The game is GREAT! The combat is close to Mabi so im happy to have another mmorpg that takes little bit of a brain to play.If anyone has any problems with filling in the name of your character at character creation either make it all caps with spaces in the word or use a japanese name.

Im in game as well my name is strawberry but wrighten in japanese with a s at the end (why the s seems the name was taken lol) いちごｓ well i think this is it the game is marvelous! its really a bit like mabinogi but youve got the shin megami atmosphere with the music and all im in love ^_^ (goes back to her japanese book in order to understand the game :p )

I hope to c ya all in game i have yet discovered how to add friends tough :hmm: anyway^^


Edit : i ve played a bit more and the skill system is a bit like the one encountered in Master of Epic crossed with the skill system found in all shin megami (or Persona), also in order to understand it there is a pretty good tutorial (Virtual training ) with pictures which will let you understand basically what you have to do. This tutorial as something like five rooms with a particular theme in each one and can be done again and again if you have missed anything explained (this will be a lot for us foreigners :P) In order to do it just speak with the woman dressed in blue that you will encounter at the exit of the training and select the first option . There is a good number of them and they make the combat system as thrilling as in Mabinogi or Master of Epic. As for the towns and all its basically the same architecture found in the shin megami tenseis games meaning that you will find a nursery, a weapon shop (and armor one) ,and the sacrificial room or velvet room (i couldnt translate properly and i dont remember the name in the previous game) in this room you will be able to do all the mixing and new breeding of monsters. Also when trying to capture a monster you will need to chat with him so that he can join you wheter you answer correctly to what he is saying or being that he likes what you are saying he will join you. Well this is all i gather so far i will go back a bit tomorrow^^.

Oh and i think we should all bring some more informations and share or knowledge so that it would be easier to understand the game because Its really complex... (So japanese speakers do enter the thread hehe!)

Salyne, from what i understand from the errors you posted you can not play the game. They are both graphic errors. I could be wrong though my JP isn't that good

hum that is what i understand also salyne but my japanese isnt also really good . The game do ask a lot of ressources tough so it might be that...

Edit about typing in japanese you need to configure your IME settings and get the advance complex languague pack obtained in a windows CD and about the name just type the name of an object in Google or a color whatever lets say for ex RED you type it in google you ask to translate in japanese what you obtain , you just copy and then paste it in game (CTRL+C, CTRL+V)

Daigo, that will probably save a lot of time if ya posted a guide on how to do it for the people here that might start posting on asking how to do it

I'm working on the stat translations right now and will probrably start on the classes/skills aswell.

For the windows IME you will need to install East asian languages. To do this you will need a windows XP disc. With that in hand go to control panel click on date,time,language and regional options. Then click on regional and language setups.with that done a window will pop up with 3 tabs click on languages then look at the bottom you will find to check boxes. check the one that says "Install files for east asian languages". Reset and you should now have a new bar next to your taskbar. It will probrably say EN click on that and change it to JP.

When you have changed it to JP you will see an A in that bar click on that and click the option that has a (L) on it. That will change it into Half width alpha numericalm dont forget to change it back when your done.

OK this is what i have for the stats.

力 = Strength raises attack damage
魔力 = Wisdom raises magic damage
体力 = Raises HP (not sure what to call it)
知力 = Raises MP
速さ = Agility raises damage of gun
運 = Although im not so sure i will call this one dex. It raises the probrability of criticals. Also in this game dex influences drop rates.

Recruiting demons: to recruit a demon you will need to use the negotiation skill.Click on the PC icon go to the list of skills you have availabe and look for a guy with his hand up thats the negotiation skill.If a cube appears all you will get is items.If an egg appears you have recruited the demon double click on the egg and you retrieve the demon from the egg. Dont expect this to be easy,sometimes it can take an hour.Also i've noticed that the demons re-act the same way they do in nocturne in certain moons.New moon everyone is all happy and you have a higher chance of recruiting, Full moon they are all pissed off they will even attack you for just talking to them.

Learning new skills: Remember when you went through the training and how you learned fire? well dont forget to enable the skills you will be using so they can rank up. When new skills are available the will have a red exclamation mark next to it.

you can try using Applocale ya know

u have to use applocale and use it on the installer and choose the last option(in the list for choosing which language) :D thats how i fixed mine and i just have 1 lil prob(the one with 2 errors) im trying to fix it

no clue man, when you first sign in there should be a blinking green option. from there on i dont see there being any problems unless the name youre trying to us eis already being used. Try a re-install maybe? or post a pic when your on the creation screen

you can go all magic if you'd like, just keep leveling your magic skill by using fire. by rank 3 you should get ice, by 5 you get both lightning and earth. The highest you can level your skill in beta right now is class 2.

I started playing on the 22nd or something... First thing I did was buy my character a gun, problem was... I had no idea where stats and skills were and how to alter them... Guns were also kind of gimp, and hard to time...

So, I rerolled and started a new character. His name is like Kukishi or something.. He uses big hammers now :) I haven't played since Saturday though, the game is awesome and I love the graphics style.. But to be honest, it feels kind of incompleted, like there's not enough to do(to be expected, it is just the beta).... The game is also pretty difficult... The fact that it's in a foreign language just makes it even more difficult... Anyway, on my second character I got to level 12 in 4-5 hours(let's say an afternoon), so that's a good scale to base how fast/slow grinding is.

Good game, probably one of the best foreign games I've played next to Mabinogi(mabi is just way too innovative to be able to get the cake taken away by SMT Online :p )

alright well Utomori if u didnt delete ur character all ui had to was go to were u have ur skills like attack and defense all that and u can add ur attack for gun moves it happened to me but i found it and then u can level it up just like all the other things.

