Ok I've looked around and DLed everything that I needed. I have the language packs DLed from my XP cp. Under the regional options for language I have it set to japanese and under advanced I have it set to japanese. But when I start Cabal It shows me a screen with Cabal across the screen for a lil bit then it cancels. Any idea what I can do to get it working?

Your not using Windows uE by any chance are you?

no im using Windows XP professional sp2

lol yea my system can play vanguard at it's highest quality I think it can handle cabal online.

u stuffed up the files, either moved or replaced a file u shouldnt have...try reinstall and if ur installing the english patch, watch it carefully.

did that I backed up the original data file and restored it after i installed the english pack. So even with the original Data file it still doesnt work >.<

but it onyl took me about 15 min to instal Cabal so I guess I'll uninstall it and then reinstall it.

Well...windows uE is a custom version of windows xp sp2, the one i'm using. I mention it because i had the same problem as you, because the guy who made the windows, stripped part of the windows, so even though japanese was installed, it wouldn't work in non-unicode programs (as in you couldn't set your non-unicode programs setting to japanese, although you dont really need to set to japanese if its installed properly). The creator also posted a solution, so i got mine fixed, but if you have a different version of windows xp, it probably wont work for you.

could it had been ur internet?? or mayb a frirewall antivirus w/e lol...

Couldt have been my firewall or anything like that so im at a loss but i dont really care why its working just that it is =D lol
