Firefox is superior, but only by a small amount. There's actually a plug-in now that allows you too launch IE embedded in tabs. No clue which one it is though.

IF IE 7 Had a plug in like Downloadthemall i would stop using Firefox thats the only reason i use it in the first place.

If FireFox would allow users to manually run Direct X plug-ins through it's system then I would say it's the best.
But for any Foreign MMOer, IE is the best.
Hopefully FireFox 3 will allow us to do that. As well as update the dictionary for it's stupid spell check.

It's like this.
IE has a few hundred active exploits in it, most of which can be exploited without the user's knowledge(happened to me one). Firefox just had two exploits found, one which only works on versions before 2.0, and the other one is just a phishing site able to trick the phishing filter into thinking it's the real site.
A quick look at the address bar can tell you if the site is a fake or not, and it doesn't effect your computer directly.
Also, IE supports about 50% of the web standards, while firefox supports somewhere around 98%
Basically what that means is that in IE, 50% of the web code does not work in it.
And then theres everything else thats been mentioned.
It's faster, more secure, and has extensions which allows you to pimp it out to work the way you want.
yea, there are a few sites that are "IE only", but the reason why is due to the coders. Whats going on there is that they are not following the web coding standards. Instead they are using special "IE only" tags which only IE can decode, and they are owned by Microsoft.
In truth, you could make a site much easier and it would look a lot nicer if you stuck to the standards, but some coders are still stuck in 1995, back in the days of the great browser wars.(IE vs Netscape)

I don't know, but after so many years without seeing your signature, I feel a bit refreshed.

Firefox. IE 7 always gives me an error everytime I close it. And making new tabs is slow. Simple and easy to use

Almost all of them look bad unless you're desktop is themed too. So I suggest sticking with the all-purpose default. :)

I use firefox because of it's customizability. There are some extensions that I use too often to switch (mouse gestures being the major one).

Adblock Plus (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1865/)
DownThemAll! (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/201/)
IE Tab (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1419/)
Linkification (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/190/)
SmoothWheel (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/357/)
Tab Mix Plus (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1122/)
URL Fixer (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2871/)
Adblock prevents ads from showing. You won't see the ads, and pages load faster because of that.
DownThemAll is a download manager that lets you download all of a specific file type on a web site. It also increases download speeds by splitting the file (like Flashgot does).
IE Tab lets you view the page in IE, but embedded in Firefox.
Linkification makes typed out links clickable.
SmoothWheel makes scrolling smooth and has customizable speed settings.
Tab Mix Plus lets you reopen closed tabs, and puts a loading bar on each tab.
URL fixer fixes typos (like google.con).

Mozilla > Firefox.
The only problem is mouse gestures, which Mozilla Suite doesn't have (to my knowledge).

I just tried it out and so far i would say its 20% better than IE in speed. The plugins are aggravating the hell outta me, but the speed is better nonetheless.

Personally, I prefer IE. What ever was said about IE not supporting web standards...not sure where you got that info. I'm a web developer and, while you have to try to make everything cross-browser compatible, both browsers support web-coding standards (each is just a bit different, no better no worse).
Basically, Firefox is more secure, but doesn't allow for a lot of active content on the internet. If you know what you're doing, IE is great. If you're surfing blindly and checking out lots of warez and porn, Firefox will protect you from viruses.
P.S. Since viruses do tend to attack IE, I do also have Firefox (in case my IE is ever taken down). So I guess, I recommend both.

Didn't say that it didn't support standards, just that it has one of the worst standards support of major browsers.
Web standards support:
http://www.proxy80.com/cgi-bin/nph-proxy.cgi/000000A/http/www.webdevout.net/browser-support (http://www.proxy80.com/cgi-bin/nph-proxy.cgi/000000A/http/www.webdevout.net/browser-support#summary)
If you don't want to look at all the details, a quick summery:
http://www.proxy80.com/cgi-bin/nph-proxy.cgi/000000A/http/www.webdevout.net/browser-support-summary
As for active content, java is able to do everything active X can and is more secure because it is not intergrated in the windows kernal
A good example of IE vs FF is this page:
http://www.4chan.org/nav.php
(after the "im old enough to view" thing)
Put your mouse over a link in IE
Then do the same in FF
See the difference?
This is a very basic CSS function that existed near the start of it's exsistance, but IE does not support it.
The only thing that I've noticed that IE handles real nicely are tables. But the rest? I've had countless hours of trouble to make something basic and simple that, by the W3C standards is a active tag, work in IE.

Do you have the extension NoScript installed? It might be set to not allow any Flash.
