Realplayer=worst media player ever.
Fills your computer with spam and shit.

As for players with ipod support, there is... Media monkey which is really a poor player and more just a music manager to help you orginize your music.

Foobar 2000 is easily the best, but it's really only usable with experienced users. It can convert to just about any audio format (as long as you have the encoder) and plays a bunch of different formats. I'd only recommend using it if you know what you're doing. You have to customize the interface yourself.

If you get Winamp, get the lite version and use the classic skin. Should ease on the memory usage. I personally have to use it in order to make certain features of my desktop usable, so I am always looking for ways to make it as lightweight as possible.

If you simply hate winamp though, like your post implies, go for Foobar2000.

Or if your looking for absolutely no extra features and little to no memory usage, give Billy (http://www.sheepfriends.com/?page=billy) a try. It lacks just about any feature other than playing a few audio formats and it's not flashy at all, but it's an option if it's what your into...
