Hey guys, i'm just wondering what role everyone plays in the game mainly, is it interrupting skills, doing some massive AoE damage, single-target spiking, just plain minionmancing or tanking? There are many styles to play GW, but i'm just wondering what everyone plays as and it's purpose.
I'm also hoping that everyone will post their builds and we can see how well it works, or rather, give a constructive criticism on it. I play Assassin, and my role is to support spike, or to flank enemy backlines when no one's noticing. Taking out squishies is the job of a spiker, be it PvP or PvE.
So, what's your preferred style of gameplay and why?

My main PVE character - W/Mo
Steady Stance {E} - Drunken Blow - Desperation Blow - Soldier's Strike - "Watch Yourself!" - "Fear Me!" - Healing Signet - Rebirth
Provides steady damage, has energy denial, has an Unblockable attack, and gives a constant +24 armor to everyone within earshot. It also has great energy management and lots of adrenaline gain.
My main PVP character - A/E
Unsuspecting Strike - Fox Fangs - Critical Strike - Moebius Strike {E} - Critical Eye - Way Of Perfection - Cricital Defenses - Resurrection Signet
Uses Moebius Strike and Critical Strike to sustain a high DPS while staying alive using Way Of Perfection and Critical Defenses.

my first char was a minion master of whom i loved dearly my bro killed him(deleted) after i made my warrior sence then i have been mainly tanking one time i got pwnd by a mesmer so i used a mes for a while as a single spike pwner hi domination and high fast cast so i would kill him by takin his energy.
I use my warrior mainly for PvE because i beat prophecies and half of factions with him. i usualy just go to missions and quests that were hard for me when i was a n00b or or when i was a low lvl thats always fun.
i use my assassin for an FFF(Fast Factions Farm) i run in kill someone and then GTFO (get the F*ck out) if u cant tell the astrict* is a (u).
as i have said in previous posts i use my 55 all the time for plvlin my heroes and just showin off to n00bs who r like haha 55 monks cant farm nymore they got nerfed. theirs nothin different from the old farmin ppl just stopped cuz they suck at it and some ppl r stupid their like those things do like 6-80 dmg agains max warrior armor u have 55 health UR SCREWED im like protective spirit dumbass.
i am currently almost done with factions on my ranger. toucher is a good build in north shiverpeaks because thats what its used for runnin up and doing the touching thing and then runnin from the police because touching ppl gets u registered as a sex offender lol. i also use him as a barrage ranger because barrage is such a pwnage skill especialy when ur with two or three barrage rangers i did villany of gairath with my barrage i used 2 heroes my barrage ranger jin barrage and tahlkora and my friend used his barrage ranger and his two heroes barrage ranger magrid and dunkoro. we wer all lvl 20s heroes and all. it was so freakin awesome only prob was that the only tanks we had wer mine and his cats mine lvl 19 his lvl 20. but what was cool was when the minetaur would come in their heards of 5 or 6. we would have a... well barrage of arrows pwnin them down. easy as pie.
i have used my monk as a prot heal monk who would take care of one warrior or assassin so that they could take litterally hundreds of damage i had 50 energy and would use low cost prots to keep him alive as long as possible. it was cool.
now to mah dervish. i did not figure out how to truly use a dervish until i was lvl 8 i think and after i had pvped my friends derv vs. my assassin i noticed what skills he used and figured out what they did. by the time i was lvl 9 i had a mission where i took the LONG way on accident and bumped into a random rouge umm whatever the bad guy ppl in NF r called he was a ranger lvl 19 and used a poison attack at this time i had me melloni koss and dunkoro well we pwnd her after we took out her little friends first but i had to hold my heroes back b/c i needed to pull the weaker ppl out away from her so we did not have to fight them all at once. she came in while we wer killing the lvl 10 captain the last one alive as soon as we hit the last blow on him i was poisoned and at 30% health i quikly took off some enchants to heal myself and me and dunkoro wer the only ppl to survive the rancid *****es arrows. yes i did kill her. on first try too i was happy. i still cant run droks with my derv but i just like fighting with it. very fun char to use.
i sure hope this answers ur question! :)

No, not unless it's informative to the community. You posted a chunk of information that most people probably wouldn't even be reading, but I thank you for replying. However, refrain from posting personal experiences unless they are helpful in supporting your opinions.

I have a bunch of PvE Ele builds I've been using lately for different purposes, I guess I'll share.
Build: E/A Assassin's Promise Nuker.
Purpose: general AoE nuking for most areas in the game; Assassin's Promise recharges your skills and nets energy.
Attributes: 12+4 Fire, 8+1 Energy Storage, 10 Deadly Arts.
Skills: Fireball, Liquid Flame, Assassin's Promise*, Rodgort's Invocation, Meteor Shower, Glyph of Sacrifice, Fire Attunement, Res sig.
Build: E/* Invoke Air Spiker.
Purpose: heavy spiking on tough non-numerous monsters, such as creatures in the Realm of Torment.
Attributes: 12+4 Air, 12+1 Energy Storage.
Skills: Invoke Lightning*, Chain Lightning, Lightning Orb, Lightning Strike, Lightbringer's Gaze, Glyph of Lesser Energy, Air Attunement, Sunspear sig.
Build: E/Me "steal your stuff" Nuker.
Purpose: The Deep elite mission, mostly; copy Glyph of Renewal from other Ele's and use it.
Attributes: 12+4 Fire, 9+1 Energy Storage, 9 Inspiration.
Skills: Fireball, Arcane Echo, Inspired/Revealed Enchantment, Rodgort's Invocation, Meteor Shower, Fire Attunement, Elemental Attunement*, Arcane Mimicry.

