Greetings!

currently Paddington Studios is looking for new recruits to help develop their new MMORPG; Summer's Moon Online.
We are in need of everyone with a good talent for game making...ie: drawing/sketching, 2D art, 3D art, programming, story writing, and any other skill that you belive would fit under the category mentioned above. Also we will be looking for more webdesigner and webartists to help develop our website.

Summer's Moon Online Forums (http://summersmoon.inh1.net/forum/YaBB.pl)
Summer's Moon Online Official Website (http://www.summersmoon.inh1.net/) (we're currently having technical difficulties with the website...)

Short plot/background:
Shizen; the world played in, was created by the seven moons orbiting it. Each moon with it's own spirit who are viewed as gods in most places in Shizen. There are four seasons on Shizen and during each one, two moons are visible, except for Summer, where only the one Summer's Moon is visible at night. Summer's Moon, or Daishiro is the spirit symbolizing life and soul, and was the only spirit so far to actually come down to Shizen and walk among nature.

The main island is called Tzai'mu and was first inhabited by humans, however other races also exist on it's fertile lands. Also the main architectural style on Tzai'mu is somewhat oriental but varries in different provinces.

uumm...thats the BASIC idea there...theres more but it's for people on the dev team only for now. i can't tell you all that this MMORPG will be slightly more technologically advanced than most, and the moons will have a big influence on quests, skills and economy.

More info can be found on our website and forums.

Thank you for your time :)

Hello,

I am a professional SQL Server DBA with experience in application development, web development, forum management, game mods, story development, and game development. You can view my resume as well as some of my work here: http://www.justinames.com/

I am very interested in assisting you in any way possible. In addition to the SQL Server experience on my resume', I am currently learning php/mysql, and have some experience in VFP, VB, and .NET as well.

You can reach me at GameDev@JustinAmes.com. I usually just go by AmesJustin, but sometimes as Gojira. If you want to see some of my modding/ideas of the past, search the CivFanatics forums for AmesJustin, and the Jolt forums for Gojira.

I can offer a wide variety of services, particularly in database development/management. I can't wait to hear from you.

Thank you for your post Amesjustin! I'm glad to see such enthusiasm!
You seem very professional in what your doing and one thing I should say right now is that Paddington Studios will be unable to offer you any compensation as of now. Perhaps in the future when we get the topic of P2P and F2P out of the way we will discuss wages and payment, however for now, we are unable to give any compensation except the thought of knowing that your work is in a soon to be successful MMORPG.

Secondly, there is another thing you should that might affect your desire to join the development team greatly. I am a 16-year-old Canadian boy living in Japan. I still have around one year of school left. If you don't think that I can make a successful MMORPG at this age or due to these circumstances then I suggest you find another game development project that welcomes people with no determination. However, if you have still not lost faith in my abilities, then Paddington Studios would love to have you aboard!

It's your choice Justin! Thank you for your time and patience.

Haanz,

Right now this kind of thing is my hobby. The experience gained is payment enough. I am not deterred by your age, because to be honest no one is successfull in their first handfull of games. I don't expect the first couple dozen games either of us produce to be raging successes, but I do expect that we learn from them, so the next game is that much better. The fact that you are so young just means you are cutting your teeth much earlier than I.

So as long you understand that my help will be part time, as I do have a career, family, and game of my own to write, than I am still willing to help you. :)

just a quick update.

So far we've only been documenting still, however we just started development on the first map. Here's a sneak peek at two gates that will be featured in the main city.

This gate will be inside the city, probably leading to the royal grounds

This gate will be the northern exit to the city. It doesn't look to big in this picture but it's scale will be PRETTY big!

Ok, we're in need of some artists now! 2D artists. People with atleast mediocre drawing/ sketching skills or poeple with atleast mediocre computer 2D art design skills.

You must also have a VERY good imagination...we don't want Ideas from other games, we want NEW ideas

What was the inspiration behind the title of the world, "Shizen"? To warn you in advance of any snickering that might come your way, this word is also German for 'feces', in its more vulgar form.

oh really?? hah oh well... The game will be in English, so let's hope not too many immature German speaking kids come and play it...:P

Shizen in Japanese however, means Nature! and that's why I chose Shizen...and yes... I know... using other languages in game content is rather lame... but I like it no mater what it means in German
