I was training in DMT (Drakes Meal Table) last night, and when channel hopping to find a spare channel I came across one channel that had something really strange indeed happening... The channel contained only around 1/4 - 1/2 as much monsters as it usually did... but the weird thing was that monsters would keep appearing (as though spawning) but then a split second later vanish completely into thin air. Not like they had been vacced or killed, litterally just disapear without a trace! This happened to maybe around half the monsters which spawned...

Wierd huh? Anyone else seen this? Am I just on drugs?? ;P

Was it in AntTunnel? Monsters always go glitchy there.

I've seen just empty channels at DMT, but that's been going on since Beta. But the whole disappearing thing, never heard of that. Maybe you are on drugs :)

I've seen it before. I always assumed it was just a side-effect of some sort of vac hack. You claim that the map had fewer monsters than normal, and this makes sense as well. I've witnessed maps where not all the monsters are vacced. For example, one time in the Ant Tunnel, I was trying to train, but every so often I'd go to swing at a zombie mushroom only to have it vanish before I could hit it. Of course, in these maps, the hacker is almost always out of sight.

I've encountered it mostly in the dungeon regions such as the Ant Tunnel.

I'm pretty sure its a private vac called per vac. I'm not exactly sure, never really seen it.

That happend to me too...i wuz going to the cargos, and when i went through DMT, it was DESERTED. Maybe aliens abducted them.

Sounds like a glitchy Vac hack to me, I see it alot on Windia only to find the monsters in a corner later.

I remember in ant tunnel where there was NO monsters at all. I went investigating to all parts of the map and i found at the top right there was a TONNE of evil eyes all in the one area, on platforms too so i didnt think they were vacced...i think.

I once saw that..it was at the first cerebus map. there was no hacker in sight and all the monsters dissapeared. i went in the lava and they were hidden in the middle :|

Ok Im not lieing just to raise my post count. I was on my sin, And the same thing happened. Althought it was in ant tunnel mushrooms.. When like A group of 3 would appear only 1 would stay and another 2 would vanish. The sad thing is, theres no way to call a moderator.. Which i found very sad:cool:

This hack is called Uber Vac hack. It vacs all monsters that spawn immediately to where a person was last standing.

( PS Don't ask me how I know. I use ot be a hacker in many other games =p )

I think I seen it. The items land on an enabled place where I can pick up items. I stole his mesos and ores but my friend said to hrury before I get accused of it.

Theres few different types of vac hacks btw. Uber Vac is also known as EAX vac hack.

EAX Vac: Kind of serversided. You appear to everyone else where you started out at, but to you, you're clustered with a large mob of monsters.

DupeVac: Serverside, sucks all the monsters to the area around the last place you touched the ground on the map.

WallVac: Allows you to cluster all the monsters at one point in the map, by killing them first, they will spawn inside the defined box. However any maps with walls in the middle will cause the monsters to get stuck. Another downside is that monsters can't be sucked upwards. All in all, slightly buggy.

its ok. ive seen it happen at the blind place where like 40 wraths spawn. theres only like 5 of the hout of 50 and they like are vacked wierdly
