For some reason, I'm beginning to believe that people who play Maplestory are stupider than people who play other MMORPG's. Even the azn's are beginning to add go0k to their IGN, only knowing that this is another term for Korean or Vietnamese (for those of you who don't know, it's a racial/ethnic slur and is also defined as anyone who is offensive to others because of stupidity, coarseness, etc; it was used by soldiers in the Korean/Vietnam War because they thought that the Koreans/Vietnamese were inferior). And for those who are about to flame me for using "azn" and being such a hypocrite I will explain why this term is not so much of a disgrace. First, most Fob's/F.O.B. (Fresh Off Boat) use Asian to describe themselves as they are not "Americanized" yet. Second, most azn teens prefer to use the term azn instead of Asian (surveyed 64 Koreans from school, church, and tennis; 59 agreed with azn). Lastly, it makes us look cool (I know I'm gonna get flamed for that).

Agreed, the world is full of stupid people thats why it isn't perfect. Although i have to say that black people going around calling each other "niggers" is about the dumbest shit ever . Yes, I said it, why because i live in a black family. Most people i know are "black", while i am half black and half white (yeah i'm a mutt :-/ .) It amazes me that in a nation that has gone through the civil rights movement, retards are so intent at pissing me off about how i was born and yet it still matters how you are born even though everyone is equal. The word "******" was meant to be "offensive" so what is the point to go around calling each other the names derived from white bigatry (it's also ironic about the acronym of the NAACP, see it and you'll figure it out)! To further vent off my rage I would also like to add that the Affirmative Action it a ****ing waste of economic time!

@ cyraan: On the other hand I can't say anything about people who use anime names in thier ign (you must really hate anime cyraan) because after all it is thier own choice to express thier support/love for something that they like. Kinda in the sense of how you express your love for girls in your sigs and names as you put in the "wizet is sexest" thread." Although naruto and bleach are kinda overrrated since they'er kinda "hype" animes like harry potter, LoTR, and dbz. No offense towards anyone who likes these, just that they have a period whne like "everyone loves them" (and i did like LoTR and the movies were way better than the books :3 )

You mean plagiarizing? And I agree that people are stupid for using anime for their name, but I don't really think that azn is a racial slur, it's more like an abbreviation. Stuff like "******" and "gook" count as racial slurs. I make my own names up with my imagination.

Maybe the people who add that word to their name must not be an asian and trying to be racist or the person couldn't think of anything and added it because (s)he felt like it.
And also there are a ton of MS users so it's hard to even make a good name without numbers.

As for the word "azn", people treat it differently. Some think it's cool. Some don't. In many MMO's, in order to be good you need to communicate with your teammates. Those who don't have Vent or Team Speak need to type our words fast. So, they end up with abbreviations for different things. "Laugh out Loud" became "lol". "Player Verses Player" became "pvp" and so on.

I'm not sure if that's the origin of the word 'azn', but I don't really think it matters. Who cares if a guy has a weird name? Does it really affect you? You might be offended by it, but other people might also be offended by your name. Just forget about names. I don't care if someone is called " XxXxXxXxXaznXaznXaznXxXxXxXxXxX" If he's nice, he could be my friend. Names have nothing to do with the person itself. There was a discussion some times ago about African Americans calling each other 'Niggers'. They say it's alright because they are black, therefor have the right to make fun of their own race. But that's not true. However, these days, all these words have been used so many times that people don't think before they say it. A lot of times, they might say something, and not realize they're offending someone.

1. Ppl who say they have AZNPRIDE, wont take the time to write out Asian. If u really had pride in your culture, youde take like 1 sec. to write out 2 more letters.

3. Names do speak a lot about a person, especially a name you choose on your own. I know what really matters is whats deep down, but a name does come deep down. Its what ppl will call u. Its what u want to be called.

4. All those guys who hate the Anime show guys names. It is there passion, so I dont really find anything wrong with this. Yes, maybe they could have been a bit more creative, and found a name that hasent been repeated 5000 times, but its what they like. Its just because anime is soo popular.
