People who think this way is too narrow minded and unexperienced in gaming, they think that every platformer is a maplestory clone just cos its their first and only MMORPG or atleast addicted to it, well let me tell you something, there were thousands of platformer games before maplestory, so why dont you say its a mario clone?

Hmm, I have seen the product of some GM games and in the multiplayer field they are not all that...However good luck all the same sync problem is likely the result of bad networking try TCP instead of UDP if you happen to be sending messages via UDP for speed

we dont call it a mario clone because mario is small and doesnt have a giant sword.

Gamemaker does use coding.

Dennis56

GameMaker doesn't use coding, it uses scripting. Don't get me wrong, I'm always defending GM, simply because I've gotten it to do a lot of things that people said couldn't be done. But no, it can't create an MMO. Mutiplayer? Yes. Online? Yes. Masive? Not even close.

GM is for creating indie games, that's all.

well, i dont even make the game. I'm the GFX person. Yea, i got the words coding and scripting mixed up, thanks. But anyway, just wait, the game will be better than any GameMaker game ever made. And yes, you can make a massive orpg. If you have enough skill and as for you, i seriously doubt it. The game is aiming high for a reason, even has a cashshop built in, just locked for now.

Actually to be honest, you really can't make a massive orpg. At least, I don't think. You would need very fast, efficient, and stable code to run a server with that many connections going into and coming out of it all the time. Game Maker doesn't offer that. Not to say that Game Maker's bad, you can probably stuff a bunch of people on a server before it crashes, We're just saying that it won't hold that many.

gm is my pray I really hate people who use game maker and thing there gonna make something like WoW or guild wars... gm maker can be good for things like making a demo of a game your going to develop or for a site looking to build up a small community

Unreal Engine FTW...

Okay...It's just a dream of mine T_T

Anyway, GameMaker isn't that good. I made my first RPG in GM though, and at the time I thought it was pretty cool, didn't release it, haven't stuck it in my portfolio, it was just another step on the stairs to greatness.

If you're thinking this is going to get big, I would suggest Electro-therapy.
