Greetings Mechanaught test pilots!

We’re gearing up for some important events in the Exteel universe here at NCsoft and we want to make sure everyone is informed as to what is going on.

The first thing to mention is that the closed beta will end as of January 31 at 10:00AM Central Standard Time (CST). Exteel will remain closed for a couple of weeks, after which we will re-open the game, with a new version, for open beta. The forums will remain up and running during this entire period.

In the transitional period between the closed beta and open beta, we will be integrating a new patch into the game as well as finalizing certain systems that need to be in place before Exteel goes live. Of note is that we will wipe the player database before we start open testing, essentially erasing all player data except for your unique Game account. This means that you will need to create your callsigns all over again. Once the open beta is completed, we will repeat this process with the erasure of the player database before the game goes live.

As for the open beta, again we can’t give an exact date as to when it’ll go live, but should take place a few weeks after we shut down the closed beta. The new build will boast all kinds of new and improved features, including UI improvements, better explanation as to the modification of parts, the addition of Windowed mode, some adjustment in weapons balance, and the ability of room owners to better manage lagging players, just to start.

Finally, we want to thank every single one of you who participated in the closed beta. Your input, thoughts, ideas and conduct have helped tremendously in Exteel’s development and we hope to continue this process through these next stages in the beta.

unfortunately exteel beta wont be a few weeks, it has announced 1+2/3 weeks now(almost 2) and will added up nearly a month then the open beta surely.

Hell, you could be telling the truth..

A couple weeks its coming back in march early april i heard. But they have not thought of a payment plan so that might delay it some more.

I can't wait. I wonder why people say this game is so bad when all that was wrong in the closed beta was the lack of players.

Here's the one main reason I think people say it's bad.

Automatic Lock-On. Whenever I see some type of thread about Exteel someone always has something bad to say about it.

They must be assuming though. Cause if they played enough they'd know it says when someone locks onto you and that it is easy to dodge.

i sure hope OB begins soon... cant wait to play it... i waited for this game since the Official Website is online.................. ARGH wanna play! *owns some guys on Warrock to kill time* on a side note.. i hate it that there is not even an estimated date for OB in the news :/ i already consider learnin koreanish to play it ~.~' and NO i DONT need it to live my life, but my life will be happier with it <.<

We want to thank you for your patience during this extended game downtime. Currently, we are still in-between phases (between the closed beta and a more open beta) and we wanted to provide you all an update as to what is going on:

Right now we are working on two new systems that will enhance the new patch: the clan system and the web ranking system. We feel these will add greatly to the Exteel experience, and we can’t wait for you all to see them. We’re preparing an extensive set of invitations for the next phase of the beta, which will include all current beta accounts, just to make sure we cover everyone we’ve ever invited. On top of that, we’re going to be adding a lot more new players!

We’re also working on an NCcoin giveaway. These coins are part of our micro-payment system, allowing players to purchase in-game items. We’ll be distributing these for free - for a limited time. Accompanying this giveaway there will be a special event for testers, the Exteel Smashfest. The idea behind this event is to get everyone into the game in the same time, and get a *lot* of matches going. It’s going to be a blast! On top of that, the player database will *not* be wiped between this NCcoin giveaway and launch. So this is an excellent opportunity to earn some coin, attain new rank, and get your Mechanaught all jazzed up before launch. This is a special thank you from us for all your hard work and dedication.

Open beta will officially begin a few days after this event has ended. We’ll be sending out emails to both new and existing registered account owners with all the juicy details–it will include information regarding the event AND open beta.

We will provide specific dates and other details at a later date, but we do hope that this status update has proved to be helpful. As you know, we're now out of February, so please keep an eye on your mailbox during this month of March.

Right now it's casual feeling but if they add that it will be competitive and ruin the community. :(

umm... if im wrong excuse me... but... since when r there good communitys in mmofps/tps? well atleast i didnt find one till now Oo and on a side note... u play fps/tps to kill ur anger while killin the nerve of other ppl... multiple stalker kills and such nice things which make u happy in the moment ur pretty down ^^

Also some servers on Counter Strike have good communities and so does Planetside there's alot.

Well i see the whole mass playin the Game as the Community, but u see the Clans and Fansites etc as Communitys in their own way. So itll be the same for eXteel, there will be a few Clans too and theres everytime for nearly everygame such Clans/Fansite communitys so i dont think such a small matter will blow the whole game community. Besides that event will only take plz in a short span of time so i dont realy think itll couse any problems after its end and a few weeks after that there should be nothin left from it, besides of a few Players with new "Equip" on their bots ^^ Oh and btw. u should know that the Premium equip isnt that much better compared to the normal ones, atleast thats what i heard so it shouldnt be that bad. And alil competition sometimes is good i think, it keeps the game alive, i wouldnt even mind if such a event would take place every 3 month or so ^^

EDIT: Arghhh when will be OB? Im nearly at my limit of my patience which would be no big deal, but i wanna play it badly :( its the first game i can say: I waited my whole life just to play somethin like this. I loved Transformers as a child, i love Mech animes like Gundam and i loved eXteel with the first E3 Trailer i saw. Mah i want to play it already...

Hope it will be out soon, have never played robo mech game, but im sure im gunna love em! Oh!, almost forgot, glacian, u said that we should wait for it on march, well, we are almost at the end of april, what should we understand from this? that its about to be released, and we will be playing anytime soon, or that u are not taking the opening seriously and OB will be released in about 2 years?

On a scale of 1 to 12223 how good was the beta?

only about 10k. Because there were still quite a few bugs and the community size stank.
