't think it has anything to do with how fast or slow you gain experience. To me, grinding is performing uninteresting, repetitive action(s) in order to advance.

People complaining about the grind in WoW have never played stuff like Lineage or the original EverQuest where certain race/class combos had some nasty exp penalties.

Here's straight from WoW handbook: "Staying in the same area fighting the same types of monsters for a very long time."

HMMMM, I wonder?

0.1 and 0.10 is the same
0.3 is larger than 0.1

So your saying killing 333.333333333(infinite) mobs is a bigger grind than killing 1000 mobs.

Just think about it.

If the grind rate was 1.0 that would mean 100 kills to level up. Now, 0.1 would mean 1000, and .01 would mean 10,000 kills to level up.

By what you said, Maple Story has an easy grind.

it seems that 'most' asian to english ports are grinders.
i guess thats why they are 'westernizing' games these days
because on this continent we are more in depth and enjoy questing and new things, while those asians just go hard all day nonstop grindfest style.
