Ok so around the time they was doing the opne preview of nightful the game seems to take 10 years to download anything so i stopped playing and decided to reinstall my computer. So last night i thought hey why not install guildwars again so i did and well its takings 10 years to download anything still...... its going at 2k/s download rate! im on 8mb broadband and it used to take like 30 seconds to download updates from ncsoft, So anyone else have this problem?

Are you on the European or American server? The European server has been reported to have connection and other issues and it's being looked into presently. I'm on Euro servers myself and experience some lag.

If you're reinstalling and downloading the game, the .dat file is about 3 gigs now so it's gonna take a while to DL all of that. Add to that the fact that it's a very busy event weekend tonight, lots of regular people and new ones are logging in for the games...

Nice 8mb broadband you got there :D I remember downloading 50mb worth of updates on dialup when Factions rolled out (4 kb/s! yahoo!! XD) for up to 4 hours a night over a number of nights >:(

If you have a friend who also plays Guild Wars, it may be easier to just copy his .dat file than download it all over again. Then do -image to be sure you've downloaded all images so that the next time you'll zone in with little or no loading :3

As I still haven't bought a DVD-writer, so I sometimes copy the .dat file onto another hard disk drive as a backup. Once I get my cd writer I'll burn the latest .dat file onto that as the backup instead and share it with my friends.

Yes im in europe so maybe thats the problem i have both guidwars and factions i installed the from the faction disc's so it should have to download 3gig lol unless for some reason its downloading the whole game again lol, it will probley have to download the maps due to updates but they are like 80-100mb each and as i said the problem is the download servers are going realy realy slow.
