This is (Or rather, was) Lunian, a former moderator of this section. I'm the one who made the original "Races and Classes" sticky. Anyway, I planned to make a little comeback to run an RP or two. The key to this RP is that the participants will be RPing in defined roles. I'll only need two other people for this RP. I'll mention the story in each role. The setting of the RP is in modern times, in a large metropolitian city in North America. Magic exists, but it is extremely deep underground: Miss Cleo is still a con. It is generally believe to be a myth, often feared when seen. Most of the people who are aware of it choose not to use it due to the risks of not fully understanding it.

THE HERO - The hero has always been a fan of superheroes, whether in comics books or on television. In a moment of curiousity, they managed to perform a terrible magic: summon a devil from Hell! Perhaps inspired by Spawn, they asked the devil for a superhero's powers, and got them... Strangely, at no price. Now they go forward to become the first real-life superhero by taking on the mafia on their own! The question is, how will they do it? The hero's power is to transform. This is not, however, unlimited. The hero can only transform their limbs, and only one at a time. The transformation also has to work. So, while they can transform into a chainsaw, pistol, whip, functional wings or the like, they cannot transform into a laser gun (As a laser gun would not work in real life, as the heat created would destroy the gun). When transforming into a gun or something electrically powered, it tires out the character to use due to removing matter from the body for the first and using the body's energy for the second. So, using a machine gun for more than a few bursts or using your hand a taser will knock the Hero out very quickly. The hero cannot transform into explosives such as grenades or rocket launchers at all. When confronting the mafia or other enemies, it takes a post's time to finish transforming a body part. So, if you choose to transform your arm into a rope to swing away from enemies shooting at you, than you have to declare that you are turning your hand into a rope, wait for someone else to post, and then you can use the rope. Your ability to transform also makes you immune to a certain amount of damage; if something does not kill you right away, you can heal yourself at the cost of not transforming for that post. This is the exception to the rules of only transforming your limbs and only transforming one at a time. Bear in mind that taking damage wastes your time, and by wasting time you may be stopped from fulfilling your objectives. Unlike the other roles, the hero only controls one character.

THE FRIEND (Controls civilian NPCs) - The main character that the friend controls is the hero's best friend and confidant to the hero. If the hero has a secret identity, the friend is the only person who knows it. The friend has some magical powers, but overall supports the hero by giving them enchanted items and is incapable of entering dangerous battles themselves. They have to rely on the protection of the hero if they find themselves in the battlefield. The character of the friend generally does not follow the hero into battles due to the danger of it. However, the RPer who takes this role also takes control of the civilians - characters who are not the hero or part of the mafia, but are caught in the middle of this battle due to being there while the hero attempts to stop a crime.

THE MOB BOSS (Controls the mafia) - This will be my character. I will control not only the mob boss but the boss' mafia. The mob boss is the ultimate rival of the hero, but does not show his face to the hero: he acts through the mafiosi under him. As the hero is difficult to kill with all but the most dangerous weaponry, most crimes will be based off time: the hero only has a certain amount of time to stop the mob boss from getting away with the crime.

If you want to join, I'll need a sample of your posting style. This will be done by PMing me your first post: if I have chosen you for a role, I'll ask you to post it. If not, I'll tell you how you can improve it.

Those applying for the role of the hero send me their posts first: their post will detail the hero after gaining their powers and experiment with them. If the person playing the hero wants to adopt a secret identity, do not do so yet. This first post is the only time that you're allowed to transform completely (Or even multiple times) in one post.

Those applying for the role of the friend send me your posts only after the hero has posted. Your post will focus on you seeing the hero during their test of their powers (The hero will have posted already), and deciding to meet with them and be their helper.