You made an A/E nuker? Were you, like, casting a Meteor Shower and then stabbing the enemy to regen energy with crits? XD

Actually, i've thought of A/E nuker as well, seeing as how Deadly Haste is in the critical strikes attribute, we could probably spam Lava Arrows and Mark of Rodgort along with it. Unfortunately, I think we'd run outta energy, fast.

actually assassins nuking is actually viable.
Assassin / Elementalist
Warlock
Fire 6
Water 2
Dagger 11
Shadow 9/10
Crit 13
Fire Daggers - 25+ Energy Armor
Mark of Rodgort
Black Lotus
Twisting Fangs
Steam ( very good blind with this build ) or Dash
Black Spider
Shattering Assault ( E )
Shadow Refuge - F.N.
ReZ
This build is pretty fun and constant on dps. Not just because a dagger sin hits faster its mainly of the constant pressure your putting on your target on top of Burning. Basically use the combo as stated - Mark of Rodgort -> Black lotus for energy / dmg - TF - Steam ( blinds enemy if there set on fire )
You can use it between any attacks. Black Spider - Shattering Assault
Besides having the normal Poison - Bleeding - Deepwound on the enemy, there constantly getting set on fire for 2 seconds but since daggers hit so rapidly they really have no room to breathe between attacks. Shattering Assault is good to use as your second Dual since by then the enemy is either healing or getting healed thus you can make use of the Shatter - vs. other sins its great.
Surging Sin
Air 10
Dagger 12
Shadow 10
Crit 9 or higher
Zealous Daggers
Lightning Surge ( Elite hex ) After 3 seconds, target foe is knocked down and struck for 14...83 lightning damage.
Black Lotus
Twisting Fangs
Falling Spider
Blades of Steel
- ( Glyph of Elemental power is fun to use but whatever you want really )
Shadow Refuge
ReZ
This setup is definetly one of the strongest spikes I've seen in a while. The thing is there is lots of room for error to spike correctly especially in RA.
Combo - Lighting Surge ( hex + kd ) - Black Lotus for energy - Twisting Fangs - Right after enemy might be getting up from KD or still on ground but Falling Spider will connect - then Blades of Steel to finish them.
If you can't spike fast enough due to the 3 sec. window L.Surge gives you I suggest at least hitting them with Falling Spider when they fall then go into TF.
Seriously try this out - even an armored 100 dummy doesn't laster longer than 5 seconds.
Shine on you Crazy Sin
Air 10
Daggers 12
Shadow 9
Crit 11
Lightning Daggers
Glimmering Mark ( E ) For 1...13 seconds, whenever target foe suffers lightning damage, that foe and all adjacent foes suffer from blindness for 5 seconds. 10 Energy - Hex
Black Lotus
Twisting Fangs
Black Spider
Death Blossom - Blades of Steel
Shadow Refuge
Dash
ReZ
Very fun build that's quite good on survivability. Reason being once you pick a target and throw the hex on them the enemies around you will get blind every time you hit the hexed enemy as well as your target.
For example: Earlier the setup couldn't have been used better. My team fought 3 Wars and a Monk. I rushed monk and threw the hex on them and let the warriors surround me thinking they can get the jump before I do. So once they gathered around me just by hitting the monk I was blinding them all leaving me team open to options.
Combo is usual setup - Glimmering Mark - Black Lotus - TF - Black Spider - Death Blossom or Blades of Steel. While your hitting enemy with hex on I suggest using Shadow Refuge to give you more surviability so once hex goes off you still have regen and health if attacking. Glimmering Mark recharge is 10 seconds I believe so its not to bad. Just don't spam it constantly because the only energy your getting back is from Black Lotus which recharges in 12 seconds.
Cold Blooded
Icy Shackles - For 5...17 seconds, target foe's movement speed is reduced by 66% If target is enchanted foe moves 90% slower. 15 recharge.
Black Lotus
Horns
Black Spider
Twisting Fangs
Armor of Mist / Frigid Armor
Shadow Refuge
Rez
Zealous Daggers
Simple type of build just like others - requires hex on target to be effective. This elite is great on Dervs - Eles - and of course Monks. Constantly speed reduction being a hex on top that recharges 5 seconds faster than S. Prison is definetly something to look at. Although no shadow step kiting is much easier.

Guys, I don't think you can call any Assassin/Elementalist a "nuker". In my book, a "nuker" is a build able to cause massive and (relatively) continuous AoE damage.
The closest thing to a nuke an Assassin has is probably Death Blossom.

Very interesting builds Zenith, those actually look pretty viable, with the hard part getting the elemental daggers. Still, they look like they can mess up and disorientate a team badly.
