View Full Version : Prophecies, Factions, or Nightfall first?

Ok.. Questions I am asking...
○ Do they all have good PvP areas?
○ Which one's storyline is better?
○ Which game has the largest continent?
○ Which game has the best Guild wars? (PvP battles, of course...)
Ok... I like solo-ing most of the time. Like, just getting NPCs to go on quests with me. I am trying to get into PvP stuff, and I am hoping GW will do that for me.
So, which one?
○ Oh, and is there an option to use headsets?

PvP can be accomplished easily via Guild versus Guild Battles. Or even Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry with the Factions expansion. You can access GvG battles with either expansion I think.
Storyline, I have to say Nightfall. They have definitely the best storyline, but if you don't understand the basis of the world that Guild Wars is based on, then maybe prophecies.
Largest continent, well, easily Prophecies. But prophecies progresses extremely slowly, as compared to Factions or even Nightfall. Factions has the smallest area to explore, as such your characters level extremely quickly.
I'm not too sure about GvG, again because i've not participated in any.
And if you like solo, don't worry because all the expansions have henchmen which you can take with you on quests/missions. If you want more, then get Nightfall, where you get heroes, who are just like henchmen, just that you get to customize their weapon and skillbar.
Headsets...why don't you just jack one into your computer output sound port? The one where your speaker is? It should work just like your speakers then.
Good luck, I personally have no preference on which Guild Wars to play, and I have gotten all three. I'd suggest you try out the system and see for yourself if Guild Wars is the game for you.

Well, I want it really bad, and if I don't really like it that much, I will still keep it. Just incase I play it more. But from my research, all of the people i've asked online and IRL, I can't wait to buy it. I think I will go with Prophecies... I want a larger world and I don't know much abou the GW world... So, when I first log in, I plan to start in the world of Tyria. ^.^' Thanks for the help.
Oh, I have a request about computers... I want to play guild wars on max with no lag, and to play other games, but I still need a computer...
I want a DELL computer, well my dad is only going to buy a DELL since my mom has credit for it or something. But it needs...
2.5+ Ghz proccesor. I preffer 3.0Ghz, but I guess something a little lower wouldn't hurt.
1GB RAM.
I know what GPU I want, and the hard drive space doesn't really matter. I know this is really off-topic, but I thought I would throw it in since it has to do with me playing GW. Oh, and it has to be under $450...

if its your first time playing through the game i would have to say prophecies
-largest continent
-best story IMO (NF storyline is boring as hell and im still working thru factions
-all have pvp tho factions probably has best options for pvp
-prophecies will most liely entertain you the most because it dosent just throw you right in ( you get to stay in pre searing ascalon and move along)
and you dont get to level 20 almost immediately, the problem with factions and nightfall is that people reach level 20 so soon that they are still inexperienced and can die on very easy missions over and over again.
all have their ups and downs but over all id say i would get prophecies over the other two

Cool. Oh... Do you think Guild Wars would be fine on a laptop? I might want a laptop instead of a new desktop... But I think they are more expensive... 0.0' And they probably overheat faster... I don't know... Just a thought, but that WOULD be cool... Although, it might be rather hard.
