Well I was board so I thought I'd look up some backmasked songs. I'd seen the Another Bites The Dust one on Albino Black Sheep. But never these ones on this site (http://jeffmilner.com/backmasking.htm).

I'm looking around in this list on Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_backmasked_messages).

I think I might try some of these. What are your thoughts on backmasking? Do you think most of them are deliberate? (Other than the ones that are of course deliberate. Like in the Pink Floyd song Empty Spaces.) Some are clearer to hear than others. I think the clearer they are the more likely they are to be on purpose.

I do not think any are deliberate. Your brain plays many tricks on you. For example, right now I'm taking psychology class and we did a little covering about bask masking. He played a few of the popular "demonic" songs backwards and told us to try to figure out what they were saying. All the class could hear was gibberish, nothing but gibberish. But once he revealed what the backwards song was supposedly "supposed" to say, those words get stuck in our mind and it seems like it's actually saying it.

I really really really stink at explaining things.

But basically, a song backwards is mostly gibberish until a factor, such as someone saying it says "the devil loves you", is said to be in the song. Your brain then takes in this information and tricks you into thinking that is what it's saying. This reason is because as humans, we are most comfortable to things that are closer to us. Our brain changes the gibberish so it sounds like human words. This is just like how we always see things like human faces in the clouds and junk.

Well some do sound like what they say but even if it did sound like real words and stuff I mean I highly doubt that they meant to do that on purpose its just ridiculous but interesting lol

Not necessarily. Like the Pink Floyd song Empty Spaces, the Weird Al song I Remember Larry and the Electric Light Orchestra song Fire On High. There all deliberate. They said something. Reversed it and added it in the song.

Very well said. +2 rep for you!

Well some are obviously deliberate and intentional like the weird al (to make fun of people who beleive in backwards messages in songs) and the Empty Spaces (probally for fun or something) but I wasnt to sure about the ELO one

Why would you be unsure about the ELO one? It clearly says "The music is reversible, but time is not. Turn back, turn back, turn back."

Heh I've seen this a long time ago!

Still great, I showed it to my class, and the one where he says "treasures there" and reversed it's "i am satan"
I'm in a Catholic school, so they sorta just banned that site. ;(
