i was getting frustrated having a difficult time learning to k-style because i hated having to reach up to the number keys (1, 2, 3) to change weapons. i've searched around for better button setups but failed to find one that suits me. so i played around with the setup myself (which i probably should have done in the first place) and came up with something really good (well, i think it is) that i haven't seen anyone using yet.
i use SDFE rather than WASD to move around (shifted 1 key to the right, so its like my normal typing position for my left hand). This gives me more buttons that are fairly easy to reach for.
i use Q and W for guns, i use my sword as R, reload is W, and items are 1 and 2 (i don't use this cuz i don't use meds or nades =\). with this, i find it extremely easy to SS because i can keep my 'movement fingers' pretty much there the whole time every time; its never used to switch guns.
if i wanted to SS to the left, i would have to press [SPACE]SS[CLICK]AR (or QR)
if i wanted to SS forward (i love doing this cuz its easy and i use it alot to climb walls) [SPACE]EE[CLICK]QR (or AR). my hand stays in the top row the whole time.
if i wanted to SS to the right [SPACE]FF[CLICK]AR (or QR)
if i wanted to SS back [SPACE]DD[CLICK]AR (or QR)
try doing these patterns yourself and tell me what you think =)
at first it was difficult cuz i was using my pinky finger more than ever, but i got used to it and i can SS forever pretty much (increased pinky muscle!). and the shift button is a bit farther to reach to butterfly, but got used to that, too.
i havent tried other k-style moves because SS and BF is pretty much all i need, so i don't know if its harder to do other k-style moves. so tell me what might be difficult to do with this setup