I havent played in about a month. I did evreything there was to do so far, so ill wait till it gets a few more updates. Im level 22 and 15.

jaja, same to me. Seems like a lot of people are currently playing this so every time I tried to play I've had a terrible lag... so i'm not playing right now. But that doesn't mean thats a bad game :) it's really good :3 i will play it again when i've got much time and less lag XD

I found a problem that is fixed so easily.
In the user name portion, you CAN type in English,
BUT!!!
there has to be no capital letters.

Also, what stats do you raise if you want to use guns?
I assume it's the last 2 ones, AGI for gun damage and the last one fro criticals.

What does the bronze ring item thing do where it says something like HP 30? 1%-0.5%?

every name i put in is rejected and i do beleive it does make then stronger,no idea bout quick heal,i think you get a heal spell eventually

GUIDE TO MAKE A CHAR! (Worked for me) USING AppLoc!
1) Start it up (AppLoc), press next, make sure Launch a Program is selected
2)Browse to find your CAVE folder and select ImagineClient (or whatever is close to that) Then press Next
3)Choose the language second from the bottom and hit Next, it should have started the game and allowd you to make a char succesfully, it did for me :)

durza1212, to get pets, you gotta do different things, the chances of getting is better during the day, only like 4-5/100 times will work xD i've only gotten like 5-6 pets so far :( i acidently deleted my fairy and can't use my angel :(

Well how do you get them, what do you do?

You use the 3 presusaives modes, greeting, provoke and i forget the last one, open up the PC tab, and under one of the tabs is your skills, its the 3 blue ones near the bottom just keep using it over and over. If you use it once, and they say something and run, keep using the same one and you'll likely get one!!

Btw... Can anyone help me, i acidently desummoned my neko(cat) and now i cant summon any of my pets :( they all have red numbers beside their names, help please?

to get out of window mode you need to go to C:\Program Files\CAVE\MEGAMITENSEI IMAGINE then choose imagine options then chnage your settings there.

im order to make a character you name the you out in must be in Japanse Kanji / writing. go to your Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options in the control panel. then go to the regional language options. When the little box/ menu/ whatever you call it pops up choose the language tab. the go to details, select add the choose Japanese. Also go to the language bar option after you add Japanese to your list then make sure the show language bar on desktop option checked in. when you see the language bar on the desktop start up the game as you normally would then when you log in, etc,etc go make your character click on the little bar to put you name in then go to the language bar that you should have at the bottom of the screen click the letters EN the should be in a box, select Japanese then click the keyboard choose Japanese input system. then choose the thing before the purple box thing on the bar that pops up, the on the other list the pops up clikc the 4t thing. Teh when the menu comes up with a crap load of Japanese characters make sure un the SMT: imagine create a character menu that the name box is selected (with the input bar/ straight bar flashing) then on the other box with all of the Japanese kanji in it choose some letters to make your name, or go online to find out a name in japnese the put in the proper kanji and DONE you shold be able to make a character. (btw if the language bar is not on the desktop it is going to be on the task bar, just click it and select show the language bar.) hope this helps. Also if anyoen can make a better guide, one that is more detailed, or less confusing please make it since I personally am the crappiest guide maker also I don't know how to make screen caps so yea .... -.-

yeah it's a video card error, you need a better one. My problem was I didn't have cell shading...or pixel shading was it? Anyways, I got a new computer and it works now, it's choppy cuz the computer sucks, but the game works now. There is very close to zero percent change this would come to America. Atlus USA just doesn't have the resources to translate and keep an MMORPG going.

I played a little of the second one, but I'm waiting till an SNES Emulator is released for the newest version of PSP, cuz I stupidly updated mine and now I can't play any emulators on it. So I'm waiting to play SMT1&2 portably.

I hit ok and it takes me back to the same screen. I tried pressing all of the buttons but the ones that arent abort or back all take me to the same screen. Anyone know how to help me out with this?

well do you have enough room on your Hard drive? and if you do then I really don't know. Try restarting your pc then try to install it. Also make sure you don't all ready have a destination directory of the same name. Then make sure your installing it in the right place. If all of that fails then maybe the install you got is messed up.

I keep getting this error whenever I try to configure my out-of-game options:

"The application has failed to start because d3dx9_27.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

But re-installing doesn't work. XD Is there any other way to change to fullscreen? Windowed mode lags so much it's unplayable.

I saw a similar situation yesterday in third home. I wanted to try this game after having long vacation from it(b4 cash shop).

We should make an OnRPG guild where all english IO players can meet.

OK, I'm very sorry to tell you all but I'm pretty dissapointed in Imagine Online. Or it's just me..(+ the language >.>).
It's a bit too hardcore for me, I love SMT but you know, it's not my kind of MMORPG.

Yes, I was, but I fixed it, I picked the wrong language in AppLocal. I got it right now, the Japanese language is the last choice.

If you're at Third, leave the city and go right until you're at a pit with nothing but fairies and long named-fairies. They're good experience until level 8, and they have a really good drop rate.

I finally got the game downloaded and squared away to not display jibberish and it shows Japanese. My main problem now is the same a few previous posters in this thread: I can't make my character. I make it display my name as zlatko, can set him up to look like what I want, but the lower left most option is grayed out so that I can't accept and make him. I've tried other names both in JP and non JP, the option won't ungray.

Anyone have an idea for how to fix this? Maybe someone can give me a copy paste of the name zlatko with no capitals and maybe that will work. I'm stumped as it stands. :(

EDIT: Okay I found the problem was that the applocale language I picked wasn't Japanese. It was the 2nd to bottom choice for it. Problem is now if i try to name myself zlatko. i can get the z and the l then there is no A or a character so it turns into japanese and I can't have a full english name. Anyone know how to fix that or have a copy/paste i can use to name myself that ?
