I like the creativity but the background could be better, then again for a first PS its not bad.

You got a good idea going on there and you got the sprites, but I'd suggest you work out your edges some more. It's too pixelated now, too rough.
Perhaps choose some blending options and add a small glowing white edge to easily get rid of it.
Other than that, edit your colors some more. The bright moonlight doesn't mix well with the dark blueish background. Using a bright background with the correct colors in combination with a bright, cute picture looks better (Look at Horaki's signature for a perfect example of a bright, cute picture with a soft, bright background. It mixes just great).

So, it's nice right now, but could be improved a bit. ^^
